I requested a physical workbook due to my eyesight and was told to be at the Duluth office to pick it up on Monday by 4:00 (they are not open on weekends) on the day of the class (1/12/26). I left work early and arrived by 4:00 only to find they were closed. I was told the office manager left early and I had to view the workbook electronically. That was just the first red flag. I realized early in the class that the instructor did not seem to like me by his responses to my answers to some of his questions. I was trying to show that I was present and participating, but he was condescending and he belittled/berated me if he disagreed with my responses. By the last day, he questioned in class if the children that I work with even like me (the classes are recorded). This was personally not a positive experience for me. I would not recommend. Finally, the communication appears to be primarily via text messages, and the beginning of the thread seems to be automated (at least over the weekend) since I asked questions that were never answered and the responses were generic. It asked if wanted to participate in another program, but when I asked what it was, I didn't receive an answer. If you text them with issues during the week, an actual person will respond, it just takes a while.

I wouldn't give a Defensive Driving School more than 3 stars since it was the worst day of my life…read more But since I spent 7 hours here, I might as well write a review of its staff, location, and the quality of food. J/k I got a stupid ticket (not a speeding ticket), and I needed to get rid of some points. The class was 7 hours long! We finished the class early, but they made us stay the entire time because I think that's required by the state (to punish us hardened, dangerous criminals who get caught breaking small traffic laws). The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Also, the instructor was fun and tried to make the class interesting. She would give hints like, "pay attention to this part since it will be on the test." Note: if you don't get a 70% or better on the test, you will have to take the class again (and pay another $75). But the test is super easy, and everyone passed. The location was easy to find if you live in the Marietta area. The parking lot is horrendous though. It's the most dangerous lot to drive out of. It would be ironic to get into an accident trying to drive out of your defensive driving class. They also needed to turn the air conditioning up. It was getting pretty hot in the classroom. Their vending machines provided adequate snacks and beverages. The seats and desks were more comfortable than my desks in the lecture halls of Georgia Tech.

I politely asked about their availability in a specific month, and without a peep, she hung up. I guess the business does not want its customers to know about their availability and only wants $$. I am leaving my child's safety to the business who can't answer simple questions nor care to provide decent customer service upfront.

Many of the racist comments were directed towards South Asians and people of Hispanic origin. Karlene also made degrading comments about homeless people, noting how they're "trashing up the place." I respect people's rights to have their own opinions but discussing such things with clients at work is extremely unprofessional. This made me feel very uncomfortable and also fear for my safety. If you are a minority, I would NOT recommend this driving company because if they employed Karlene, I can't imagine the other instructors to be any better.

Their team was very professional from the signup and explanation of the program (Lauren) to the administration of the schedule (Denise) to the instruction (Christopher).
