So despite a perfect 5 stars because I still argue about them not being open Sunday and Monday and can't keep A 4 star updated review I came back solo to try their expensive $50 beef Wellington. I have had been wellington before homemade by my eldest sister who made it two times and 1st time was good and second Time was terrible but trying there beef Wellington was a super wow! What is this good thing I tasted? And I mean wow. So the beef they use and cooked is very soft and tender I mean really tender and soft to chewing. As for the dough that they use compared to my sister still this was like eating a light croissant. It really complemented with the texture of the beef. I was really amazed and I guess it is worth the $50 if if this is the best that I've ever experienced. I had ordered some fresh broccoli which was delicious with the sauteed garlic's and portobello mushroom which was delicious too but then again I came here before as a group and I was not disappointed since my company paid for it the first time. I just didn't have opportunity to try the beef wellington cuz I was already too full with their steaks and lamb chops that we ate as a group and it was surprises at the cost of the menu. I finished my meal and ended it with a tiramisu gelato which was okay it wasn't terrible but was curious nevertheless. This really should be a four-star updated review and the reason why is because I can't do an updated review with just the same four stars. I do recommend coming here for their Wellington and their steaks and lamb chops next to their other sides. Thank goodness it's not as expensive as Gibson's in Chicago or in oakbrook and I've been so expensive steak houses in my lifetime. The reason why I still want to keep four stars is that they're closed Mondays and Sundays and so they're availability of dining in is what gives me the four stars out of five if they were open out of convenience for my friends and family to treat out I would take them here from Chicago to Gurnee in a heartbeat to experience what I experience especially my sister who makes beef Wellington to experience how it tastes like read more

Brian was our server tonight and everything was absolutely perfect! The food was amAZING and the service was quick and friendly. Went there for graduation and I had an awesome time :) we ordered the appetizer tower with oysters, sliders and calamari and the ahi tuna salad, red snapper w cream spinach and a glass of cab. It was packed but we got seated IMMEDIATELY with the reservation system and even then, there were still tables available so whoever's in charge of seating is doing a phenomenal job. Went here last night for moms bday. Old school supper club vibe. Dark interior, room temp was cold, everyone scrambling jackets. The exterior was cute with fall plants. The staff was very nice, knowledgeable, and attentive. Moderately priced. For the food, mixed bag. We had 6 persons we were able to try a few things. To start with the good: Appitizers we had the oysters , plump and fresh, the calamari was crispy and well cooked and lastly the tartare , was tender , but not much flavor. For the entrees: the seabass was well cooked and tasty. The short ribs were perfectly cooked and falling apart with a cherry sauce, a little sweet but fixed with salt. We had the snitzle and spatzle as a special, perfectly cooked and hot. The scallops , 6 perfectly cooked and delicious. Now for the less successful, the bone in ribeye, although the flavor was ok, the steak was tuff, not a prime ribeye that you get in chicago. I'm Dissapointed for the $60 price tag. Lastly, seafood parpadelle, this was the worst dish of night. Most of the seafood was ok. The shrimp were inedible(unfortunately moms bday dish) it should not have been included in the dish and ruined the dish. The sauce and scallops were good. Lastly, the pasta was not homemade. For desert, we had chocolate creme brule. Was was and chocolaty. Reminded us of the molten chocolate cake that everyone does. Tasted good and was warm out of the oven. Overall, the food and atmosphere was good and service attentive. The menu was dated , and the wine list was good and easy to choose from. Cocktails were standard fare. The food, the service and the atmosphere is absolutely incredible. This is one of our go to restaurants for date night in Lake County. We always start with the three tier appetizer and will always include the calamari as one of the three. That calamari is to die for. For our main course we've had everything, lamb, steaks, lobster, chicken and even the pot roast. We've been satisfied with all of them. We are especially satisfied with the attention that you made to all of the side selections. We are forever ordering so much that we've never had a chance to try the desserts but I promise that we'll eventually go with a lighter meal in order to make that happen. This was our first time here after having friends tells us it was so good. Our server asked if there was an occasion, our Anniversary. There are so many delicious sounding items on the menu. We decided to try Steven's based on their 4.1 rating. Warm welcome by the receptionist, with a relaxed feel. We invited new friends to enjoy the night at a local steakhouse. Presentation was nice with a bubbly server Guadalupe. Their wine list was average. I picked out the most expensive Piñon noir they had on the menu for our get together. They brought out a bottle they confirmed was the one I chose from Santa Rita Hills California. It was not the $90 bottle but a bottle at $50. She insisted this was the bottle. It was a lessor French wine. I felt a bit perturbed as it was not the correct bottle and she tried to pass it off as the $90 wine. She returned the bottle to a gentleman who discussed the bottle then returned with the correct bottle. She said it was the last bottle and did not have any more. When I walked by the wine area after our experience there appeared to be another. We purchased two different bottles with the second a cheap inferior bottle. We ordered appetizers and dinner. Having a nice night out. After salads and apps, dinner arrived. The risotto was not good, with the fish. Over cooked. My friends ribeye was cooked correctly but a bit tough. My wife's meal she said was ok. Not your greatest moment as they say. Then came my experience. My medium rare steak came out last for our table and was well well well done and burnt. By the time I received my dinner everyone was finished. They also charged me for the steak and NO MANAGER came over to say anything. This is how you treat your better customers who spend $500 there for a party of 4. Flemings, Ruth Chris and Primo would be great recommendations, even if it's a farther drive. Service was definitely good and attentive. I got a couple of different dishes. The Stevens salad was just ok because it way too sour and the walnuts were not crunchy. Their favorite appetizer grilled squid was very tasty and yummy. By the end., I couldn't really finish the shrimp scampi pasta. It was delicious. So this is really a review for their lunch menu... I have been here 4+ times, because its a nice place to go to lunch for special occasions... normally don't spend more than $10 for lunch unless there is social factor... or someone is treating me... ;-)... Anywhoo... the grilled calamari here is usually AH-MAZing... soooo good its a mouthgasm. That is always my go-to appetizer and back then I would usually get the steak salad which was always good... I wasn't expecting much but I was wrong. Their steaks were delicious. My colleagues and I are extremely picky about our steaks. Most places we give steaks 3/5, but the steaks here were 5/5. The price and quality of the steaks were perfectly matched. Ribeye and filet mignon were cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Tender and juicy, you can eat the entire fat on the ribeye as well. Other dishes, such as the calamari were great, while some were a bit of a miss. Overall, go here for the steak! read more
