I have legimate walking challenges and cannot park far and bring my dog to park to exercise her. Fully capable able bodied High School students can walk to other parking lot for their cars. The High school students are too lazy to park in parking lot at Hazelia dog park. Why have a high school which students attend where you cannot park at the school of have permit parking makes no sense. So many students are fully able bodied capable of walking to big parking lot to get their cars yet they wanna take up spaces by dog park because too lazy to park in parking lot and take the spaces away from a disabled person who has walking challenges. Yes there's handi cap spaces in parking lot but its far to walk. Its very fustrating the High School students taking up the spaces by dog park.

As an education professional and someone with many friends in education, I offer some bold words:…read morethe opinion that Lakeridge may be the best public high school in the state. Recent scandals involving the football program notwithstanding, students continue to excel at Lakeridge. The school is filled with caring and knowledgable teachers and staff, and students know this. I truly believe that the positive mentoring relationship between students and staff is valued by both parties. A final note: if I had teenagers, I would move just to make sure they attended Lakeridge.

This school is still terrible regardless of the new principal or whatever "changes" they claim they…read moremade. Most of the staff is the exact same, and students still get away with way too much. A couple years ago, a student punched a girl so hard he shattered bones around her eye and permanently affected her vision, and the punishment was basically nothing. He stayed at the school and only got suspended for two days. That alone says everything about how this school handles serious situations. The environment thereis awful, bullying and violence are not taken seriously enough, and the administration cares more about their image than actually fixing problems. Deleting the old Yelp page to wipe bad reviews instead of addressing why people were leaving them is honestly embarrassing. A new principal does not magically make this a good school.

SO RUDE!!!!!! During the test he answered phone called, made phones, talked to her and was LOUD which would be difficult for anyone to concentrate to take the test. After he corrected the test he said well you didn't pass so you'll have to come back and see me, but you still owe me $25. SO IRRITATED THERE ISN'T A CLOSER PLACE TO TAKE THIS TEST WITHOUT DRIVING OVER 2 HOURS. This guy is very inappropriate, rude and VERY unprofessional!!!!!!

Students with invisible illnesses fall through the cracks as it seems training, funding and support for this area is lacking. There is a lot of misinformation flowing regarding laws, policies and procedures for those with disabilities. We will miss many but would not go back but also now know what to look for in the future to have a better experience.

Our kids have been at Marylhurst for three years, and they're thriving academically, socially, and…read moreemotionally. Our fourth grader is reading at a tenth-grade level, and our first grader is doing second-grade math--but more importantly (to us), they LOVE their school and are having an awesome experience. The teachers are just exceptional. They're all deeply attuned to each child's learning style and emotional development. The narrative reports we receive twice a year are so thoughtful and insightful that it's palpable that our kids are really KNOWN and appreciated for who they truly are. Their personality quirks, the edges where they're being challenged by a concept... it's all there. The teachers seriously SEE our kids. All of the teachers we've had has been experienced, compassionate, and connected with the kids. But the best part is that our kids have fallen in love with learning, which is what we hoped for most. Our oldest was quickly becoming an anxious perfectionist at a public school in kindergarten before we made the switch, but as soon as we moved to Marylhurst, he began to expand into a flexible, growth-mindset oriented student who understands that mistakes are one of the best ways to learn. The kids get to learn not through endless worksheets or computer programs, but through student-led projects that often turn into elaborate, imagined worlds. Since the kids own so much of the process together, they are invested in their projects, and learn to collaborate across ages in blended classrooms. And the campus is beautiful; it's woodsy and peaceful, with a pond and forested trails for cross-country running. We couldn't be happier with our kids' experience at Marylhurst. It's a nurturing, inspiring community that fosters curiosity and confidence. 10/10, five stars.
