Just did a call to purchase a product at the Nelson Rd. store, which they answered the phone immediately, and upon giving details I was immediately directed to the appropriate dept. Danny was very helpful and going to have someone assemble the item immediately if needed. The head cashier that took my call was very polite and professional. She directed me on how to make the purchase online if needed, to hold the item. I would highly recommend Stines over other big box stores. The reason for this purchase was because of a purchase at one of the big box stores for a gift for my son. It had to be ordered and was told it would be assembled and delivered within a week. He received confirmation of delivery the day before and then the day of delivery he received a notice that the item was OUT OF STOCK, and the purchase was cancelled. Yea, that's pretty bad. I told him they have them at Stines for $50 less.. Yes, Stines was $50 bucks less with their everyday price than the big box who was selling the item on sale for $50 more. I have always been greeted with a smile and immediate assistance when going to Stines on Nelson Rd.. It is and always will be my go to place. read more

Waited 30+ minutes for someone to help me in the paint department. Several employees passed by me and wouldn't acknowledge/offer help. Went to costumer service desk asking if the could call someone for assistance. After saying they would, 15 minutes later still help. Finally I found a manager, he was very nice, apologetic and assisted. The employee who works in the department came back from her lunch and was very kind and helpful. I feel every time I go to Stine's their costumer service is horrible. The only reason I shop there and it is seldom, is due to the convenience of their location. It is sad that it could be a wonderful store but due to poor management and requirements for employees it is not. They want consumers to shop local but with issues like this I can shop at chain stores and receive better treatment. read more

I spent 30 minutes in store to get 4 - 10' PVC pipes that they told me they have. Finally, one new employee in the yard came out and wanted to help me. He was a very nice guy. He wanted to cut a big pipe to make two pieces for me. Unfortunately, they had only one pipe available. Stine need more employees like him. read more

Purchased a large concrete fountain. At checkout was told it would be taken apart and packaged on crate for pickup. Came back about an hour later and told the same employee that I was picking up my fountain. She rudely asked me if it was ready. I told her she was having it prepped for pickup. At which time I was told that was not her job without ever looking at me. Was told to drive to side and ask. After waiting a good time was asked to move my truck by another female employee who did not ask if she could help. Finally a guy came up and I had to help him load fountain in truck as the 2 females watched. Very rude and not helpful women in outside garden area read more

Sure, you will pay a few more cents here than at the national chain big-box stores, but the customer service reps here are very helpful and knowledgeable --something you won't find at Home Depot! Their selection is comparable to the chain stores, and it's clean, organized, and if you need help the staff is usually very accommodating. If you call the store with a question, you will get to speak to someone--unlike Home Depot--and get a timely answer. Their garden center and Christmas display are fabulous. I'd rather spend a little more and know I was supporting a local business that offers satisfactory customer service. read more

Was returning some fittings for our waterline after the winter ice storm because they didn't fit, well apparently the cashier could not find the price and rang it up under rope ( don't know why), and since it was on the receipt the customer service cashier went and told the floor manager who made me see if I could identify which cashier it was that checked me out, I go there a lot and spend a lot of money and they recently added a bunch of new cashiers so I wasn't sure which one it was , and all the cashiers said that they did not remember me and that took about 45 minutes, so then they tell me that they have to check the cameras to make sure I wasn't a thief , another 30 min. They find out which cashier it was and fussed at her while making me feel like a shoplifter! And when they finally gave me a refund it was the wrong amount , she actually charged me for another fitting, I was so embarrassed I just left read more

The people loading material in the warehouse need to be trained better. When you have multiple workers asking each other what is a certain item in a ticket, they are not properly trained. Wasted 2 hours going back and forth between cashiers and loaders. read more

Great customer service! Prices compatible with big box stores, maybe a little higher. But it is totally worth the price to be able to turn around and find a customer service staffer right there. And with a good attitude. They definitely earned my business! read more

Just purchased 50 12"x12" pavers and when the boys outside were loading them they did not take much care to load them. Due to this we pulled over just outside the store to check on how they were stacked and we saw that a paver on the very top of the stacks was cracked in half. After driving back through they did exchange it, however they truly did care when loading them. Will not be surprised to find more damaged pavers when unloading them. Would hope management would address this. read more

At the beginning of the month, my daughter bought and paid for a washer dryer set. To be delivered the next week. Only to be told it was delayed. I went one line to the Stine corp. website to try to find if I could get any info. The asked for the store where it was purchased so they could help. I gave them all the info. and they never got back with me. To this day, she still is going to the laundry mat to do cloths. When she goes to the store all they tell her is it's still on backorder, with no idea when they will be getting any items in. How long after you purchase something should you have to wait and why can't someone give any info. about when it might come in. read more

I'm new to the area and was enjoying shopping at Stine's because it wasn't a big box store and was close to my house. Then I bought a doorknob/deadbolt kit that was defective. No problem. I took it back to the store for an exchange. When I approached the service desk, I could tell that the little tubby chick had an attitude just by her facial expression. I placed the item on the desk along with its receipt and she then went into her whole wise-assed attitude about how my return was questionable and she would need a manager's approval. Ok, fine. But then when the manager arrived and gave his approval, I could hear her whispering to him about me and my return in the negative. Obviously a miserable person. The store itself is great but they have some seriously negative employees. Be prepared. read more
