Is there a 0 rating? I don't even know where to start with sharing the dismal interaction with this company. We should have listened to our gut and backed out when the agreed upon price was disputed once the work had commenced. A promised 3 day job extended to 5 without completion. The men sent to clean, seal and polish our brand new travertine tile had minimal experience. Though the tile's appearance was improved with their effort, the additional cost to us to repair and repaint our brand new kitchen and bathroom cabinets was not at all worth it. Their equipment and unprofessional work left gouges, (not smears of rubber) , on our shower pan, our bathroom vanity kick plate, polish and grit thru out our new sliding glass door tracks, dirt, sand grit in every room they touched, our new 50K kitchen kick plates gouged by their equipment, the paint on the shoe molding on our new island obliterated by that equipment. The owner came to collect his payment and offered a lackluster clean up attempt himself after the poor performance by his crew. We moved in one week later and noted all the insult to our new millwork and his response was that we were trying not to pay him ( but he already had his money? Horrible company/rep! Had him come out to quote a job at my house he started at 3,000 and when I told him it sounded high and I would get other people to quote he dropped to 2,000 I said still seems high, he leaves my house calls me back 10 mins later "do you want to start tomorrow?" I can do it for 1500!! That's HALF off !! Amazing how people love to over charge!! Should have knew when he walked into my house and said oh we don't charge per foot! I don't give this review lightly because I recognize that it can have a direct impact on the ability of small contractors livelihoods, but I wish someone else had prepared me for this disappointment. After haggling over price (we live in a nice neighborhood--it's not at all unusual for contractors to quote one price over the phone and arrive and have to double it because I can afford to pay it), they told us they'd come the next day at 10:00 am. Two gents arrived at 11:15 and after unloading their equipment, one left, although he'd return from time to time to check up on the other and then leave again. They didn't leave until 1:30 am, and their idea of complete and mine are decidedly not the same, although I must confess I was happy just to get them out of the house. I spent the next 3 days cleaning white crystals and white residue off of walls, furniture, carpet, doors, windows--what a mess. Weeks later I'm still finding it and cleaning it up. I've literally had to repaint all of my baseboards, although I must confess I'm relieved that I didn't have to replace them, as the floor had standing water on it for hours and my baseboards are made of MDF, which wicks up water and explodes afterward. No amount of cajoling could convince this guy that he was using too much water. The tape he used on the floor to adhere the plastic film he'd used as a barrier didn't withstand the flood, so it was ineffective at keeping the water from the baseboards, as well as the residue off of everything else. The working fellow used our microwave twice to prepare himself a meal, which was OK--he was working and put in a long day. However, he left me another mess to clean up. My floors are much nicer than when he started, but I still have hard to reach areas that aren't great--I just wasn't willing to stay at it until 3:00 am to have them properly finish the job. Further, we understood that they would fill the several areas of the crema marfil that have crumbled away over the years, and of course that didn't happen. These guys have some potential--they still aren't ready for prime time. You might get a good deal on having your floor polished, but it will require lots of supervision on your part, and lots of patience as well. Make sure your baseboards are made of a material that can withstand a lot of water, and understand that you may have to do some painting after this process is complete. read more

The guys from Stone Care Solutions did an excellent job on my travertine floors. I have had the floors polished in the past and had less than stellar work, the previous company left a film on the floor then told me to clean it and they did nothing to protect my moldings or cabinets . two years later my floors were dull and had some acid stains from the first company. Stone Care Solutions protected all of my moldings and cabinets. They were very thorough and I was pleasantly surprised at how much shinier the stone looks!
