There's a woodsy area with some worn trails, most likely for biking. There's a wooden lift bridge that crosses the river to Fargo. The playground is HUGE with something for every age group. There are interesting structures that I haven't seen at other playgrounds, and it's great imagination fuel for the kiddos. I also love that this playground is more accessible - there are structures for those in wheelchairs or limited mobility. The pathways through the park are also wheelchair accessible. I think the accessibility of the structures depends on individual needs. Extra bonus - lots of FREE parking.

I didn't come to the realization before that there are so many darn parks here, and a lot of them are really pretty nice! Fun fact: the Fargo Parks website states that there are more than 150 parks just in Fargo! I mean, like what?!? Why do you even need that many parks for a place that's drowning in snow 3/4 of the year, and why would any other place need that many anyways unless it's a place with hundreds of thousands of people? Yeah, I don't have an answer either. Questions aside, Fargo has way too many parks, and as I've been spending more time outside biking and running it's been quite fun to explore them a little more. Out of 150+ parks, there are 3 that are all along the same path and called Milwaukee Trail Mini Parks, because the trail they lie along is the Milwaukee Trail (this is where you say, well duh!) So, this is park #1, also called Milkwaukee Trail North Park, because it's the furthest north park of the 3. Ever heard of an outdoor gym or a park gym? Well, that's what this place is! They have lifting machines at the park so you can get an outdoor workout in- very cool!! Definitely wouldn't guess Fargo would have one of those so it was definitely a pleasant discovery while out and about. There is some grassy space to do whatever you please, picnic tables, and of course a playground as well. I'd say this is the biggest and easily nicest park of the 3 Milwaukee's.

If you are smaller and need 30 amp, you are down by the river. I heard those sites are very unlevel but I did not go down to see as we were in the 50 amp area. We stayed one night. The staff was helpful as there was a huge mud puddle outside our door and they gave us boards so we could get in and out of our coach. Not many choices near Fargo. This is a very nice park but not really a campground for big rigs.

Brunsdale Park is a large, spacious, interactive and really wonderful Fargo park! It's the perfect…read moreplace to run, walk or bike along the windings paths, to enjoy the playground, sit and picnic, play soccer or other games, and so much more. Though I am partial (and totally unbiased) for Stonebridge #1 for Fargo Parks, Brunsdale really gives some stiff competition. It's like a mondo-sized park- there's several soccer fields lengths of just open grass. There's a running path that goes along the park for at least a mile and always winds around. It also has an underpass under the busy 32nd Street that's touching the south side of the park, so you don't have to worry about crossing traffic. The playground is fun because it has a lot of goofy, less common play equipment that looks like an absolute hay day for a kid. There's an adorable gazebo to sit at and even a little bridge across the tiniest valley. I recently discovered there are pickle ball courts here that are super clean, and Brunsdale also includes Brunsdale Baseball Park, which I've gone to on numerous occasions to play myself (softball) and watch others. They have a concession at times, and bathrooms. Another new addition is the interactive storywalk along the running path that has signs telling kids to do different things and it's so sweet and good fun. It would take a long time to get tired of this park with all there is to do!

Aaand welcome to the creatively named Milwaukee Middle Park, aka Milwaukee Mini Park #2! That's…read moreright, one of 3 parks with the same name, but certainly not ranked the same. I'd give the North park (#1) the top spot for sure. This one would come in a close second. There's a regular old playground, the big long walking/ running path that passes the park, and even a small frolf course. The thing I found the coolest about the middle park, though, is that there is a "bike repair" station-- literally a little post that has wrenches, a tire pump, and all kind of other tools and gadgets to fix any kind of issue your bike may have, all free of charge. Pretty neat if you ask me!

The staff were friendly and the zoo was very clean. I'm from California so I'm used to massive zoos but this one was quant and perfect for a quick visit. It looks like they have a ton of kid activities so that would be something to look into.

The park is spacious and well-maintained, with lots of grass and a fenced-in area to separate smaller, shyer dogs from their larger brethren. The biggest downsides to this dog run are the lack of shaded areas (there's a small canopy area, and a small tree or two, but not much besides that for so large a park), and the flat terrain doesn't provide much variety for curious dogs (and their humans) to explore. I also went on a weekday in the early morning, and we were the only ones there, so I can't vouch for the socialization level of the dogs there -- or their humans, for that matter. ;) I don't know how this compares to other dog parks in the area (if any), but it seems Village West provides a pretty decent place for your canine pals to socialize.

The best memories are those stumbled upon by accident! Just like the discovery of this bike path/…read morepark for me and my lovely momma. We went on an evening cruise and decided to try and explore a little bit, and ended up at Lions Conservancy Park, which is only a mile or two from our neighborhood. What I didn't realize about this park, though, is that they have some amazing mountain biking paths. It was so much fun! Lions Conservancy backs up to the Red River, and the bike path goes right along the river so it's hilly and woody and so cool. There's another path on the other side of the river in nearby Iwen park. The path is also super user friendly. At the beginning there's a map of it, and even a QR code you can scan to access the map electronically, and boy is it helpful. There's also constant markers on the path so you know you're still going the right way. For those who are more seasoned with mountain biking (ie: not me), there's some built in jumps and fun challenges. I stayed way clear of those, because just trying to make it along the path was plenty enough for me. It's about a mile total and it really gets you sweating. So besides the beautiful paths, there's really not a lot more to Lions Conservancy. You can sort of see the river from the parking lot. You can't walk far without being swarmed by bugs and other. But what a beautiful and delightful little path! Certainly not for the faint of heart but all the better when you complete it!
