(I've been wanting to write a review of this place for sooooo long, but either the experience wasn't visually noted, or I had let my time expire. Without further ado, from Saturday's experience, let the review get verbalized.)
I don't generally come into Germantown often. But when I do, it's always to begin a trip - never end one there. But I had a trip this past Saturday that ended me at the boat sales location less than a tenth of a mile away, and since I had been thinking about getting gas since I left Red Hook for an Uber trip that took me from Tivoli to there, I knew of this place and thought I'd stop in.
But when I came here, something wasn't right. I wasn't feeling myself. It was cool and windy and I was dressed - unprepared - in only a pair of shorts and a t-shirt wishing that the experience was bound to conclude right then and there. But I proceeded.
I entered my GasBuddy card and entered my Driver ID number (used like a PIN) and it accepted it (much like I knew it would) at the pump. However the rest of the experience didn't go over as well as planned. At about 19.96, all of a sudden the pump went off. I thought "Great, maybe I misread my gas tank". I had estimated more than "$20" but something wasn't right. I let it fill to even the score at $20, and let it finish, hung the pump nozzle back up, told the machine I wanted a receipt, and upon it saying it was printing, it never did.
I got in my car and immediately looked at my gas tank. It wasn't completely full to a point where it should have shut off. I think I just incidentally released a bit of the pressure from the pump and it shut off. I mean, I dealt with it the best I could, but it just wasn't the right time for me to make an appearance here. (I think we all have those times when things aren't going the way we plan at any gas station and it picked this time to even it's score...the wrong time at the wrong place, and I'm sorry.) read more
