Great meat market a little pricey, but they do have good deals, this review is on how they handled a problem with a product they sold that we confronted them with... Stittsworth posted on facebook: Deal of the Year- Stone Crab $39.95 per 5 lb. bag!!!! (commonly sold at $30-$45 per pound!! $150-$225 for a five pound bag) I am writing a review on the stone crab claws that Stittsworth meats were selling at a BIG BARGON of $39.95 per 5 lb bag. We were so excited to see this and quickly ordered a bag that happened to get sold as we ordered so they saved us a bag from the next sold out shipment. People supposedly were buying them by the bags, of course at this price, oh yeah!!! Being from the south and my husband visiting Florida a couple of times, we are aware of the wonderful succulent flavor of these little gems. Sweet, juicy and compared to being way better than king crab.. Getting them home we quickly opened them, they said they are best eaten cold, so we took several out and put the rest in the fridge to thaw, first we steamed a couple for 5-6 minutes, dry, dry, dry and this was the claw that was supposed to be moist and sweet. Then they said the knuckles were sweeter but they were dry and fishy tasting, then we grilled a few, Stittsworth said they grilled theirs and they were ok.... ( just ok) well, smoky gilled dry, worse than before, so then we did the out of the fridge thawed, old wet dry course meat, still now sweet and the knuckles still fishy. These would probably do good shelled and put in a gumbo. My husband wrote to Stittsworth again telling them how bad they were and they wrote back that( they did not grow them themselves to keep that in mind) so that was the way it is. REALLY??? Husband wrote back that even though they were not the ones that grew them that they did buy them to sell which made them theirs and they should have sampled their merchandise before reselling to the public. They wrote back and said that they had them in their possession for less than 24 hours. What ever that was suppose to mean. I guess that ment that they were not responsible for their product if they only had them for 24 hours.... REALLY... when my husband tried to comment back they blocked him..... How professional!!!!! Not like we were asking for our money back on some crappy product because normally we are very happy what we buy from them. They do have some good meat and the jerky is really, really good some of the best. But at the moment I am a little disappointed in the way they handled these crab claws. I am supposing by the lack of further comments on the crab legs either the northern folk did not care for them either or they just don't know what a good stone crab claw taste like...... So for the crab claws and how Stittsworth handled the situation I would give them a minus star... but they are a good meat market they just need to take criticism as well as positive comments. read more

Went to their Turtle Lake location to inquire about having some venison products made. Stood in their lobby/office area for several minutes calling out "hello?". No answer, no one at the desk by the door. After a few minutes, I could hear someone opening/closing a desk drawer in an office--called out "hello" one last time thinking certainly they'll come out, but no. Left knowing I made the right decision not to get my product made there - first impressions are important. Alas, I'll take it to my go to place 5 hours away - it's a long drive but I am guaranteed satisfaction. I may one day find a location near me, but it won't be Stittsworth. read more

The breaded chicken breasts behind the meat counter looked really good but ended up being extremely disappointing. I purchased two Chicken Cordon Bleu breasts, only to find out there was absolutely no ham inside. One had a small amount of cheese and the other had none; just an empty pocket that should have been filled. I'm not sure if Stittsworth has no idea what Chicken Cordon Bleu is or the employee who was making them just got lazy. False advertising? Although, they had a few other breaded and stuffed chicken breasts we won't be giv them a try. There's no way of knowing if they are what is described. From now on, we'll stick with things like bacon or pork chops where you can see what you are getting before you purchase it. read more

A few things. Overpriced. Got a waygu New York strip was 16.99 before tax for one piece of meat. One. Then when you get to the register they want a tip? I guess I'm thankful when I get meat from a farm or grocery store they don't ask for a tip, this is so tacky. I will never understand how they expect a tip on already overpriced meat for walking it from a case to the check out. Everything smells sour in there. I've had much better meat from Lueken's or Market place- this is highly disappointing. read more

I brought my deer into the Turtle River location to be processed and packaged this year and was very disappointed with the end result. I ordered 25lbs of brats and 25lbs of ring bologna. The person who took my order wrote down that half of the trimmings were to be "bagged as trim" which I did not ask for, we had a very specific conversation about everything except the backstraps needed to be used to make the ring bologna and brats. This resulted in their not being enough trimmings to make the two different batches, and instead of calling me to ask if I wanted the ring bologna or brats, they took it upon themselves and decided to make the brats. I was shocked to find the 25lbs of brats were put into two large bags and completely covered in frost. To me this looks like freezer burn, I called the location and was told this is not freezer burn. I am not an expert when it comes to freezer burn, but none the less, I don't think anyone can deny that they do not look appetizing or like a good product that Stittsworth claims they produce. I asked why they weren't individually packaged like every other locker me, my friends, and family have been to, and was told this is how they have done it for 4 generations. I had to specifically ask for them to be individually packaged, which I would have gladly paid the additional $25 on top of the $360 charge for them to be packaged correctly. I am now left with two large bags of frozen brats that look like they were pulled out of a snow bank, and need to be cut, wiped off the best I can, and packaged to hopefully save my harvest. I was hoping to be able to share these with family and friends, but do not feel comfortable handing out brats covered in frost that appear to be freezer burnt and unappetizing. Hopefully this feedback and review can save this mix up from happening again in the future. read more

Their Stittsworth Steak is by far the most delicious steak I have ever eaten. There is no waste, and it is thick and juicy. We love to grill Stittsworth Steaks most Friday nights. What a treat for the end of the week! They also have many other delicious products, too numerous to mention. Their prices are very affordable! Love that meat shop! read more

BEST meat market hands down!!! They have a plethora of brat flavors- I suggest you try every one!!! Unbelievable what these guys can do!
