**Extremely Dissatisfied - Unprofessional and Unreliable** Working with Stone & Sallus was a deeply disappointing and costly experience. I paid them over $11,000, yet they only provided an accounting for $300 of those funds. At a crucial point in my case, they completely failed to represent my interests. In November, they failed to file an opposition to a motion for summary judgment on my behalf. Despite this serious failure, they remained my attorney of record for another five months, finally being relieved in April. To make matters worse, they were a complete no-show at a crucial court hearing during this time. Leaving a client stranded during such critical legal proceedings while failing to properly account for money paid is entirely unacceptable. I would not recommend their services to anyone. In the beginning I gave a glowing review with 4 stars. However Jason Stone actually called me because he wasn't happy with the 4 star rating and wanted me to change the 4 to a 5 star rating. I agreed to do so because he stated that he would help me find an attorney that would take my case. A few weeks had gone by and I had not heard from Jason so I called to remind him to send me the referrals of attorneys who would take my case. He said he would get back with me but thus far I still haven't heard back from him or his office For the first time I was dubbed, that is to say coerced and hustled over a "star rating". Stay away from Stone & Sallus. I cannot express how disappointed I was with my experience with Jason Stone. Despite being his client, he yelled at me and belittled me multiple times. He could not keep the details of my case straight and would constantly forget important details. He would frequently not show up for scheduled calls that he requested in the first place. His team sent a zoom invite with no phone number, only a digital meeting link which nobody attended. I then got multiple emails from him claiming I did not join the call and was man-splained that I need to call the phone number that was never provided to me in the first place. He constantly could not keep his word to commitments he said he would do and overpromised and underdelivered. I would ask for an emailed summary and would get a "yeah yeah" that he would send and would never actually get any emails. He almost never sent any actual email communication and would pass it off to his team members who also did not know the full details of the case or context of the phone calls we would have. I ultimately switched to a different lawyer who was a much better fit who communicated regularly, clearly and professionally. read more

I randomly came across Stone and Sallus' page here on Yelp a little over a day ago and contacted them. Jason returned my call pretty quickly and was very eager to speak to me. I explained my situation to him and he took the time to talk to me in between his meetings. Very polite guy!!! He took the time to let me know that his firm does not really handle cases like mine BUT he explained to me what to expect when I do hire an attorney who specializes in what I was looking for. He addressed the issues I told him about and offered me a few steps that were not only informative but HONEST and that alone commanded my respect. I called in to see if my case would be something this firm is familiar with and what the process would be if they take my case. I very briefly described the type of issue- we're talking a one word description, and the receptionist informed me what type of attorney I would likely need to speak with and that she couldn't get my phone consultation scheduled with him until the end of the week (I called in on a Monday). She also advised that it would be over $600/hour for an initial consultation. That is quite pricey to just get a feel for their firm and if they are a good fit. My 13 month lease was ending and I had decided to move out. 2 weeks before the move out, the landlord says I cannot move out unless I give a 30-day move out notice. He claimed that it is the law in California. Stone & Sallus was quick to respond to my yelp query and provided a brief consultation over the phone without any charge. They asked me questions about my lease-agreement, explained how courts usually handle these cases. Based on this discussion, we wrote an email to the landlord and they agreed to let us move out as planned. Stone & Sallus followed up with us to know if our dispute was resolved.
