My Orlando based colleague referred to Ramon as "Mr Disney" and I can't think of a better…read moredescription. I reached out to Ramon several months before our trip to Disney to get some help figuring out the best plan of action for a princess obsessed 3 year old. He was extremely helpful in suggesting appropriate theme parks, restaurants and other activities. And then I hired Ramon to be our "concierge" for a day at Hollywood Studios. When we met Ramon I was feeling a bit frazzled after our first solo day at Magic Kingdom. My usual daredevil 3 year old had decided she was suddenly afraid of everything and was extra cranky thanks to a cold. We were making our way to "voyage of a little mermaid" when she burst into tears that she was now scared of Ariel. Sigh. Ramon didn't even flinch and suggested we instead meet Woody and Buzz from Toy Story. My daughter was all smiles again and as soon as she started to get fussy in the very short line he pulled a book of princess stickers out of his magical bag and stopped yet another meltdown. Disney is anything, but calm...but Ramon himself is cool as a cucumber. The 4 hours we spent with him were actually relaxing. He had a great plan in mind based on his knowledge of Hollywood Studios. Because of him we never waited in line longer than a few minutes and managed to do everything we wanted to do in half a day...and make it back to the hotel in time for naptime (mom and dad sure needed a nap too!). I originally worried it would be weird to have someone with us on our family vacation, but Ramon was a pleasure to have with us. He also did a great job of being helpful, but let us have our family time. We did all the rides, attractions and lunch on our own...and he was waiting for us after with a smile. And when my husband wanted someone to ride a roller coaster with him he was more than happy to help out. Disney is always fun, but can definitely be overwhelming (especially during the holiday season). However, it really will be the happiest place on earth if you invite Mr. Disney along for the ride.

Oh, and dinner ran late one night past our fastpass time and he managed to get us in. -- BUT so not worth the money we spent for having him 5 days!!!! It might be different if he actually put the phone down and walked with his clients instead of leaving them. He did have a friend help him, Mary, who did a better job than he did. At least she actually made sure our party stayed together! Save your money and don't use Theme Park Concierges! You definitely won't be treated like VIP. They knew how to get around the parks in the most efficient ways and ensured we had a great time. Not only was it the perfect #alldaydate for us it was also so educational. Jerald was so fired up and knowledgeable about all things Disney it blew our minds. He was the real star of the show in our mind's eye. It was as if Walt himself was our tour guide. We started at Epcot behind the scenes before World Showcase opened. We went during the flower and garden show so all the landscapers were manicuring the flower models. He told us all the tricks they use how they make building focal points in each of the parks. Then we went behind the scenes to see how the American Experience show works. From there we went and saw the Shops at Disney, Laundry, Costume Design/manufacturing/ storage. Lunch at Whispering Cafe was excellent. Last stop was a tour of Magic Kingdom. The grand finale was us walking down the Main Street parade route just in front of the parade. We felt like part of the show and VIPs. They let us stay and watch the whole Festival of Fantasy parade which was so entirely awesome appreciating what we had just scene behind the scenes to make it all happen. Thank you Disney Adventure for an unforgettable experience. BTW, for all the parents of little ones out there...our kids got their very own "Mary Poppins of a nanny for the day. We used a company Extra Hands who provided an awesome nanny as their personal park guide for the day. They had just as much fun as we did.

Our tour was given by cast members (employees) of the Disney Institute. Shout out to Monica and Stu! These are the people who act as ambassadors for the "Disney Way" of doing things for corporate team building visits. They are enthusiastic ( either that or darn good actors) about Disney and are very knowledgeable about pretty much all things pertaining to the house that the mouse built. Ever wondered about the supposed tunnels under the Magic Kingdom? You will find out on this tour. Ever wanted to see how Disney maintains all the attractions? This tour is for you. From costumes, landscaping, trash collection, trading pins, parades, transportation, maintenance, entertainment, if you can think of it, this tour will do everything short of giving out proprietary information to answer your questions. The tour is pretty much all day with lunch provided. If you are a picture buff, this tour is not for you. As Stu put it, you are only allowed to take pictures if you see babies in strollers. Every thing is referred to being onstage or backstage. Taking pictures backstage was strictly prohibited except for the Disney tree farm and nursery. Seeing the Animal Kingdom parade in its storage house was really neat. The tour is pricey. This experience is for the person who has done pretty much all that Disney has to offer as a guest (if that is possible). You have to be sixteen to attend so it's a nice adult only day on the properties. Now here is some very minor downsides to the tour. One. Disney World resort is so expansive that Disney could easily make this an 8 hour 5 day tour. They have tried their best to give a broad overview that is entertaining but does not wear you out. For someone like me that wants to know all the nuts and bolts of very specific aspects of how Disney works, you will walk away at times wanting more. Two. As I said earlier, the tour is pricey even with lunch thrown in. When it ends around three in the afternoon, I wanted to go straight into Epcot or Magic Kingdom and look for some of the things I learned about. It would be nice if they gave you a complimentary admission into one of the parks that would not burn a day off of the tickets you probably already own for the time you are going to be on the properties. Three. I really wanted to spend more time in the mothership park Magic Kingdom, but each of the four parks is given fairly even time. Four. The meal was at the Wilderness Lodge. It was a good meal, but serving heavy setting wet ribs is not a very good choice for a tour that involved a lot of walking and standing. It was fairly cool in October, but eating a meal of ribs in the summer would have been miserable. Finally, you really don't know the agenda for the day until you get there. From what Monica told me, Disney tries to change up the tour from time to time, but since it is pretty pricey, I don't know if I would roll the dice and risk taking the same tour again. There is so much to see I would want a new experience. Again, these are minor downsides and are only ways Disney could enhance the experience. Don't let this list of five insignificant quirks change your mind. The tour is worth it. This is a really good time and a break from the normal Disney experience. Give it a try.

There are two nightly tours from the Animal Kingdom Lodge at 830pm and 10pm. You have to sign up on the app certain amount of days out based on whether or not you are a resort guest. Arrive 1/2 prior, sign waivers, snap a photo and grab a seat in the back of a covered pickup truck. Our guide Emily was friendly and well informed being a cast member over 10 years. She kept us safe and educated on all of the animals on the safari tour.

At present, Disney charges $17 per day for parking when going to one of their 4 major Parks (Magic…read moreKingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom) unless you are staying in an official Disney Resort or unless you have an annual pass which includes parking. $17 per day is a bit steep, then again, what at Disney isn't?! One way around having to pay the astronomical parking fee is to park at Downtown Disney and take one of their buses to one of their Resorts and then head to your Disney Park of choice. If you're heading to Magic Kingdom or Epcot, a good choice is to take a bus going to the Contemporary Resort because you can then take the monorail. If you're heading to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom, a good choice would be Port Orleans. There are signs marked with which stop number to wait at for the bus you want. There are also Cast Members around to answer questions and help get you where you are wanting to be. The Disney bus transportation is great. The buses are comfortable and air conditioned. The drivers are safe and are generally very nice and friendly. Keep in mind the buses aren't going to go directly from Downtown Disney to the end destination. They often have to stop at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach and they will often have to stop at another resort as well. So just sit back and relax. There are times when the buses get extremely packed. It depends on the time of year, the time of day, and the resort you are staying at. The "economy" resorts are usually always packed and sometimes you may have to wait for a second bus to come because the first one may fill up. The buses do run very frequently. On average, you'll never have to wait more than 20 minutes for a bus, but sometimes, I see buses heading to the same place show up within minutes of one another. There are benches under a shaded area so you at least do not have to stand in the sun to wait. You'll find soda vending machine here, but BEWARE! Just last week I overheard one of the bus drivers warning a guest to not use the machines because they often take your money and don't give you a soda or water. He said it's because the vending machines do not get used all that much and whoever it is that stocks the machines doesn't do so very often. So use these machines at your own risk. Finally, I'd just like to remind all you men to have manners. If you see an elderly person, a pregnant woman, a mother holding a sleeping toddler, etc., then please, please, please, get your tail up and give the person your seat so they don't have to stand! I get so damn irritated on these buses because I see perfectly healthy young men sitting on their lazy, rude a$$es while some poor mother is holding a sleeping child in one arm and trying to hold on to the bus straps with her other hand. So, for goodness sakes, do the right thing!! Yes, I've said this in other reviews.... and yes, I'm saying it again. It's really sad I have to say it at all!

PLEASANT WATER TAXI RIDE BETWEEN MAGIC KINGDOM AND WILDERNESS LODGE…read more The Wilderness Lodge water taxi service connects the Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, the Contemporary Resort and Magic Kingdom. The water taxis are free for everyone - resort and park guests and non-guests. The water taxis have both inside and covered outside seating. When traveling between Magic Kingdom and Wilderness Lodge, we prefer the scenic trip across the lagoon via the water taxi (the bus ride is just a bus ride). To go to Magic Kingdom, take a short walk along the tree-lined elevated boardwalk from the Wilderness Lodge to the boat dock. The water taxi will drop you off in front of the Magic Kingdom entrance (no need to use the Monorail, ferry or tram to get to Magic Kingdom).
