Dr. R. struck me as a bit of an oddball when I first met him--almost overly cheerful. Over time, though, that demeanor seemed to fade. I never felt like my dental needs were truly being addressed; it often felt more like my teeth were being prepped for future repairs. Then came a visit where he told me I needed a root canal on a healthy tooth. At the time, I didn't question his opinion, but I had my doubts. My understanding is that root canals are typically necessary when a tooth is significantly compromised. At my most recent visit, a molar cracked, and I immediately had that sinking feeling: "root canal." I was right. When I told him I wasn't on board, he simply stood there tapping his foot, waiting for me to give in. I told him I would be seeking a second opinion--and that's exactly what I did. My new dentist confirmed that a root canal was not necessary, as the tooth was still healthy. Unfortunately, that experience caused me to lose all trust.

However, they advised me via their text message system, that they "VERIFIED" my dental insurance and that my Copay was $72 (see pic). This was for x-rays, cleaning, and checkup. After paying the copay, I received an additional unplanned follow up bill because they didn't actually verify the cost with the insurance as their text stated. Because they did actually "verify", I am now out an addition cost (see bill pic). I did speak with the staff, and they reduced it by about $40 however the rest could not be resolved, and I am forced to pay. Had they verified and provided the correct cost initially; I would have selected a different Dentist that was in network. If you want good dental care Signature Family Dental is a great choice, just don't trust what they tell your cost will be because they may change it after the fact. Attached is copy of Text they sent and follow on bill as proof.
