A short drive up the Northway, to the next exit north of the Inn at Erlowest, and I found myself at this brand-new Price Chopper grocery store. It looked as though they had just pulled down the 'Grand Opening' signs, as this place was still sparkling on the insides. The shelves were fully stocked, the employees were very welcoming, and hardly anyone was inside (although I am sure that will soon change). I made my way back to the deli counter and the ladies brought out one massive tray of deli subs for the groomsmen, a second platter of wraps for the bridesmaids, and a big bag filled with chips and pretzels. They helped me to load up my cart, and then I was off to wander the aisles and pick up some mixers and bottled water. Checkout was a breeze, and again the staff was super-friendly and very thankful that I was shopping with them. This is a fabulous store which will cater to area residents, and tourists coming to explore the Adirondack Mountains.

It was my husbands birthday, so I also grabbed a cake and some desserts for the fam -- the cakes are about what you would pay at Price Chopper, but in my opinion, they appear to be made with more attention to detail. If you're having a hard time finding birthday candles with numbers, they have a huge selection next to the cake counter and some Birthday cake pieces as well. The way to shop at this store is by learning the regular sale days. Tuesdays deals are: $5.00 12 inch pizza $3.99/lb Chicken Breast $5.99/lb ground beef $5.00 rotisserie chicken Fridays deals are: 2 for $5 burgers Each week they choose a different fresh deal, so you'll likely find a deal for $5.00/lb meat.
