Diegueno Country School is the best school in the world. We moved from San Francisco to Southern CA…read morewhen my daughter was entering third grade. She was very behind the other students at Diegueno, but the teachers were so patient with her, and even met with her before school each week to help her get caught up. When my daughter graduated from Diegueno she told me "Mom when I first went to Diegueno, I was the dumbest kid in the class, but now I am one of the smartest ones!" I am not saying that either of those statements that she made are necessarily true, but the amazing teachers at Diegueno helped my daughter, improve and grow, and now her confidence in her abilities are through the roof. She has since moved on to high school, but one thing that is interesting is that the kids from her current school who went to Diegueno for elementary school, are excelling at math and public speaking in particular. My daughter even won the award for being the best at Algebra at her new school, because Diegueno prepared her so well, and instilled a natural curiosity and love of learning in her. You will not find a better school than Diegueno Country School.

They all want to talk to me. They all want to tell me happenings of the day. Dcs is location reminds me of a treehouse and you will have to be okay with the classrooms being a bit smaller than other schools. But they make it work somehow. My kids are happy. I have seen academic leaps and bounds. I used to make sure the kids had two tutors. I have now stopped the tutoring and put my child's education into the care of the teachers. The kids are much more willing to try hard to finish homework without too much prying from me. Whatever system they have. It works. And it is working wonders. When you take a tour take a peek at what the kids are working on and you will have an idea of the academic excellence they strive for. Just book a tour.

Having been a part of this community for over 8 years-can't imagine returning to a public school setting. The Carnal State of the Community…read more Maranatha Christian School currently faces a crisis of identity. While the institution prides itself on academic excellence and college readiness, it has done so at the expense of its spiritual foundation. A school can have the highest test scores in the region, but if it loses its "first love" and its commitment to Christ, it ceases to be a truly Christian institution. The Absence of Spiritual Gifts The most glaring issue is the apparent lack of spiritual gifts functioning within the leadership and the student body. According to 1 Corinthians 12, the Holy Spirit equips members of the Body with diverse gifts--such as wisdom, discernment, and faith--to build up the community. "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord... To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." (1 Corinthians 12:4-7) When a school operates solely on administrative policy and academic rigor, it stifles the Spirit. We see a lack of "distinguishing between spirits" (discernment), which allows toxic attitudes to take root. Without these gifts in operation, the school becomes a secular machine with a religious label. Carnal Fellowship vs. Fellowship with Christ The "community" within these walls is a community in name only. There is a profound lack of true fellowship among students and staff, and the reason is clear: you cannot have true fellowship with one another if you do not have true fellowship with Christ through His Spirit. What is left is a carnal state--an environment driven by social hierarchy, reputation, and worldly attitudes rather than the bond of peace. When the Spirit is not leading, human nature takes over, resulting in a culture that feels more like a secular social club than a gathering of believers. As the scripture warns, to be carnally minded is death, and that spiritual deadness is felt in every interaction. Academics vs. Lost Souls Maranatha appears more concerned with its reputation for academic prestige than with the spiritual state of lost souls. The mission of any Christian organization should be the Great Commission, yet the focus here has shifted toward worldly metrics of success. The school is becoming known for its GPA averages and sports programs, rather than being a lighthouse for those seeking truth. When the pursuit of "excellence" becomes an idol, the pursuit of Christ is sidelined. Leadership must ask themselves: What does it profit a student to gain a 4.0 GPA and a prestigious college acceptance, yet lose their soul or never see the power of the Gospel modeled by their mentors? Conclusion A true Biblical community is not built on high test scores; it is built on the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. Until Maranatha prioritizes spiritual fruit and the exercise of Biblical gifts over its academic standing, it will continue to lack the foresight and discernment necessary to lead students toward a genuine, transformative relationship with Jesus Christ.

Every child and family have different needs and it was important that we found teachers and an administration that was willing to partner with us to address any concerns and proactively work together to find solutions. We have been very impressed with the leadership, admin and teachers' transparency, accountability and communication. So many schools can feel like a corporate profit driven endeavor and we have observed that Lifetime cares deeply about children development and curating their interests. A simple example is that we asked that our child be allowed to observe the classroom Montessori 'work' session in action before making a decision to enroll her formally (this would be the first time our child would observe a Montessori class in person). The school year had already started and the Director, Kristin, asked that we hold off until the second or third week of school so that she could support the teachers to protect the integrity of what they were trying to establish in the new classroom on the first week of school without creating a distraction. She could have easily agreed to allow us to observe sooner so we could enroll earlier (other schools did), etc... it's through small actions and decisions that we felt comfortable placing our child there with a team of educators and admin that truly put the children's wellbeing and needs first. They also have set up a system of room parents that are very helpful to guide fellow parents with onboarding, external play dates and organizing events. There is no perfect childcare or school, but at the end of the day, we chose Lifetime because we are confident that the whole team works together to communicate openly and will partner together to honor what's best for our child. It's also a great sign when the teachers choose to coteach together for multiple years, clearly, they are enjoying it :). Thanks to the whole team for putting in their efforts to create a space for children to explore, learn and play!

I love how caring the Director Julie is - she knows every child by name, prays for them, and listens to the Holy Spirit. During covid I knew the school was being ran by someone who hears from the Holy Spirit - what more could you ask? I love that they do the pledge every week together, along with prayer, and they sing songs about Jesus in chapel. I have never had any safety concerns the entire time they've been there, I know they are in the best hands. One of my favorite things about Lifebridge is how they do fun spirit weeks and celebrations. My boys are always looking forward to exciting celebrations coming up, Lifebridge makes holidays memorable and add in a ton of flare in between holidays to make school more exciting! Summer school especially is also full of exciting themes - splash day with bounce houses, popsicles on the playground, etc. If they're ever having a hard time getting to school, I can usually remind them of something fun coming up they're looking forward to. We are not a big extracurricular sports family, but I LOVE that they get pulled out to attend Amazing Athletes every week. They get to experience each sport, as well as do fun games & exercises & they get stamps to show what they learned that day so I can ask them about it at home. They never want to miss it. Again, we are so grateful to God for the blessing Lifebridge has been to our family.
