I made an appointment for a consultation and was able to be seen quickly, however that appointment had to be rescheduled and the delay for that appointment was quite lengthy. Once I arrived to the office I was not seen immediately. It didn't appear there was a dental emergency. just more appointments that there were hands in mouth. I finally was taken back to a well used exam room and subsequent trip to x-ray as I was a new patient. To this point, my review was a solid 3 stars at best. Then I finally met Dr. Elliott. I was very, very impressed with his interpretation of what I was going thru and we did have a few candid moments of proposed treatment which in all honesty I was expecting. Now I am on the wait list to get another appointment. Sigh, honestly, this is a first for me, being put on a wait list, so like in the airlines, if I don't get cleared for a seat, I'll have to go to "plan B".

While I understand the business decision to drop my insurance, I am very disappointed that after 18 years of care, I was not told until 4 1/2 months after they initiated dropping my insurance that I needed to find a new dentist. They were very aware, cleaning appointments are being scheduled 8 months out. Sure enough, when I started calling around, the next appointment I could schedule is February, 9 months out. Basically I'll be paying dental insurance this whole year without anyone in my family being able to see a dentist.

I was surprised at how easy it was to set up a new appointment. I have been a few times now and here are some of my favorite things about this practice. 1. Its clean, comfortable and wait times are never long. It helps that HGTV is usually on in the lobby because I don't get to watch it at home! 2. I get the same hygienist every time. I've been three times and had the same lady clean my teeth. I really like her. I am not sure if this is intentional or a coincidence but it makes me feel more at ease knowing what to expect and by who. 3. The text message reminders! Part of my issue with getting my teeth regularly cleaned was scheduling it. I would always forget and was never comfortable scheduling in advance because I HATE cancelling appointments and my employment can be unpredictable. They text and remind me of upcoming appointments a week in advance, giving me time to adjust if needed. I highly encourage people to check them out. They also offer sedation for people who need that for their dental visits.

I was very nervous since I had not been to the dentist in a while and because I did not yet have dental insurance. I was running about 15 minutes late because it was further away then expected and I got stuck at work. They let me back and did not give me a hard time about this at all. The dentist I saw was the son of Dr. Wright. He was super personable and helped me be at ease. He numbed me up so well that I had no pain during the procedure and did not even have to take any pain meds after. The best part was he didn't even charge me full price, he only charged me what people normally have to pay out of pocket after their insurance pays their portion. Naturally after I got insurance I didn't hesitate on who to go back to when I needed the rest of them pulled and a cleaning. The cleaning I needed was more intense since I hadn't been for one in a while. They contacted my insurance while I was with the hygienist and let me know what part was covered and exactly how much to expect to pay out of pocket. When I came in to do the procedure I again felt no pain before or after and this time it was Dr Wright and a hygienist! Dr Wright even took some money off because I had had a bad day (someone hit my car and tried to take off). The 3 times I have been there have been fantastic. Now after 2 cleaning sessions and a very simple tooth extraction I have been billed an additional $657.00 with no advisement or explanation. Aspen is not a member of BBB. Many nationwide complaints. I am currently disputing the upcharge. I will contact my insurance company.

They claimed they lost power after a storm the night before and only had 3 rooms working. Somehow, they KNEW that and felt confident in failing to mention it literally ANY time before arrival and/or check-in. They actively chose to inconvenience their patients by making them waste time/gas driving to their office, waiting in the lobby and thinking they were going to move forward with their appointments. I was not the only patient this happened to, as they were talking over each other at the desk discussing other patients they needed to cancel on. I drove over 45 minutes to get to this appointment by the way after being awake all night after the previously mentioned massive thunderstorm. All of the traffic lights were out and I drove in danger to arrive to my appointment on time. They knew they didn't have power and still chose to cancel on me 15 minutes after I checked in in person. All they did was "thank me for my patience" like I had any other option. Then they had the audacity to reschedule me for AUGUST. They have completely ruined and warped my perception of them and I will never be a customer here again.
