I have been a patient of Dr. Silvers for the past 20 years. Dr. Silvers is a kind, courteous professional, who listens to your questions and answers them in a frank manner. Dr. Silvers delivered our first-born daughter Nina in Feb 2005 and, 2 years later, our son Kian in Mar 2007. Both times, he performed a C-section (I was hoping for natural birth without anesthesia, yet life had other plans for me), which I recovered from as fast as it is humanly possible - I had zero complications from both procedures, for which I am beyond grateful to him and his OR staff! Visiting Dr. Silvers practice is a pleasant experience from beginning to end: being welcomed and checked-in by Jenny, followed by Rose inviting you to step on the scale, drawing blood and handing you the "fancy" disposable gowns while escorting you to your exam room, to being checked-out by Evelyn (with whom we always chat for a few minutes to catch up on what our kids have been up to since my last visit). And let's not forget Becky, who will help you take care of medical bills/insurance-related issues. I came to my confirmed appointment with Dr. Silvers just to find out that his practice does not accept my insurance anymore. All I need was to extend my prescription. The staff asked if I was willing to pay for the appointment from my pocket. I said I wouldn't, didn't even see the doctor. Then I had to find another doctor who accepts my insurance, it took me awhile to get an appointment, and I ended up not having my medication for about two months. I addition, later on I found out that Dr. Silvers office charged my insurance for that appointment that never happened. read more

I was made to feel like a walking $$$ and was told by the front desk "my love if you do not bring payment in hand when you come in for your appointment Dr Silvers will not see you. Not to be rude but maybe you need to cancel your appointment". I was a patient for 7 years and this office has changed. The front desk needs training on how to speak to patients. I put a star but only because you have to but this facilities staff was absolutely the worst experience, I work at a Gynecology office, I called to follow up on my patients records as my patient was in the office. Staff unprofessional hanging up the call several times to myself and the patient who was next to me. Patient changing providers due to feeling uncomfortable and feeling brushed off by the entire staff including the doctor, the results were critical and they refused to send when we had sent a request two weeks before her appointment. I encourage anyone that is looking for a OB/GYN not to waste their time or money because I don't feel this place should be running with the lack of bedside manners and professionalism from the entire staff. Yep should add a "minus" star to the reviews template. That's what this doctor deserves. He was my doctor for my first baby. Way into the pregnancy I realized he wasn't the most caring doctor but rather the opposite. I was treated as a number not as a patient. He proposed to induce me after one day of my due date to which I agreed to. I arrived to the hospital the day/night before and given the meds to start labor. I was in excruciating pain between 1am - 7am and he was nowhere to be found no matter how many times my husband tried to reach him or asked the nurses to contact him, I asked for the epidural and they wouldn't give it to me without his approval apparently. So he finally showed up at 7am and there was no time to even setup the bed to give birth he told me that the head of the baby was right there and I had to push, after 3 pushes my beautiful, perfect baby was out. I tore down there and the pain was horrendous to say the least but not as much compared to when he started putting stitches there without using proper anesthesia !!!!! My experience was such A NIGHTMARE that I didn't want to get pregnant again, that was until I found an awesome doctor that really took the time in every appointment to listen and to answer all my questions, a doctor who was caring enough to make sure that my second delivery was the way it should be, and it definitely was!!!!!! I know I'm not the only one who went through that same nightmare with Silvers, so to those that are still on time to change doctors here's my advice: DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM SILVERS NO - MATTER - WHAT!!!! P.S.: when he came later in the day to check on me (after I had fainted, put on oxygen and a huge inflatable sort of warm blanket) he had the nerve to ask if we wanted a photo of him, the baby and me, to which I said NO of course. Horrible experience at a high cost. This doctor was recommended to me by my friends, but I would recommend to run away from him. I luckily switched in the middle of my pregnancy. 1) The visits lasted 4 minutes (literally), to my questions I got replies in the mode: yes, no, next question 2) In the first visit even before seeing the doctor, the nurse literally forced me to do genetic testing - 113 tests. I questioned this and she pretty much said that the doctor in any case would ask for these tests. They use Natera lab, which is out of network for me - no notice of that. The bill came to me 1 year later - for $12,000+. 3) The results of genetic testing were available 3 weeks after I did the labs, but the doctor's office held it for another few weeks before I received a message from them - your husband should immediately do one test because you have a positive marker. I was already on week 11 or so, and my husband was traveling. So we came to the doctor's office 3-4 weeks after we received this notice for the checkup and these labs. The doctor yelled at me and shamed me that it took us so long to come. When we challenged the timing of the test results that came to us, he went to his staff and yelled at them. I was crying during this visit. He shamed and scared us for nothing. 4) The doctor scheduled screenings too early twice, so I had to redo two of them. I believe this is by design to make you come again and charge more. read more

Dr Silvers delivered my baby a month ago. I could not have asked for a better doctor. He knew I was anxious throughout the pregnancy (who isn't?) and did everything he could to minimize my stress in his relaxed, carefree manner. During COVID, his office was managed very efficiently to minimize contact in the waiting room as well as wait times, and he still didn't decrease the frequency of my appointments. When it turned out that I needed an induction, he was decisive and confident, and I didn't need to make any tough decisions. His method of induction worked, and based on the way my body was acting, I feel most doctors would have done a C section and called it a day. But Dr. Silvers had confidence in his methods and in me, and we were able to avoid that. Some others complained of long wait times in the office, but this only happens when Dr. Silvers is in the hospital checking on a patient. If you were the patient delivering a baby, you'd be happy he was there! In 9 months of visits, I only had a long wait time about 3 times. So, it is the exception rather than the rule. All in all, highly recommend Dr. Silvers to take you through your pregnancy journey. Also, have to shout out to his amazing staff. Hope to be back in a few years for baby #2. read more

Dr. Silvers delivered our son and I can't say enough about what a great Dr he is. Yes, he is direct but frankly that is what I want from a Dr. Tell me what is going on with no BS, I can handle it. He was recommended by 3 friends who did not know each other and they all said the same thing, he isn't warm and fuzzy but he is incredibly knowledgeable and is the Dr you want there if things don't go as planned. He has an extremely low (for Miami) c-section rate which is great if you want to try for a vaginal delivery (which I did successfully). I have been going to Dr. Silvers for 16 years & always enjoyed his quirkiness. While I had the ideal pregnancy I gave birth to a baby with medical needs so rare there have probably been a few cases back in 2002 in Mt. Sinai. Not only did he make one last phone call asking for my last stats in bloodwork & such but he was soothing and calm prior to the events that unfolded. As a scheduled C-Section due to baby's positioning he was compassionate & checked up on me every day while at the hospital after the surgery. I stayed longer than most C-Section patients. He is a straight shooter & to the point. Drops a few options but ultimately leaves it up to you to decide. Make sure to have those questions handy because he will have a brief window where he will ask "any questions" & if you pause too long he'll think you're good to go. I had to transfer to the other doctor at 10 weeks pregnant because my experience was awful. To summarize, after every appointment with doctor Steven Silvers you receive an email summary of your visit.. I had a perfect pregnancy, and after one visit I opened this email and saw something about risk of miscarriage. I almost died. My heart was racing, and i ran to the bathroom and threw up. I got so scared because doctor didn't say anything to me about it. I called the office immediately to find out what was happening, and the lady on the phone told me that there is nothing to worry about and they just put it there for some billing purposes so insurance covers the visit and the ultrasound that he did. Omg.. what the hell. Insurance fraud? I actually took a picture of that email to have evidence. But then I decided to drop it and not create any extra stress for myself. But I don't recommend him to anyone. How can a doctor and his staff do something like this to a pregnant woman.. send an email like that??? read more

He has delivered thousands of babies and the photos and cards overwhelming his office walls make me certain he will be just what I need for my first delivery expected Dec 24th. The office has changed the bill from "exam" to "consult". One can find more information on my experience online with the Better Business Bureau. They office says they will remove the lab bills (for labs I never had) if I pay them their adjusted "Consult" office bill. LabCorp is holding the bill until we find a resolution. The new code Dr. Silvers is billing for is CPT code 99243. After insurance, this is $10 less than what they previously charged after weeks of disputing. It is incorrect to charge me for CPT 99243 when I was not in consultation with Dr. Silvers for more than a few minutes. 99243 reflects a detailed examination, a detailed medical history and medical decision making which should take place within a 40 minute time frame. To charge for, and claim Dr. Silvers can complete a detailed exam and detailed history in 3 minutes is wrong. In addition, the office is failing to release my medical records in which I requested by mail. It is a violation not to release medical records at the patient's request in the way the release was requested. I would like to confirm that this is not a complaint against my insurance for not covering their services. I have no dispute with my insurance. My dispute is with this office incorrectly coding and billing me for services never rendered. I will not resolve my complaint until the following three things take place: 1. The lab charges are completely dropped. This should have already taken place in your change from "exam" to "consult" and the bills should have never existed in the first place as I never had labwork done in your office. 2. My medical records are released to me by mail, as I requested by notarized and certified mail. According to legal counsel, you are obligated to meet me on this request and I should not have to go to your office to retrieve my medical records. 3. Bill me the correct "consult" time. If it is any more than the lowest amount of time necessary for a "consult" and doesn't reflect the appropriate services I had rendered, I will again dispute the bill. If the office meets my requests, I will remove my complaint from BBB as and other businesses in which I have sent my complaints, and upon review of a new (and appropriately coded bill) I will consider moving forward with payment. Should the office be unable to find a code that reflects my three-minute consultation without medical history or exam, the office could drop the charges and I will withdraw my complaints. read more

I can't say enough about how much I deeply appreciate and admire Dr. Silvers. Honest, knowledgeable, and no nonsense with a level of care and expertise that's incomparable. In 2018 we found each other by chance when the original doctor recommended to me was unable to see me due to an office scheduling conflict. Their office said Dr. Silvers could fit me in, thank God for that chance occurrence. From that very first appointment I knew I'd met the right person, his straightforward nature confirmed it for me. A few years ago I was diagnosed with cancerous cells by a doctor I trusted for years. He had moved his practice from his tony digs to a clinic. How wonderful, I thought, he's doing the good work for humanity. Turned out that wasn't exactly what happened, but that's not for this review. Desperate to get a second opinion before I went under the knife, a friend recommended Steven Silvers. If you've read any of my reviews, you know that for me, the gyno is like a mechanic. I gotta trust him because I have no idea what he is looking at. And I also prefer a male "lady mechanic" because I figure he's already been looking at certain things in his personal life, one look in the stirrups should give him a good hint for issues. Anyway, just as I would take the suggestion of a new mechanic very serious...well, you get it. By the time I got to Silvers, I was pretty hysterical (but playing it off as just being "quirky"). The women at the front desk calmed me right down, what a lively, funny, friendly bunch of chicks. I was whisked into a room and prepped for my exam. Silvers could not have been kinder with a brand new (nutty) patient. He spent quite a bit of time talking with me and scheduled tests immediately. One of the tests required me to go to the hospital for a day procedure. I was freaking a bit, I hate when you have to be put to sleep and avoid it at all costs. Silvers actually came in to speak to me prior to the anesthetic and carefully explained how quickly the event would go and by the time he finished talking, I was waking up again - it was over. And he discovered I was misdiagnosed but has continued to monitor me since that day. This was five years ago and I've never gone anywhere else since. As far as appointments go - easy to get. Wait time - usually minimal but if there is a backlog, Rebecca at the front desk will let you know right away. She handles that desk with ease. Dr Silvers was recommended by a friend, as I had some issues I was hoping to get resolved, so I went to see him in the summer of 2013. It's been the most uncomfortable experience I've had with a doctor, and I've seen many... He is very rude, very blunt, disrespectful, does not explain the subject, which is very delicate and needs to be well understood, and handled by a compassionate, trustworthy and educated professional. I hadn't brought all my results from the previous 2 years tests, he literally yelled at me, he was always very sarcastic and off topic, told me he didn't care about my health if i didn't. He treated me like sh@# and sent me away with the recommendation to come back with all my results, I left there in tears, the nice lady at the desk told me my $ 50 copay would've been applied to the following visit. I was so desperate to have my issues resolved that I went back, with all my papers. I reminded the lady ( a different one) at the desk that I shouldn't have been charged a copay, as per previous time agreements. She let the doctor know, he let me in, to tell me to go find another doctor, as I was not welcome to his practice. I was so shocked by this experience I hope I won't ever have it again. Of course I'm not able to review the doctor's skills, as I haven't had the chance to test them. Thankfully. I have been a patient of Dr. Silvers for 17 years, having delivered 6 of my children with him. I can't say enough about Dr. Silvers and his entire staff. I find that when it comes to medical care, you are often forced to choose between a great office staff or a great doctor. It is almost impossible to find an office that has the best of both worlds. Becky, Evelyn, and Rose are extremely warm and caring. They are always available to answer any questions or help in any way they can. They will go the extra mile for their patients and always make it seem as if it is their pleasure to do so. Scheduling appointments is never a problem. Wait time is minimal to none, which is practically unheard of in a solo Ob/Gyn practice. If there is ever an emergency/ delivery that will result in a long wait time, the office staff will give you the option to reschedule to avoid a long wait. Dr. Silvers is a phenomenal doctor. He always gives his patients time to ask all questions they have. All questions are answered honestly and with respect. I never feel rushed during my appointments. He has a wonderful way of putting his patients at ease. He somehow finds that delicate balance between calming down his worried patients and staying on top of any issues that may arise. His reception staff was amazing. However, he has no partners so on any given day he's delivering babies and seeing his patients with regular appointments. I thought this would be great because I would know who is goin to deliver our baby. However, he had three women in labor during our appointment, so he was busy and very short with us. He didn't explain why he wanted to do a cervical sonogram or tell me what he was planning to put inside me. When I asked if he was going to use a speculum, he was condescending and made fun of me for asking a question. Overall he was rude and had horrible bedside manner. My entire personal experience with Dr.Hanna has been very bad. I am a little over 7 months pregnant and regret chosing him. He has too many patients and no time for you. Every single visit with him is always less then 2 minutes! My husband and I are every disappointed because every appointment we have had with Dr. Hanna he rushes you to speak if you have questions. He NEVER took time to sit and listen at my questions or concerns.Frankly, its a waste of time to see him. When it's time for me to get feedback on ultrasounds, tests, etc he doesnt do it on your next visit. I had to be the one to REMIND him of my tests and ultrasounds that we were suppost to go over more than a month ago. And he took 5 seconds to rush and look through my chart and tell me "everythings good". I would NOT recommend anyone to this doctor. I've been searching for another doctor. He has no time for you. No compassion. Doesn't give you a happy satisfied feeling when you leave his office. Rushes you to speak. Worst doctor I've ever been too. Rude, cold, a jerkoff to say the least. Saw him for my first pregnancy and left at 13 weeks. He made me feel dumb for being nervous and never once tried to get to know me or my boyfriend, who he blatantly ignored everytime. Rushed through our visits. I called because I had back pain into my buttocks and thighs and they told me to come in right away so I went in two days later when I could. I got there and he told me if I had back pain before ill have it again and that's it nothing I can do. So what'd you make me come in for? They told him what was wrong when I had called. He wasted my time. I asked for an ultrasound since be moved up my next appointment and he rudely asked why I needed one and that I'd need to wait and then he rushed out if the office when I had other questions for him. I walked out and before I told him why I was leaving and he yelled at me "best of luck!!!" Five times as I walked out the door. He makes me sick. It's a shame because his staff is awesome and I loved them those women were so sweet. Don't go to this doctor he will treat you like any other patient, won't even take the time to get to know you. He was cold, uncaring and overall exhibited a horrible bedside manner. He failed to offer a due date on the first visit for a pregnancy, because he was too busy going through all the reasoning for why we'd have to be ready to "make a choice" and terminate the pregnancy if there were any signs of abnormality. When it came time for the ultrasound it seemed the last thing he cared about was the fact there was a baby on the monitor. He was in essence a jerk, and after the appointment, was trying to shout from around the corner in the hallway that he "wasn't trying to be a jerk, just wanting to realistic!" Sure, tell that to the nurses who were all bringing tissues and working in apologies for his attitude when he would step away and couldn't hear them... they evidently live with him everyday and understood. I walked out of that office and didn't turn around, and from the looks of some of the reviews on other websites it seems like that was a good decision. read more

This doctor is the most unpleasant doctor I've ever encountered. The friendliest people in this practice are the front desk ladies. Other than them, everyone is rude and lack people skills. The nurse is very serious and barely says two words to you while she's taking your blood and measurements. It is a very uncomfortable vibe that begins your experience. Then, the doctor, Steven Silvers, puts the cherry on top! I saw him for the first time because I am pregnant. My first impression of him was unfriendly, but somewhat knowledgeable. He did not tell me much information at all about my baby or seemed too concerned about anything that I may be feeling in regards to the pregnancy or anything. This is not my first baby, so I have an idea of how these things are supposed to work. Still, I went back for a second visit three weeks later, and this sealed the deal. Again, the nurse was nothing but exceptionally rude and unconcerned for your well-being. They treat you as if you were a mannequin. That visit, I was expecting to hear the baby's heart beat since I still had not heard it. When the doctor came in, he simply pointed out that I needed to go to the appointment he booked for me and that this visit, he wasn't going to do anything. So, I asked if I could hear my baby's heart beat. With an expressionless face, his answer was: "No. Do you have any more questions?" Excuse me?????????????????????? How inconsiderate cansomeone be to an expectant mother? He did not bother explaining himself at all and looked as if he was in a rush to leave the room, and my presence was annoying him. I stormed out of the room, almost teary-eyed because of how infuriated I was. I simply asked the front desk ladies what was the quickest way to get a different doctor and stormed the hell out of there. These people do not like their jobs at all and just look at you as money. They have no concern for you at all!!!! Nothing like You would expect from a pregnancy visit!!! Peaceful and taken care of????? NOT IN THIS PRACTICE!!! "DR."
