But the Sandy Ridge staff was INCREDIBLE in helping me feel confident that my daughter was receiving the care she needed regarding cleanliness and then later on assisting so nicely in our potty training journey. All of the staff genuinely love each student and work closely with the parents if there are ever any issues. My daughter had a lot of trouble adjusting to school, and it really felt like the teachers, assistants, and other aids all came together to help my daughter feel included and cared for. Her teacher, Ms. Eileen, would help me come up with good ideas to help her get comfortable with school. They also helped ease my anxiety by sending pictures with updates on her progress. Also, my daughter absolutely loved the class assistant, Ms. Baba, who was so gentle and kind with her. The teachers work together in cohesion and many of the teachers from the other classes, like Ms. Nina and Ms. Evelyn, were still very involved in the development and well being of all the students, even if they weren't their own. I especially appreciated the consistent parent/teacher meetings after receiving quarterly report cards, because it helped me see what actual areas of learning my daughter excelled in, enjoyed, or needed extra support in. Ms. Eileen would give me ideas to better those areas, which helped me supplement this learning at home. Their system is very organized and responsive. Overall, Sandy Ridge is a truly wonderful and fun school, full of excitement, learning, parent/teacher collaboration, understanding, ingenuity, and most important of all, trust - I would recommend to all my friends.

Rock Spring administration handled those challenges with grace, transparency and leadership. I've sent both of my kids there, and have grown very attached to many of the teachers. Now my older child is there for before and after care from a local elementary school, and the time he spends playing with other children at Rock Spring seems like a highlight of his days. The infant rooms are full of compassionate caregivers who treat my child like family, relishing in each new skill and milestone. I have spoken highly of Rock Spring to many friends, and asked them to take tours, and the ones who have seen it in person have agreed with my assessment and enrolled their own children. It was discovered that company had known for a long time that the school would have to close (bc so many families left due to unaddressed safety issues that enrollment was too low to continue operation). By that time, many other schools were full, primary positions for teachers were already full, etc. We literally only had days to find a replacement school placement. I want to start by saying that this school will not discuss tuition rates until after you've been on a 1 hour tour of the facility. This bugged me something serious. I had to arrange childcare for my other children, so the whole experience was so inconvenient. While I loved what I saw, the simple fact is that we have a budget, and if the school is beyond that budget (which it was!), I simply will not enroll my child. I understand why they do what they do...they want to show you why they are superior to other programs. But again, if I can't afford it, I can't afford it. I really wish they would be more transparent about tuition. The school is beautiful, clean, and the grounds are amazing. The program/curriculum is wonderful. The teachers clearly have control of the classrooms and the children were very well behaved. I love that they spend so much time outside exploring. The only thing that put me off is that the tour guide (Wendy) talked so much about the accomplishments of former FMS students (I.e. Harvard graduate, playing Bach on the piano at 4 years old, etc)...I hardly think that they can take credit for those accomplishments. There is a LOT that goes into achieving things so great, and a few years in preschool is only a small fraction of it. The speech seemed a little like a sales pitch and she lost me a bit. She really didn't need to add those tidbits to sell me on the school. The school sells itself. Communication is a struggle at times with the administration--but they have listened from American parents and have grown tremendously, for instance now making sure all parent/family programs are in English and French.
