Tashi recently came by my area for a festival. There were a beautiful array of different rocks and crystals at his tents, and they were all gorgeous. He was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I had quite a few questions, and he was patient through all of them, even the ones I probably asked multiple times, haha. I stopped by the tents to admire the pretty rocks, and I left learning unexpected life lessons. He gave me good advice, and I left with some pretty, meaningful rocks and a lighter heart. Excellent shop with the kindest owners and large crystal selection and knowledge of all things crystal related. I'm a bit new to crystals but their crystal selection seemed extensive, of high quality and very reasonably priced. I went in looking for very specific crystals and they had several different sizes and quantities of each. I took a bit of a drive to see them as I don't have any quality crystal stores near my hometown and I'm so glad I did. It was definitely worth the drive. It's a feel good store! I can see why they easily have a 5 star rating! Also, the location of the store is in a cute street shopping area and has easy parking and tons of really cute restaurants up and down the street too so that you can grab lunch or coffee too. I am writing this review as a review of the owners, and the wonderful stones they provide. Tashi is an incredibly sweet, kind, and generous person. He is also a hard worker, and incredibly knowledgable regarding all the stones in his shop. When you enter the store you can really feel all the love, and energy they have put into the place. They have a large range of stones, something in everyone's price range. They have many many beautiful stones. My boyfriend and I visited today and was very impressed with the Stone Room. A really great selection for everyone from the beginner to the experienced collector. Tenzen was so sweet and very welcoming. We enjoyed talking with her about the origin of some of the pieces and my boyfriends adventures rockhounding. I bought a rainbow quartz from Tashi at the Telegraph Christmas Market. It was a wonderful experience. I'm often skeptical of hippie-fleecing gem vendors, but Tashi is the real deal. I went to visit the Stone Room on impulse as it's right across the street from the Bone Room (funny how that goes) and it's absolutely incredible! It's a relatively small store but it's packed with tons of beautiful stones, polished and raw, geodes, salts, and handmade brass sculptures. There is a wide range of prices (all of which seem fair to me) depending on the stone, so anyone can pick something out. The store is very calming and the owner is very sweet too. I have never written a Yelp review before, but can't resist saying this is a lovely little gem of a store here. There is an impressive variety of minerals and rocks at very reasonable prices. You just want to linger and study the many cool finds from around the world. There is something there for everyone, for serious mineral collectors, to practitioners of crystal healing and other esoteric traditions, to people with a general interest in stones. I bought an absolutely beautiful 450 million year old ammonite fossil from Morocco and a good quality, rough aquamarine that I look forward to cleaning. We visited the Stone Room yesterday for the first time, while waiting for Cafe Tibet next door to open. We enjoyed browsing through their lovely collection of gems and crystals - and must say their crystals are gorgeous! The owner was very kind and friendly as well, and he helped us select our gems with great care. The fluorite and quartz pieces on the upper level looked like angel wings to me, and radiated really nice vibes :) We're going to stop by next time we're in the area for sure, if only to browse and absorb the vibes! read more

Prices are very reasonable and selection is wide and carefully curated by Tashi and Tenzin who are a joy to meet and know and extremely generous. Tashi and I met a few months ago at a large martial arts gathering in Reno Nevada. I could feel his good energy radiating across the entire hotel floor of the conference and it felt like a blessing of the people and place. There were over 60 Professors of Martial arts, and probably 300 black belts meeting from all across the USA, sharing their arts for several days. I was there teaching a class for tuning forks on the Marma points, well known in India for their therapeutic properties, much like acupuncture. The tuning fork hands on techniques are modified for martial arts seifukujitsu, or the healing arts branch of martial arts, and I only mention this to say that the energy was very high at the conference, the rooms were buzzing with demonstrations of the arts, promotions, recognition for life accomplishments, reunions, and many different dojos and schools were present. People came from Ecuador to Isreal, from Hawaii to upstate New York. There were ongoing friendly contests and many classes. There was a Tibetan Lama teaching, as well as a Swami from India. The organizer of the entire conference spent 2 years organizing the guest roster, and could have invited any vendor, but he had personally invited Tashi to come up to the conference to share his collection of crystals and stones from the Stone Room, in Albany. Tashi had brought his collections all the way up from Berkeley to share. I note this environment just to say that these martial artists are highly attuned to energy, are trained masters in reading and working with energy, are interested in all aspects of martial arts, including the healing arts, and would not have invited or tolerated imposters or posers or energy vampires selling charms. Eric, the martial arts conference organizer personally told me he invited Tashi because he had such good energy. It is true that his portable crystal collections were amazing and also had good energy. The crystals and stones were beautiful, boxed collections from far off India, Madagascar, Brazil. There were bowls of Desert Roses, Kyanite, and Apophyllite, Celestite, Labradorite, Lapis Lazuli, Rhodochrosite, Larimar, Ruby Fuchsite, Selenite, Rose Quartz, and so many more offerings, including unique crystal balls. The crystals were shiny, happy and singing, not dusty and disrespected in jumbled piles as you sometimes see. The energy of the faceted gemstones, quartz and amythest crystal points pendulums, stone massage tools, as well as Dharma scrolls and Tibetan crafts were very good quality, and the prices as I began to make my selections was surprisingly generous. Tashi was knowledgeable about the stones purposes, sources and care and answered all my questions with grace and laughter. Tashi is much more then just a shop keeper. He is a touchstone to the Tibetan culture. Tashi grew up in TCV, the Tibetan Children's Viliage in Dharamasala, Northern India and speaks several languages. TVC is a place for Tibetan refugee families and children who had fled from Tibet across the border, and is the home of HH Dalai Lama. Tashi's smile, warm heart and positive attitude and generous nature does not make you think he is a modern political refugee, and far far from his original homeland and family. He and his brilliant Tibetan girlfriend run the store together, but she is also a full time student. Go ahead and ask them what she is studying! Obviously the store is their source of support, and they have clearly made home here, helping create a community around them in the Bay Area. Tashi is both offering a great service, bringing quality high energy stones to the public, and more importantly, making him self publically accessible, even child friendly!! . You can walk right in his ground level storefront and meet him and see all the displays of stones. With just this first encounter, Tashi and I became friends, even though I live far from the Bay Area, we stay in touch often and I tell my friends going to East Bay, to drop in and say hi, or "Tashi Delek" , the traditional Tibetan greeting. While you are there, take some time to just enjoy the good vibes, think of others, and it is easy to pick up some extra small gifts, that are also good energy gifts to share. I hear his rent has been recently increased, , and this concerns me, as we don't want to lose the real flavor of small business in the Bay Area, where real people can live, and through work and vision, and being authentic can make dreams come true. So I encourage you to go to the Stone Room, and share some stories with Tashi, meet a real Tibetan man, kind and warm and friendly, and enjoy the good energy of his collections.
