When I arrived the day of the event to pick up my order, everything was packed in a way that was easy for me to transport, gluten and dairy free items were clearly labeled, hot items were piping, cold items were chilled, and when it came to the taste and presentation? Excellence. I called five other different catering companies in the greater Lowell area for info and quotes for this event, but Coleman came out on top with their clearly defined prices, pleasant service, and ability to help me out in keeping a crowd of people fed without having to worry about whether or not they would be allergic to something served. I have no personal dietary needs but having family that does, I know how sub-par in taste and texture GF and DF foods can be, but everything Coleman made was absolutely delicious, flavorful, and made with care. There were very, very few leftovers. :) Having never dealt with a catering company for a mid-size event that was being thrown for someone else, my anxiety for making sure everything was perfect was quite high, but dealing with Coleman was such a pleasant experience that it made things very easy despite the pressure. 10/10.

I changed my mind dozens of times about the food, the linens, this and that, and asking so many questions (probably the same questions repeatedly, I'm sure) and through the whole process she never batted an eyelash. She was never flustered, never seemed bothered, and always was extremely accommodating, helpful, and punctual. I will emphasize that she had excellent organization and communication! I was even making changes to the reception one week before the wedding and she was "can-do" all the way. Let me mention that we had ONE month to plan our wedding, and the Tidewater group made the dream come true. The day of, everything was in order, everyone was super friendly and helpful, and they kept their cool even though the weather was super hot. They were quick to check on guests and everyone was so happy with their service and the FOOD! Even our photographer gave them a special shoutout on her Facebook page and told us it was some of the best wedding food she had even had. And let me tell you, for what you get, the prices are incredibly reasonable. We ate like royalty. You won't find professionalism, confidence and warmth anywhere else in NH. At a recent wedding, just such a thing happened, and it was because of Keri's quick thinking and professionalism that this cake was saved. As we went to photograph the couple cutting their cake, everyone noticed that the 3-tier cake was tilting and sliding...... and someone needed to act fast. Keri calmly rushed in and literally held the cake up with her hands with just seconds to spare before it toppled. We successfully got our photos, and Keri quietly and confidently communicated with her staff exactly what was needed to move the cake and save it so it could be cut and enjoyed by the guests. Not only that, but the entire meal service was delicious and savored by all. The butternut squash ravioli with maple cream sauce and candied pecans was especially a favorite!

This has to be one of the best Indian caterers in the area from parties at home to major events and…read moreweddings. But be warned, if you are catering a wedding, a certain degree of trust is needed. We hired Gurnam's to cater our wedding last year and could not have been happier. The food is really homemade and excellent. People still talk about their Gobi Kaju and the Aloo Tikki chaat but everything they've made for us has been delicious. To top that off they are very reasonably priced. We had a bunch of tastings at various places and, to put this in perspective, Bombay club quoted us way more than double Gurnam's price. The waitstaff at the wedding was very professional and nice. I thought they did a wonderful job. But I should also mention that I was a very very relaxed bride. There were one or two minor very minor (in my mind) slips such as there was not enough time to fold napkins so we used paper napkins on the buffet and somehow we only had spoons to eat with (we often eat Indian food with spoons or hands so it was really not a big deal to me). To avoid this type of thing you could easily hire more waitstaff or even just get the food from Gurnam's and hire someone else to take care of the serving/setup. The most important thing was that the food was great . Since then we've also had them cater a party at home for which we just drove up to Merrimack and picked up the food. It's well worth the drive from Boston but you can get it delivered. Again, the prices are very reasonable and the food was so fresh and delicious. Of all the food, the only thing we didn't love was the chicken tikka kababs. Gurnam's seems to do much better with curries and veg dishes. For appetizers it is probably better to stick with something vegetarian. That said the lamb curry and chicken tikka masala at our wedding was fabulous. Now to the trust part. So for the party it was no big deal, we called about a week in advance, placed the order and then picked it up. No problems. For the wedding, we went up, had a tasting but did not taste everything, nor did we choose what we tasted. Mr. Gurnam brought us a big selection of everything they happened to be cooking at that moment and it was all so good. We had also eaten their food before at a friend's party so we knew the quality was very good. But to organize the whole wedding thing, the cutlery, glasses, silver ware, coffee, all that stuff that goes into a big dinner I probably had four phone conversations with Mr. Gurnam's son Bikram. He is very nice but was hard to get hold of. He totally came through for the wedding but if you want to really manage things closely or are the nervous type, be warned. Also, when calling to place orders etc. if you can't reach Bikram it helps if you speak some Hindi or Punjabi.

Being an overwhelmed mom who totally flaked on getting the catering for her son's baptism I had plenty to cry about. I own a business, and balancing it all- family, work, etc. can seem impossible. Kristen answered my call at 7pm on Tuesday. I apologized for being mid-mental breakdown and for the screaming baby. She actually made him stop crying! After 5 minutes with talking to Kristen, it was clear that she gives her work and her customers her all. I'm so glad my random Google search led me to this business. Fast forward- I couldn't say better things about this business. You can tell everyone puts their heart and soul into every phone call, every order, every item of food.
