This is the absolute worst company to do business with. It took more than 3 months to get my order and it was laced with lie after lie after lie along the way. I know because she would say the designer didn't have the chart in stock so I would email the designer and not only was the chart in stock but this business hadn't placed an order at all.... so who was she ordering from? Then she had to go to the emergency room... 3 nights in a row... yeah, right. Then she couldn't get to her shop because of the snow. Her shop is literally a few blocks from her home. Please do not order charts from Bobbie and if you are a designer, I encourage you to get payment up front. I am a cross-stitch designer and have been trying to get payment for an order that she received in October of 2019. It is now the end of January, 2020, and she has refused to send payment. I have had difficulty receiving payment in the past, but now she does not respond to emails or messages. In addition, one review states that they received photocopies of charts instead of the original. This is not only unethical, but it is illegal. With holding payment and reproducing charts is the same as stealing from the designer, not to mention cheating the customer out of the merchandise they ordered in good faith. This should always be reported to the better business bureau. read more

I order most of my needlework supplies online. I've order from Stitching Bits and Bobs several times over the last several years. The selection is great, yet I've found that they advertise many things that they don't keep in stock. You pay up front (I use PayPal), but you never have any idea of the shipping time. I can remember only once that everything I ordered was actually in stock. Currently, I've been waiting over 45 days for an order I placed on December 9th. It's the 31st of January, and I've requested a cancellation. Other stitchers I know, who order their supplies online, have made the same comments. Through my communications, the owner has been wonderful, but it still doesn't change the fact that very few orders I've placed were actually available at the time in the store, and didn't have a wait for a minimum of 2 weeks, which was not communicated up front. read more

Unfortunately, my online experience with this shop has been frustrating and disappointing. On September 1st I placed an order for one yard of a specific linen fabric recommended for church linens that is supplied through only one U.S. distributor. My order was placed on back order, and after a month I spoke to the shop owner by phone regarding my order. She explained that she was waiting for the distributor's shipment to arrive with the fabric I was waiting for. While still patiently waiting I discovered in November that the fabric I was waiting for was no longer being carried by the distributor and was replaced with a comparable linen. Hmm, with no chance of ever getting my order filled I emailed Stitching Bits n Bob's owner to cancel my order and get my money back. Receiving neither reply nor refund, I opened a dispute through PayPal. Within the allowed 10 days for the shop to respond, I was refunded the entire amount of my order. If the shop owner had been upfront with me about my linen order and the unlikelihood of her being able to fill it for whatever reason, my review would not have been so unfavorable. Common courtesy and honesty goes a long way. read more

I have ordered twice off the website and both times the time between paying for my order and my order being shipped out took over a month. The first order was made in late December and not shipped until late February. I made my second order, willing to give a second chance, February 1st and I am STILL waiting for it to ship. Whenever I check my order status on the it claims they are waiting for an out of stock item. An item that I KNOW is available from the manufacturer, which is based in the US, and if they needed to order the other it has been three months which is MORE than enough time to receive items from overseas. I have e-mailed and am waiting for a response. If I do not get a response within five business days I will call the shop but regardless of how it turns out I will not be purchasing from this shop online again. While the prices are good, the frustration of the wait and uncertainty on whether you'll get your order or not is DEFINITELY not worth the cents you save. read more

I placed an order on September 17, 2018. They weren't going to ship it because three threads were out of stock. I had to call to get them to ship a partial package four days later. I wrote again October 17 and 23, asking where the rest of the shipment is. I had to call to get someone to answer me. They were still waiting on one thread. It is now December 12, nearly three months after ordering, and I have not heard one word nor received my threads, which have been charged already. Their online store is a joke. I ended up waiting a bit because they were on vacation. When the product finally arrived, I was very disappointed in that it is basically several separate photocopies of what I must assume is the original book/pattern. To have paid a total of $24.50 for a photocopy is ridiculous. I could have purchased an entire book for that price. I wish I'd read the many poor reviews online before ordering from this company! Ordered an item with a 2-4 week delivery time. As I'd had no confirmation or update after 3 weeks I checked the wherebouts of the order via email, which was ignored. After no updates or emails after 4 weeks I emailed again to cancel the order, again no reply to my email. After buying the same items from another seller (which were cheaper & took less than a week to arrive!) I ended up receiving my original order. After emailing to request a refund, this was again ignored, meaning I had to contact the BBB to help resolve this. 6 weeks after contacting BBB, the company finally replied with lots of excuses & ultimately won't give me a refund, even though I cancelled before the order was sent to me! My recent order got lost in mail; I called and actually spoke with the owner - a very gracious lady who figured out what happened and arranged to have it resent priority. I think it arrived ahead of time! Then, there's all the lovely items to explore in their website; a very dangerous place to go. Very bad experience from this place! I placed an order and received part of it. Wrote and asked where the rest of my order was and they answered that it was on back order and that they would ship it as soon as it was available. This was in November 2018 and to this day, I have not received the rest of my order, nor a refund. I did pay via Paypal and opened a case, but it was closed when she responded the first time and promised to send the rest of it. I will never order from Stitching Bits and Bobs again. I ordered two pieces of linen back in May - one was a standard color and the other was hand dyed. I was told on several occasions (by email and phone) that they had the standard color piece and were waiting for the hand dyed. It was difficult to contact them - each email took about 3 tries and I don't even remember how many times I called - they do not return calls so you have to just keep trying until someone actually answers the phone. The bottom line is that I found out four months after placing my order that the standard color had been discontinued and they had never had it. I don't understand the reason for lying - all it did was cost them a customer. read more

Will not even give them a star. Placed an order almost a month ago, still have not recieved due to the fact they had to order half of what i needed. It would have been nice if they had posted that what i needed they didnt have, i would have looked else where. Their customer service is awful. Everytime you call they tell you they are expecting a shipment next week. Well this phone call really set me off. I called today to cancel, and she proceeded to tell me there would be a cancelation fee if i did, because they were in theyre limitations of time. I have to agree with the other negative reviews. I ordered mill hill cross stitch kits on 6/6/118 and it is now 7/26/18 and I still don't have them. I am continually told that they are on backorder. Finally called the Mill Hill supplier and was told all but one of the kits are available and have been available. The other one was discontinued. When I questioned Stitching Bits and Bobs about this, there was no clear answer as to why I am being lied to. "They are going to call Mill Hill themselves" I am now requesting a refund from Paypal. Be aware, you only have 180 days to file a protest with Paypal for a refund, and I think my items would be on "backorder" for 181 days. If these items were a penny I would never order from them again. Not worth the time and trouble to follow up on my order. I have ordered from several other online cross stitch shops and never had this problem If I could leave -5 stars I would!!!! read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! This is the perfect example of an online store NOT to use. I placed my order on April 27 and received confirmation. After hearing nothing at all and the status never being updated, I began to inquire. It did absolutely no good. On May 13th, I received an email stating that some things were ordered for me so that the dye-lot was the same. After that, nothing ever again. On June 4th, I canceled my order as nothing had been shipped or billed and I requested no special orders and in compliance with the posted cancellation policy. On June 5, all of a sudden, someone called and stated that email replies were simply not getting through to me and that I can't cancel my order because of special ordered merchandise. As I was not in the position to call, I wrote back saying that I do not accept it and that my order was fairly and legally canceled. On July 11, the full amount of the original order was billed to my debit card and the order received. I attempted to call the company during their regular business hours only to reach an answering machine that stated they will return my call by the next business day. Not true. No call ever came. A few days later, I received an email (suddenly, emails could get through to me...interesting) where it stated complete untruths about the one call that was made and laying the whole disaster on me. It was also implied that I should have been more sympathetic to the personal problems the owner was undergoing. BUYER BEWARE. Read the reviews BEFORE you use this company! There are other online shops out there that are WAY better. Sadly, I didn't read the reviews first and was stuck in a very disappointing, frustrating and unsatisfactory online ordering situation. read more

Bobbie emailed on 2/5 that both orders had been shipped, one on 2/1, one on 2/9. Received the 1/5 order on 2/14, no sign of the other one. Called and left a message that only one package (the much smaller order) had arrived, asked for a call back or email to resolve the matter. NO response. Suggest that anyone who wants to get threads online go with Rittenhouse Needlepoint or ThistleNeedleworks--great threads, thoughtful service. read more

I placed an order on 4/17/18. On 5/9/18, after weeks of not hearing anything, I emailed asking about my order and was told that several items were back ordered, and they could not provide an ETA on one of the items. On 7/22/18 I emailed and asked if they could just remove the one remaining back ordered item and ship the rest. I received no response. On 9/12/18 I received a PayPal request for the full order, which I paid thinking that the final item had arrived. On 9/27/18 I had not heard from them or received anything, and when I checked my order status online it had been updated on 9/26/18 and still said the remaining item was back ordered. I sent another follow up email on 9/27/18 asking why I had been charged for the order if they didn't have everything and again asked them to remove/refund the back ordered item from my order and ship the rest. My order status was updated again on 9/28/18 stating that the item was still back ordered. I have not received the items I was charged for and the shop is not responding to my emails. I have started the process to file a dispute with PayPal and will not be shopping with them again. read more

On 2/3 I emailed asking when the order would ship, I received an email back on 2/5 stating "We expect to have more of this kit in this week and you'll get an email when your order goes in the mail to you as well." I emailed again on 2/14 asking for an update, no response. Emailed yet again on 2/20, again no response. I submitted a dispute with PayPal and my money was refunded. It seems fraudulent to me that they are trying to sell items they don't have in stock, and to not respond to inquires is troublesome. BEWARE! I have purchased from Stitching Bits and Bobs numerous times. Shipping has always been slow so I usually purchase from 123stitch and I receive my order in two or three days. However, this Christmas I needed a few items to finish gifts that 123stitch doesn't carry so I ordered from Stitching Bits and Bobs. Our family decided to have a homemade Christmas this year, making the delivery of these items imperative. After waiting two weeks and no delivery I contacted the seller explaining the circumstances and she assured me I would receive the order, minus one item no later than December 19th, cutting my time very short to complete the gifts but at least I could start working on said items. The 19th came and went with no delivery and as of today, January 3, I have yet to receive anything at all, not even a return phone call to the various messages I left on the stores answering machine during business hours. I should have checked the Better Business Bureau first, then I would have seen a case eerily similar to mine. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and Paypal. PP has forwarded my complaint to their security department because there have been many complaints of Stitching Bits and Bobs charging customers, keeping the money and refunding the money many weeks later without ever providing any goods to the customer. My children were sad but understanding on Christmas morning when I explained what had happened, but I was heart broken. I will never order anything from this dishonest company again and will relay my experience to others so they may also avoid an experience like mine. read more
