The old Lake Street Bridge and the old High Bridge were in such disrepair before they were replaced, not to even mention what happened with the 35W bridge. Since that tragedy, we have gotten better. There is the new Wakota Bridge and the new Hastings Bridge, both of which were overdue. However, the bridge most in need of replacing - the old Stillwater Lift Bridge - took way too long to get something to finally happen. Good thing the feds and/or Sconnie probably picked up a large part of the tab. Who knows how long it would have took otherwise? The bridge is the continuation of MN Highway 36 across the river. There is a pedestrian and walking path on the north side with several platforms with nice views of Stillwater. No such path on the other side of the bridge. I let Yelp do an auto fill on the address which gave it a location in Hudson. It should really probably be listed in Stillwater or Bayport, MN or Houlton, WI. Get to work Yelp in San Fran and get a better address on this for me. K, thanks.

It is 4.7 miles of a loop trail from downtown Stillwater to Houlton, Wisconsin. The entire loop is off road, so safe for the whole family-just be sure your brakes are working before you head down the hill to the old lift bridge (it is a HECK of a hill!).

There used to be more antique shops and unique furnishing stores along with quaint restaurants and bars. There is still mostly an old town feel as the newer condos are at the end of the downtown. One zoning problem I have with the aesthetics is the location of Lucky's gas station and convenience store. I wrote a decent review about them once as there is nothing wrong with business, it just sits like an ugly duckling in beautiful downtown Stillwater.

We made a mental note to stop in after our bite to see what it had going on. Cut to an hour later after some good eats we waled into this park. I don't know the history of how this place came to be but it must be interesting. I've never seen a park like it. There were huge concrete teddy bears all over. Kids wee playing around them and we of course took some pics with them. Personally i enjoyed that it was up again the epically large bluffs from the river. the steep cliffs were beautiful and a great backdrop for the park. It's not very large, and there isnt much else to do in the park, but it's definity a spot to stop into and admire.

The place was alive with live music and people dancing. We sat at the bar and our bartender Ashley told us what was on the menu. We had a few beers then the pickles. The pickles were perfectly fried and had a crisp crunch on the outside and a soft inside. Ashley's shift was over, and then came Billy who was another fabulous bartender. He kept the beers coming as we enjoyed the evening.

Bathrooms could use a facelift/upgrade. The middle stall in the women's bathroom (inboards as the sign states) the middle stall door is broken. This place is closed during the winter season and certain times of the year it has some high tide action if the river is high (today was a prime example).
