Oh where to begin. I lived here for just over two years and overall the experience was up and down at best but when they changed the person that was property manager and assistant property manager the issues ESCALATED. First of all calling it a gated community is just wrong. About 2/3rd of the time we lived there the gates were just broken and left open. I believe now they are just gone completely. The real issues are with the HVAC constantly flooding my closet carpet and it being a real chore to get it fixed. The team here is slow to respond and come off passive aggressive when answering questions. It takes several emails and in person visits to get proper answers. Also I have never once paid rent late and they tried at least 6-7 times to charge us late fees. It got to bad I just had them photo copy every single check I gave them and sign it. For the price overall I would look elsewhere when looking to rent. Updating to say they charged us nearly 2000 dollars for carpet removal even though they said that was part of the pet rent we paid. Where do I start.... I'm not sure if management is having issues retaining maintenance personnel or what, but don't expect ANY work orders to get filled if you have any issues. when our POS washer that came with the unit stopped working, we submitted the work order, called the office multiple times, talked to maintenance... it still hasn't been fixed. Can't even do laundry in our own apartment. If you love looking out of your window and admiring the land-fill-esque scenery... this place might be the home for you! Residents (mostly unsupervised kids) have no respect and just throw trash on the ground. I know it seems superfluous to be complaining about litter.... But y'all it's on another level. The pet waste receptacles are always overflowing and the bags provided are never stocked so there's literal dog shit everywhere... but don't worry management will send out a threatening email. The trash valet is awful. I hope you don't need to throw anything away on Friday and Saturday, the days you're actually home from work! But if you decide to throw away your trash at the dumpster on your own, there's a very high likelihood that you won't be able to because it will literally be spilling into the street. It's all good though cause management is going to fix it via email. I can almost guarantee you that if school is not in session, there will be dozens of kids, aged 5 and up, hanging out unsupervised out side. The lack of supervision results in screaming, swearing, fist fighting (that's not a one time thing, like literal fights almost every day), and they're new thing is "doorbell ditching". But don't worry about it... management will send an email. Don't get roped in by them having nice amenities. The pool will stay closed the entire summer, the gym is seriously lacking always crowded and has broken equipment. I'd be very hesitant about ordering anything online. I've lost count of how many packages we've had been reported "delivered at door" but subsequently stolen. They are hypocritical about their own COVID rules, abrasive and staff is incredibly difficult. The back of the complex looks like the slums because they don't keep up on cleaning, the bags for pet waste are never full which leads to pet owners neglecting to clean up after their pets. The apartments don't seem to get cleaned between residents as ours had urine running down the base of the toilet and on the adjacent wall. That's not all the problems we had, just some of the significant ones. read more

I've lived at stone gate for the past two years so I feel as if I I can give the most honest review of this place. To start with problems in the complex itself the only good thing I can say is there is plenty of parking. The pet stations are always full of dog poop and rarely ever have poop bags which isn't a huge problem because I provide my own poop bags but when I'm unable to throw away my dog poop that becomes a problem. The vacuum to vacuum your car out should not be listed due to to not working for the full 2 years I have been here they might as well get that removed. The gates are never closed They are always open, so I would not classify this as a gated community. Now down to the apartment itself they do not do regular maintenance on ac filters or anything that should be checked on annually like I said I've lived here for 2 years in two different units and have never had anyone come in on a regular routine to maintain something so vital to a home. Now let's get down to to management and customer service. Since I've lived here, I have seen at least three different property managers with all having horrible attitude, and only want to argue with you and not fix the problem at hand. I moved into my current unit in July of 2022 I had not even been here a month before a water heater bust and flooded my apartment wall to wall with 4 inches of standing water and that is no exaggeration. In order to get someone down to turn off the water I had to call the fire department to come shut it off because the emergency line for the apartment told me that I was "over exaggerating and that I needed to just go to sleep". So once I was able to get into the leasing office in person I wasn't able to get efficient help and I wouldn't even call them efficient. I would always feel as a burden to them rather than someone paying rent that keeps them in business. It took 2 and a half weeks to get my apartment back livable we were not offered 1. Somewhere to stay while our apartment was not physically livable 2. we were never given an exact timeframe of when the problem would be resolved. 3. we never received any credit due to not being able to live in our apartment. 4. We were not received any credit for our light bill going up $100 for all of the fans and dehumidifiers that were constantly running for two weeks in the apartment. I cannot tell you how many times that an argument arose with me and the office manager while I was expressing my dissatisfaction of the problem that was going on, and the lack of help that we were receiving. I try to contact the main office on multiple times with no answer. I got the number of the president and vice president of this company with no response back and no care if we were even back in our apartment. Now onto the second problem that I've had in the same unit within the year. I noticed a leak coming from my AC unit and when I called to inform them about the leak happening in our apartment, we were told that maintenance is on lunch and that they would get there when they could get there so I took it upon myself to go into the office and tell them that I need someone down here urgently that there is water leaking onto the carpet again. I sat in the leasing office, waiting for the maintenance guy to get there, because I had no faith that they would send someone over immediately and after waiting in the office I flagged down maintenance when they walked in to go to my apartment immediately. He came they turn the AC off and they send over a restoration team to put in more fans and dehumidifiers, and this all occurred on Friday. So now it's Monday. I was told that someone would be here first thing in the morning and which, as you can guess no one came first thing in the morning at around 230 I went to the leasing office myself to get someone in my apartment, which they sent someone over with in 15 to 20 minutes after maintenance got off of lunch. I now was told that the tools they used to test the AC were faulty and that they just needed to recharge my AC and put Freon in there which is something that should be done on a regular basis. I now cannot get into the leasing office because the only person in there is in a meeting and I was told that the meeting with N at 3 o'clock it's now 4 o'clock and I'm still not able to get into the leasing office. If you've read this for, I'm sure we are on the same page, but this is not a great place to live. I would highly recommend anywhere else but here to live it is a huge waste of money, and honestly a very frustrating place to live if you have to get anything done to your apartment or have to deal with the leasing office. Also, if you were looking for an apartment with a pool would not recommend this apartment complex last year. The pool was only open for two months. StoneGate Apartments is not worth the price which currently for a 2 bed 2 bath is $1,406. The apartment is decent but anything maintenance related is not going to be handled in a timely fashion or at all. We only moved in about 2 1/2 months ago almost 3 and we're buying out our lease to where we can leave. The surrounding neighborhood is awful with income housing and drugs and homeless population outside of the gate is not a good place to be unless you're just traveling through that being said the gates, which is what you pay so much for partly is always open. Their motors are somehow always going out. The gate will work for a week or two and then they won't work for a month, so you don't get a gated community living at Stonegate. On top of that when we moved in at the end of August, our dryer was missing knobs and rattling. The sprayer to our kitchen sink did not work at all. The glass bottoms for our fridge was missing. Our microwave was literally held together by black duct tape. Our icemaker did not work and ended up, flooding our entire kitchen floor, even into the carpet when we moved in the windows all have like chip from previous bite marks from what I'm assuming is a previous resident's pet that's also on the baseboards all along the apartment. You get the valet trash and in our welcome letter,stated that it would run Thursday to Sunday has to be under 20 pounds in a trash bag and placed inside the bin, we've always done that we've always been under 20 pounds and always in the bin. If the people who come through don't want to they will not pick it up on top of that they will leave fake warnings saying that you're trash is out of regulations. And then half the time they don't even come so you have to take your trash all the way to the dumpster at the front which is normally overfilling has flies around and it smells absolutely gross. On top of those basic things the pool was open maybe two days and then closed and has not since opened back up which I guess we're going now into colder weather but at the time we were still in a really warm weather and they said it would be open for another month when we moved in so that was just a complete lie. The kids in the neighborhood will dingdong ditch you even if you live on the third floor which is where we live. Also noise my neighbors every weekend like clockwork throw loud parties that vibrate my walls have vibrates my TV off its stand and they go early into the morning and I have not seen the office address it at all and we have left complaints. Also, if you like going for walks or anything like that, don't step in the grass because even though they have signs out, nobody picks up their shit and you're going to step in dog shit. When maintenance did end up coming to our house, even though we had just moved in and none of the things that were messed up we're responsibility they tried acting like we were gonna have to pay for the new dryer they provided which we did not do. Thank gosh after a long disagreement about how it was like that when we moved in the were kind enough to not "charge us". Electric is also super high here.You can find amazing places close to base that are affordable and have more amenities than this. They never answer their phones. You always have to leave a voice message and those never even get answered so you're only option is to go up to the office sit down face-to-face and then have whoever is at the front desk give you the runaround save your money go somewhere else it's definitely not worth $1400 even the one bedrooms are over $1,100. This place is absolute crap. You don't want to be like us and get stuck here wanting to move because now we have to pay almost 6 grand to get out of this lease but we're paying it because it's just that shitty here. read more

If you're thinking of getting an apartment at Stonegate, I would reconsider. The fire alarm was going off in an apartment for over an hour. The fire department showed up at some point and could not enter the apartment, so they did what they could and left. As there was no evidence of an actual fire. As soon as they left the whole buildings fire alarm went off disrupting 23 families, not including the apartment that had already been going off. When we called the management hotline we were told that "the fire alarm going off is not an emergency concern for them to come and unlock the aparment" so the fire department could enter and throughly inspect to make sure everything is safe as it should be. ‍‍‍‍so my families lives are not important enough for you to show up, yet we pay you rent. This place is horrible. The maintenance took forever to fix everything that needed to be fixed. When I asked the front desk if I could talk to the manager, Because the lightbulb in my kitchen went off and I have a birthday party for my son and it's hard to cook without the light. They did not give me the number and gave me a roundabout without resolving the issue. The manager don't respond to her email. The neighbor is inconsiderate.If you are planning or considering staying in the apartment look somewhere else because this place has been a nightmare in our experience. Pros: location that's it. Where do I start. I moved here in July of 2018. At the time... Jennifer was the manager. Things were pretty good under her management. When Alexis took over, things started taking a turn for the worst. I'll start with the team at the leasing office since I'm already on the topic. The staff is always changing, which says a lot about the caliber of people they hire. The current staff is highly unprofessional and lack basic customer service etiquette. Due to the pandemic, the majority of business is conducted via word of mouth. This can and has potentially caused problems due to the staff not remembering a tenant's request. I highly recommend that Stone Gate invest money to train their workers prior to putting them on the front line. Now moving on to overall disappointment and unsatisfactory maintenance of the property. For a "gated community" the gate is always open. This allows thieves to enter at will. No wonder we've had and are still having car break-ins. No designated parking for residents, which means people who don't live here can come and park anywhere. This now forces an actual tenant to park in the visitors parking. The compactor has gotten much better lately, but I can foresee a mountain of trash in it's future. That was actually a nuisance for quite a while, and a disgrace to the property. I think they need to put a dumpster by the mailboxes too. Tenants leave trash in the breezeways, so you're greeted with a stench both leaving and returning home. I highly doubt that they impose the penalties mentioned in the contract. Almost everyone leaves just a bag in front of their doors and not in a trash bin. Let your imagination take you to the odor and leaking bags on the wood that only gets cleaned once in a blue moon. Now let's talk about the environment being peaceful. Neighbors are very inconsiderate and believe in disturbing the peace. The own extremely loud cars and motorcycles. Funny thing is... they don't park their vehicles in front of their apartment because they have babies, but instead inconvenience others with kids. If it's not a loud car or motorcycle, it's someone's loud music and random hours. Then you have uncontrollable kids that make noise in the breezeways. Their activities range from bouncing a basketball to jumping rope, or just getting some cardio in by running up and down the staircase, etc... Stone Gate!!! You need to do better. I've said so much, but trust me I have a lot more where that came from. If you need to find out more, just let me know. Never get to park in front of my building and when I call staff to complain they never do anything about it. Recently was "fined" 25$ for a trash can left outside, when I wasn't even able to come home because of an overnight field exercise. For the Spring Lake area and location, the pricing is pretty steep. They always have community activities which are great. The place it quiet compared to other apartments I have been to. Haven't heard any criminal activities going on. Pros: Community Activities Peaceful Gated (somewhat, people can piggy back off of you) 2 minutes from Walmart and about 3 minutes to Butner Gate Apartment Comes with Washer and Dryer Can't hear neighbors through the walls (always a plus) Granite Counter tops Double sink (no food disposal) Rentable Storage They do trash pick up Water and basic cable (TW) is included in rent. Great maintenance and upkeep of the area Cons While it's gated again someone can piggy back Price is a bit steep. ( renewing my lease increased my rent fee) Pool is a bit small Took away child playroom in gym ( now a tan room) The master bedroom could be a little bigger but it's not. (I have a queen bed that takes away more than half of the room) Guest bedroom comes with no installed lights or ceiling fan. Cable hook-up for living room TV is above fire place which can't fit anything other than a 24-32 inch TV unless it gets modified or use a TV stand but it makes everything look awkward. The staircase is wooden and I'm on the first floor with my bed right below the stairs, every footsteps can be heard. read more

The complex is very attractive and gated. There are some parts that need some work, but that's due to the tenants. The apartments are spacious, but the walls can be thin especially if you have inconsiderate neighbors above you like I had. It never got resolved ultimately and the staff just recommended that I move. Had a couple of incidents beyond my control, but the staff took care of it promptly. The staff overall are friendly and helpful. There is a pool open during the summer and spots where you can grill. They have a gym, but it's small and not properly maintained. The place is kinda pricey, but it was convenient to what I needed. It's worth trying out. I would've given this a higher rating, but I'm basing it off my experience. read more

This sounded like a good idea, gated community, video surveillance, luxury amenities, close to Fort Bragg and reasonable rates. It all turned out bad. The gates spend a lot of time left open because they don't work properly. The video surveillance is sketchy at best, ask any of the residents that have been victim of the thefts of property from the facility, and I mean property like, boats, trailers, cars, bikes etc. Luxury amenities means entry level GE appliances that have seen a lot of use, granite counter tops that are poorly finished and fitted to minimal standards all around. It is just minutes from Fort Bragg, no argument or gripes with that. The rates started out reasonable for the area and quickly went up. I don't mind paying a fair price for quality and service but the maintenance folks are over worked and under appreciated. If it's not an emergency, expect a long wait for service. Now add to that the piles of trash at the compactor and you get the idea why I can't wait for my lease to run out, so I can run out. read more
