These days, all that table space is gone in favor of food stations, though they can only do so much here, in a location where they'll probably never be able to sell gas. This morning, I was staying at a nearby hotel which, from past experience, I knew had a mediocre breakfast. My other options were familiar fast food restaurants that have breakfast options. I chose Stewart's because I knew everything would be fresher. The breakfast sandwiches here are pre-made earlier in the morning but kept warm. But you know you're getting real meats and eggs on fresh breads. Their coffee is better than the hotel's and stronger than Dunkin's. Beyond that, it's all the Stewart's products you've come to know and enjoy.

They have frequent special promotions on their ice cream. If you are a regular then ask for the milk club card. The story is a textbook story of a local small town business that started with a single ice cream shop to 350+ convinince store across NY and VT. The store is family and employees owned business still run buy the 2nd or 3rd generation family members. Go local!

I gather they began in Saratoga Springs, NY, and moved into Vermont, as well. We tried this one across the street from the Saratoga Springs Hilton where we stayed, and it was very clean inside (according to my husband who went inside). I had also read they have terrific ice cream, so guess what, we tried some. I stupidly left it up to my husband to "surprise me," and while they are known for amazing flavor choices, and thinking he KNOWS how I like unusual and interesting flavors, he walks out with a mix of vanilla and chocolate. Are you kidding me? It was especially difficult for me to keep my mouth shut because I was pissed off, but he was kind enough to get it for me and bring it out, so I could just wait in the car. I have to say, though, I quickly went from anger at the boring ice cream flavors to extreme enjoyment because it was some of the BEST vanilla and chocolate ice cream I had ever eaten. Truly delicious. I was definitely thinking we'd get some different flavors at other Stewart's Shops in the ensuing days of our travels, but as many as we ended up seeing along our way, we never did stop at any. Don't know why, but we didn't, and so, this was our only time to enjoy their wonderful ice cream !! Next time we are in the area of a Stewart's Shop, I will make sure we can get more ice cream. It's divine.

Of all the Stewarts in downtown Saratoga, this is my favorite. It's bigger inside, which makes more…read moreroom for additional shelving of junk food. The ceilings are high and the parking lot is shaded, giving it an oddly stately ambience. And it's less crowded so more chance to grab a seat when I come in for my deli dogs. (though there's also less seating... minus one star for that.) If you're in town for a convention, go across the street and savor a scoop of local history. Stewart's headquarters is nearby in Greenfield, and the Dake family is a big supporter of local groups and activities.

Lucky is generally a couple cents cheaper, but unless you are coming south on Route 50 you have navigate a long driveway to get there. Lucky also has the famous Crunchy Krispy Chicken, a national franchise with many fans. I tried a leg quarter and an order of tenders and was quite pleased. Ordering is a little confusing if you only want chicken and I think I got charged for meal portions with the sides left off at my request. Anyway, it's very good chicken and I'm glad I checked it out. On a par with Popeyes I would say.

This particular location is a few streets away from Broadway in Saratoga, where you will also find yet another Stewart's. This store was clean and well lit. This is the perfect place to stop in when you forget to buy milk or eggs at the grocery store. Stewart's has their own brand of beer too, it's fairly inexpensive and not too bad. A lot of my friends and acquaintances in the area love the ice cream from here, I would give it about 8 out of 10. There are a TON of flavor options!! This is definitely an inexpensive place to pick up a tasty frozen treat for a price that won't break the bank. Good place to take kids and you can use your debit/credit card, some of the mom and pop ice cream stands require you to have cash. You can buy pre-packaged cartons of ice cream or get a cone/sundae. So if you are wandering Saratoga and looking for ice cream, I recommend giving this a try over Cold Stone. You will probably save a few bucks!

Stewart's sells ice cream plain and simple sure they've added products over the decades but ice cream and Stewart's go hand in hand. I think this is an issue corporate should look into as far as their refrigeration units for ice cream go. I hope it is merely something that can de addressed easily and not a customer service issue of not wanting to try to scoop hard ice cream. I've never had this happen at any other Stewart's in Schuylerville, Saratoga, Gansevoort or Ballston spa.

This was the pharmacy "assigned" to my mother after the nearby…read moreRite Aid closed, so she wanted to make sure they had all her medical and prescription information - which they did. The pharmacy seemed to be the most staffed part of the store, there were more behind the counter than any place else in the store. That's partly because of all the unmanned self-checkout kiosks in the front, somewhat crowded with a lot of other displays, service counters, and devices, many of which had "out of order" signs on them. The dark colored carpet and the dim lights add to the dreariness.
