He was gently.. he wasn't the issue. I keep getting a bill for X-rays that I already paid a co pay and was billed for.. I felt like they tried to add services without asking me.. they pre approved my treatment so why this X-ray bill? I was referred to an oral surgeon by my dentist. There was a spot under my tongue that needed further investigation. I had to do some research, as my health plan is out of state, in order to find an oral surgeon that would be covered by my dental policy. I was given Steven Mantegari's name from a service rep. I checked him out on Yelp and he had very good reviews so I scheduled the appointment. I'd been thinking about this for week's, wondering and worrying. Upon arrival I was greeted by the receptionist who asked me to fill out some health forms. The waiting room was small but clean with the television. I completed the paperwork and was back in the exam room within a few minutes. Dr. Mantegari was nice and made me feel comfortable. He took a look at the spot and advised that looked like scar tissue and there would be no need for a biopsy. Yay! This was the best part of my Monday! I did have to pay for the office visit as my policy only covered two a year and I used those at the dentist for my cleanings and exams. But they accepted payment for what my insurance company would have paid for the visit so it was not bad. I am thankful to Dr. Mantegari for easing my fears and giving me some peace of mind back! My daughter had her four wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Mantegari. We drove in from Savannah. The office is in a Publix strip mall so there is plenty of parking and places close by including a Starbucks. The office waiting room was small but very clean with a tv. There is one unisex bathroom in the waiting room. The front office staff were very friendly. The doctor and the assistants were very kind. They were patient and answered all our questions. They also keep me informed as to what was going on once the surgery started. They were very organized and professional giving us very details instructions and print out of what to do pre and post-op. They also sent us off with plenty of gauze. They did a great job of making us relax and feel taken care of. The whole experience took about an hour and a half read more

My husband needed oral surgery to have some teeth removed due to infection. My husband was in extreme pain and needed something done fast. My husband currently has Aetna DMO do it's very particular of who he can see in network, I called around and was given Dr Mantegari's office number. Amy, the front desk assistant, was very helpful is informing me to get an emergency referral from the insurance to have him seen right away but without a guarantee of removing any teeth... She promptly scheduled us in for an appointment an hour later. When we came in, we checked in, and filled out paperwork which wasn't a lot and he was seen about 10 minutes in for x-rays and they decided to do surgery for him right then and there. They did a local anesthetic and extracted to teeth. We are so grateful to Dr Mantegari and the staff for their prompt and efficient service in helping my husband resolve the issues that have kept him out of work due to the pain he had. They were readily available after we left for any remaining questions we had regarding my husband care and were just so sweet. I went to Dr. Mantegari as I was having a very strange growth in the roof of my mouth. While I believe that he likely did a good job with the surgery, I do have the following issues: 1 - I never received a call from their office after the surgery to see how I was doing. I called their office about a week after the surgery and to said "You must be dying to know how I'm doing." and chuckled, but got dead silence. I then asked if they normally called patients to see how they are doing and she said not will my type of surgery...Really?, a chunk of bone was removed from the roof of my mouth. I then explained that it appeared there was still some growth going on. 2 - When I went back to the office the next day, Dr. Mantegari (Dr. M) looked at the roof of my mouth and said everything looked good. Fortunately the growth seemed to stop and it was easy for me to remove. Then Dr. M literally read what the pathology report said. He might as well have been speaking a foreign language. Surely he must know that the average person does not understand medical terminology...Then essentially he told me that everything was fine. To date, I have no idea what I had. read more

At first I didn't know if I was at the right location. I was looking for a sign from Great Expressions, but all I seen was dentist. I was impressed when I walked through the front door. The waiting room looked so comfy. The staff was very nice and professional from the time I stepped foot in the door until I left. The dental assistant was very sweet. I'm resting comfortably at home right now as my mouth is slowly coming out of numbness. I find a lot of value from reviews deciding who or which company to go with so I had to write one for Dr Mantegari's office. I would highly recommend Dr. Mantegari & staff, they are very friendly, professional & extremely ethical. I had to have a molar removed and plan on having an implant put in a few months down the road. Obviously, I was anxious & nervous- not sure who would not be but after I was numbed up I would almost say that Dr. Mantegari had my tooth out in under 90 seconds. I felt absolutely nothing!! Ok I felt a little bit of a tug a couple of times but NO PAIN!!! His assistant Teresa is awesome as well- they both were willing to take the time to make me feel at ease. As I was setting up my appointment I spoke with Amy who is the only one the informed me of something called "hot tooth" which is an issue if you have an infection Novocain may not numb- fortunately, I had been on amoxicillin a few days before my appointment so the infection was receding when I had my tooth pulled. A week ago, I needed to get my wisdom tooth removed and I was referred to Dr. Mantegari's office for an evaluation. I've never had any teeth extracted so I was a bit worried. The front office staff are very friendly and efficient with everything. After filling out the new patient paperwork I was in the back within minutes. The assistant went over the procedure, aftercare, and who to call if I had any problems and asked if I wanted to get it removed today. You mean like, right now? Sure, why not? An order was placed for pain meds at my local pharmacy right away. Dr. Mantegari came in and explained what he would be doing and he went to work. He stated I was the best patient he ever had since I didn't flinch or holler, but I'm sure the lidocaine given to me beforehand helped that. In about 5 mins, my tooth was out, gauze in my mouth, and I was out the door. A few days later, I felt I was running a fever and in serious pain. Calling the after hours phone line connected me directly to Dr. Mantegari who explained to me what was going on and gave me some home remedies to try. He was very patient and friendly on the phone and let me know that it was ok to call back if I had any further problems. Now, the pain is gone and feel fine. Thank you Dr! read more

Words can't express how impressed I was with Dr. Mantegari and his staff. They informed me of the process (wisdom tooth removal) and gave me everything I needed to prepare for the visit including comfort especially since I am terrified if the dentist. Dr. Mantegari instantly agreed with my spirit he answered all of my questions without me asking them believe that!!! I had no pain at all!!!! I followed the post surgery instructions and all was well. They also found a error in my billing and corrected it right then.
