I purchased my Corvette from Stingray Chevrolet Bartow and after owning it for 2 years and 2 months the problems began. They simple could not fix my car and had it in and out of their shop for most of 6 months, mostly in. There was only one tech who was designated to work on it and had to wait for illness, vacations, and parts for weeks. Various times when when I was in there checking on my car, there were others in the service department complaining as well. I would get it back and then after just a few days have to take it in again sometimes towed. If you do buy a car there find a different service department! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Where to begin... So I purchased a used Chevy truck from this dealership. I received terrible interests rates from start (mind you having good credit along with a co-signer who had good credit & money to put down). But I liked the particular truck and needed a vehicle ASAP. We were talked down to by the finance director, RICK DUBOSE who had a poor attitude and non-existent professionalism. Along with the used car manager, KENNY LOPEZ who was the "salesman". An incompetent individual who only cared about making a quick easy sale. Fast-forward...I notice issues with the A/C from the beginning but seemed minor in nature at first, thought possibly a freon issue. Plus it was winter time when I purchased the truck so no real need for A/C then right. I also begin to notice issues with the transmission. So I take it back to the dealership to diagnose the issue in which they try and tell me it will be over $300 just to examine the A/C as well as over $200 to examine the transmission. Laughable right. I explain I'm not paying that as it was there product on their lot and that's how they sold it to me. Yes it's a used truck but this isn't a buy here pay here used car lot. To my knowledge this is a New and Certified pre-owned brand named dealership. So we come to an agreement that I wouldn't have to pay the made-up ridiculous fees, that they would examine it and we'd go from there. After multiple trips to the service center (3 to be exact), mind you just to diagnose/examine the A/C and the transmission. I had to take days off of work to get this fixed. Then when dealing with the inept service advisors, I'd drop the truck of all day and get no progress updates unless I called and when I did I was told how they were on lunch break. If I wouldn't have asked what was being done or for the prices of the mechanical work they would have authorized the service to be done without my knowledge at outrageous rates. They finally fix the A/C but couldn't identify the transmission issues in that it slips from time to time. Throughout all of this I never received a check up from any of the Managers, Owner, Salesman, nobody. It's baffling how my wife who is a nurse and me being a cop in Polk county who both serve the community get treated in such a manner. They will never get our business again, and I've made sure to tell everybody I know not to due business here. I thought the sleezy car sales days were done but apparently not here, they are in full force! It's a take it or leave it kind of dealership that will one day seize to exist. read more

DISGUSTING SERVICE DEPARTMENT. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! I dropped my car off 8 days ago to have two things fixed under warranty which I thought would be a simple process. NO! I was car-less for 8 days after the service manager Amber told me it would be done in two days. As more and more "hiccups" arised that were out of my control and THEIR PROBLEM, I continually endured terrible customer service and the worst communication I have come across, plus a $900 bill which should have only been $300......Do not expect timely updates on your vehicle, maybe no updates at all. Expect the service receptionist to be out right RUDE and not even list to you and then she will forward you to a service manager with a full mail box that automatically hangs up on you. Expect them to find other issues or even cause other issues (they broke my left window and made me pay for it) to your vehicle while they are in possession of it. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR VEHICLE. The dishonest time-lines of when my vehicle would be done left me anxiously without a car trying to get to and from work for eight days TOO LONG. Meanwhile they thanked me for my patience but had no decency to extend any customer service like a discount or even a car wash or detail. oh and need I not forget the rotten smell my car now has since it was in their possession. I arrived torn between two completely different vehicles (the Equinox and the Spark) and sales manager Shane Waters was patient, courteous, and informative. He never attempted to steer me in the direction of the pricier vehicle, but instead guided me toward the purchase that would bring me more satisfaction. When I decided on the 2014 2LT Spark, but set my heart on a hard-to-find vehicle color not currently in stock, Shane and his supervisor James went above and beyond to get me the exact vehicle I wanted, no matter what. For those that don't want to read everything: While I love the truck I bought from them, its an amazing truck (which is why I gave 2 stars), if I knew what I know now, I would have NEVER gone to Stingray Chevrolet of Bartow to even give myself the change of falling in love with something so I wouldn't have ever had to deal with all this. I recommend everyone to go elsewhere. Things that happened to me: 1) I was specific about wanting to see trucks under a certain sale. They showed me three trucks. Ended up that only one of them was on the sale. Of course the one I wanted, wasn't on the sale. 2) While in their office, I found another truck, a used truck, I was willing to buy at the price listed on website. Ohh, that truck also has been sent out and modified, it cost more. Just haven't updated the website yet. 3) I left, I told them what number I would be happy with. The number was based on what I know my credit to be, and what the price of the truck should be after showing me it as a 'sale' truck. 4) Post negative review on Google. 5) Week later, get a phone call, we will meet your number, come in. 6) Get there, and I realize that they didn't lower the truck price like they should have done, they just got me into a really good deal with Chevy financing for 2%. Sure, in the end I'm paying what I wanted to pay for the truck, but the dealership took no fault in the bait and switch they preformed on me. This still feels very dishonest to me. In the end, I love the truck, so I went with it. 7) Guys says hes the owner of dealership, and tells me I got my review all wrong, and that he needs me to change it. I felt bullied, and so I did. But I bothered me, especially as more and more has gone wrong. 8) I moved my tag from my car to the truck, it had registration until Sept 2016. I get the new registration and it has a sticker saying that the tag now expires in Dec 2015. 9 months of lost registration. 9) I call Stingray to find out whats up. Leave message for ****. Never got a return phone call. 10) However, I did get a phone call from Bartow saying they messed up on getting my VIN off of one of the vehicles I traded in. That they were overnighting a package to me to sign and get back to the office as soon as possible. I see how this works. I need something from them post sale, and I don't get returned phone calls. They need something and the world stops. 11) Called back the Plant City office, where all the registration work is done. This time I get ahold of *****. She tells me, that I bought a heavy truck, means my registration is up in Dec. and that I lose all the registration for September. No empathy whatsoever. When I asked about getting a credit for the unused registration, which I was told this by the actual company they use to do their title work, she said she has never heard of that and there isn't anything she can do. So that's it. Done deal. I told her how displeased my experience was with buying this truck, and she did not care, I got the fake sorry, and there isn't much she can do about it response. So here I am, updating this post. This experience was miserable. This is why car dealerships get such a bad rep. If they had just been honest from the beginning, sure, I would not be in the truck I have now, but I would have still bought one, one of the ones on sales. We drove up from Fort Myers for a truck that my husband wanted. Loved the salesman, great customer services until after the truck was purchased and issued arrived. They have not been accommodating what so ever when the issues have arrived with giving us a rental or fixing the issues we have had. We have driven the 2 1/2 hour (one way) drive once for the issue, which was planned over two weeks, they were given two days to have fixed and they didn't know that we were coming so they had to order the parts. So we had to drive another 5 hours back. This time a rental was given they tried giving us something small but it would not work as we had two car seats to put in. A week after having the issue fixed, the issue accrued again. We have been trying to get fixed but when we call to schedule since we have to drive another 2 1/2 hours one way they tell us that they have no rentals and there isn't anything they can do. At this point we are very frustrated with the customer service of Stingray Bartow, seemed like a great dealership to deal with but isn't turning out to be! read more

Where to start paid $770.00 for running boards for my wife's new truck every year the skid pads break off.I talk to parts told them they are defective reply was no they are not we have replaced hundreds and hundreds of them they don't even hear their selves.paid a hundred dollars for air filters and cabin filter change nine months later I checked them myself they were never changed.not only that they never tightened the air box screws back up.we paid almost $900 dollars for a service contract when we bought the truck when we leave from a oil service I have to stop by the parts store and buy oil it's already on the add mark.now the truck burns a quart of oil every 800 miles they tell us that's normal so putting 7 quarts of oil in your truck is normal between oil changes when it holds 8 1/2 so 15 1/2 quarts of oil every 8000 miles is normal. So now we do a oil consumption test they put 9 1/2 quarts of oil in it and tell us to come back in 500 miles alls good it's on the full mark with a dealer like this don't walk away run because they will laugh in your face after you buy a vehicle from them.if you ask them about their oil burning Chevrolets they will lie and tell you they don't and gm has fixed the problem they lie again if anyone wants pictures of this oil burning junk we bought email me I will be glad to show you pictures and the bed of the truck is black coated with oil film .oh and yes we paid for a extended warranty and was laugh at that we don't have a warranty Poohbear4520@aol.com read more

Rocky takes the time to make sure you are comfortable and explains stuff on an easy level that anyone could understand. This is THE MOST HORRIBLE experiences I have ever had with a service department is here at Stingray Chevrolet in Bartow, the first time I took my brand new 2016 chevy Colorado in because the 4wd was not engaging they tried to tell me they wouldn't cover the warranty on it it wasn't until I called the Chevrolet dealership that I bought it from that the issue was taken care of, so then my husband and I bought a brand new 2017 chevy Camaro SS, we drove it for a couple of months and started noticing something didn't feel right with the rear end my husband checked it out and saw that both rear tires were completely torn on the inside of both tires to a dangerous level so bad that the metal that was showing cut through both fender wells on both sides of the rear, we bought two brand new tires and then took it to stingray Chevrolet to see why it was wearing the insides of both rear tires, it took them a total of 20 minutes to tell us that the computer didn't show there was anything wrong, so we show them the old tires and instead of looking at the tires and trying to figure out why this happened they kept over talking us saying that the computer didn't show anything wrong , so does a computer see the damage done to the tires that we replaced I don't think so, it doesn't take common sense to see there is obviously something wrong with the rear end , then they tried to tell us it was the brand of tire, not to mention these are the tires that came brand new on our brand new 2017 chevy Camaro ss, but I guess that how they teach you when you go to school to be a mechanic that if the computer says nothing is wrong then there isn't anything wrong, so like every other time they tell us there is nothing wrong with the car when obviously there is something wrong with the alignment or else it would wear the tires the same all the way across the tire and not just the insides of both tires so now We will take it to Goodyear who won't rely on a computer to tell them something is wrong , before driving it messed up the way it is winds up hurting myself or someone else. read more

I will NEVER be a customer of stingray Chevrolet bartow ever again. They sold me a convertible corvette with a damaged top. They hired a guy to try to fix it but it looks like CRAP after the so called repair. They were willing to give me money towards a new top but asked me if i was willing to have it repaired and if i would have known the repair was going to look so BAD i would have taken the money towards a new top. These guys are NOT stand up guys. I gave them a chance to do the right thing and they BLEW it. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS DEALER UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING SCREWED! read more

Terrible experiences. First I was in the market for a new z71 so I went to the bartow dealership because that's where I live. I tell the salesman that I know what I want and have already got it picked out. He was rude as shit didn't ask me my name shake my hand or anything. We walk over to the truck and I ask what we can do about that sticker price and he's says nothing that's it. I leave go to greenwood in ft. Meade get a fair deal on a new truck from friendly people. However I still use the bartow dealership for oil changes because it's more convenient. Every time I drop my truck for service I ask them to call when it's ready so I can go on about my day. They never call until right at closing time like my time isn't important. This last time I go in ask for oil change and tire rotation. It's 2 o'clock the guys says it should be ready in hour and half or so. At 5 o'clock I call them and of course it's ready no telling how long it's been ready though. I had a slow leak in my front right tire and this morning when I get in my truck I still have a slow leak..... in the front right tire. They didn't even rotate them but I paid for it. The used car sales department is shady. We were looking at a used Honda Civic. I test drove it and was told because my credit score it well over 700, that I would have no problem getting approved. We were there until 9 pm with our two children while they were "doing the paperwork". Next thing we know they come in and say that the finance people have left for the day and to call back first thing in the morning. I called the next day and left a message on VM. When no one called me back five hours later. I called again and was assured by the salesman that he would call me back in 5-10 minutes when he found out what was going on. THREE hours later he calls me back and says that if we have $2000 to put down we could ride today. My husband had previously told him we had no money to put down, and he insinuated that maybe my husband had just been lying. Thanks for wasting our time. We later found out that they had undervalued our trade by almost $4000. read more
