We hired Steven to film our wedding ceremony late in the game, giving him only 3 weeks of advance notice. We were incredibly fortunate that he was able to squeeze us into his packed summer wedding schedule. Steven was professional, responsive and very accommodating. We watched the video he created for us and were both in awe of how beautifully he captured the ceremony. It's a memory that we'll treasure forever. Thank you Steven for being a joy to work with, from start to finish, and for capturing the magic of our big day. read more

While planning our initial wedding budget, we were hesitant to hire a videographer, especially considering the cost. Luckily for us we were recommended Steven through our photographer Randy(R&R Photogrpahy). In short, we were so please with the overall experience. The pricing was fairly reasonable especially considering the quality of work that Steven provided. He was always punctual, organized, and open minded when it came to answering our questions and providing recommendations. He even went to great lengths to personally create a timeline of events for our wedding day to ensure that everything went according to plan. During the wedding, Steven made us feel very comfortable and not once did we feel shy around the camera. He was very hands on and made sure that everything ran smoothly and on time. When we watched our video, it was like reliving our special day all over again. He did such a great job of highlighting and capturing all of the special moments. He is a true artist and you can definitely feel all the love and dedication he puts in his videos. Thank you, Steven from the bottom of our hearts. We appreciate everything you've done. Continue to make peoples special day even more special. Your friends, John & Janice read more

Working with Steven was such an easy decision for us! Steven was responsive from the very start of wedding planning, even jumping on a call with us late on a Sunday to go over our questions and review his pricing and packages. His experience filming at our venue was a huge plus for us, but it was his confidence, his easygoing manner, and friendliness that sealed the deal. Leading up to the wedding, Steven was helpful in answering questions and was even gracious enough to accept a last-minute addition to our package which would result in more work for him. He was easy to communicate with and always responsive. The day of the wedding, Steven and his team were on time and extremely professional. They worked well with our photographers. Steven and his team helped coordinate our first look, a special moment that they captured perfectly. My husband (!!) and I are not that comfortable in front of the camera, but with Steven's friendly directions and artistic vision, it was really a painfree process! Through the ceremony, Steven and his team were discreet but always in the corner of my eye, filming and documenting the day. After the day was done, Steven called us to wish us well and gave us some awesome recommendations for restaurants in the area as well. The cinematic video edit is perfect, and to be able to relive the day with a dynamic and kinetic video in addition to our photos was truly a great decision. The transitions in both the cinematic edit and family films are fantastic - nothing is choppy or clunky. From a technical aspect (from a non-technical person) - the videos are beautifully made, using drone shots, well-lit even during our nighttime dancing, with great, clear audio. It's a truly professional production. I know people have differing opinions on whether or not a video is worth it, but I assure you, you won't regret having a videographer, ESPECIALLY if you make the very wise decision of working with Steven. He captured the joy, the celebration, and the voices of our loved ones that we'll get to cherish for life. I can't put a price on being able to share these videos with our loved ones who couldn't make it to the wedding and I'll always be eternally grateful to Steven for working so hard to document one of the best days of my life. read more

To start, I cannot say how much literally EVERYONE in our wedding enjoyed working with Steven and his crew. He was the first videographer we spoke with when we got engaged, and right from the start he set the bar very high for other videographers! He was so bright and happy and really made himself easy to talk to and work with. Every step of the way he was super responsive and answered any question we had. Our wedding actually got postponed for a year due to Covid, and Steven was very kind and supportive while we discussed potential new wedding dates. Also, our venue was fairly high-profile and had quite a few regulations that we all had to follow and be respectful of. Steven and his crew never missed a beat and were on top of it all! We were primarily looking for someone who had a cinematic style, and I swear I could not find anyone with a better sense of cinematography than Steven. Everyone was so impressed with the result and kept telling my husband and I that it looked like a movie! After our 7-year relationship and everything we've gone through, this was exactly what we wanted read more

I cannot say enough good things about Steven! His work is amazing. The videos that he shot looked beautiful and he was able to really capture the magic of the day. You can tell by the editing and his choice of shots that he is incredibly smart and creative. Not only did his videos look awesome but he is a wonderful human being. We felt completely taken care of by him and loved having him and his energy there on our special day. I'm so grateful that I found him and would recommend to anyone. read more

Steven was so wonderful to work with! I knew right away when I watched a video off his website that I NEEDED to book Steven if he was available, and luckily...he was! I am the bride and he made my groom and I feel comfortable during our wedding day. We are overjoyed with the outcome of our wedding video. He was very responsive during my wedding planning process, happy to do a quick phone call or Zoom to go over details or changes. Check out his YouTube or social media if you don't believe me, but his work is WAY worth it! I got my video back exactly around when he said I would receive it and am happy I have this video so I can relive my wedding day and share it with family and friends. 5 stars are not enough, I would rate Steven Garza studios 100000+ stars if I could. My husband and I are not used to being in the spotlight, let alone have cameras and mics around or on us, but Steven made everything so seamless and comfortable, we barely noticed the cameras were right there. If you are looking for a wedding videographer, this is your guy! Such a wonderful person to work with and I could not be happier with my wedding video. Videography/photography can be expensive, but THIS is SO worth it. Highly, highly recommend!!! -Emily Maccarra, October 2022 Bride read more

Planning a wedding is no easy task.  Throw a pandemic into the mix and you get mission impossible.  Our wedding was supposed to be in August 2020 but was postponed for a year due to the pandemic.  Hearing horror stories from other couples on how they lost their deposits due to wedding postponements and cancellations, my fiancé and I were nervous about our vendors.  But we were lucky.  Steven deserves the highest praise as a professional and a human being.  He had no issue with the date change being a year out and kept in touch with us every few weeks just to make sure we were okay.  He did not force us to pay the full amount by the original wedding date and understood what the whole world was going through.  We met a few times before the wedding to get to know one another and to discuss the type of day he and his team would be planning to capture all the important moments.  His energy was genuine and we knew he had a game plan with our best interest at heart and that provided us with an ease of mind.  That in itself was priceless. Fast forward to the wedding day.  Steven and Josh arrived early and had everything ready to go on time.  His directions were clear and precise in portraying the feeling he wanted the lens to capture.  Steven made everyone feel comfortable and you would forget he was even there at times.  He knew how to capture the feeling of a specific moment and found a way to incorporate the venue as not just a background but a star character in a movie.  He knew the location (Holman Ranch) and took us to amazing locations to shoot.  He always made time to capture extra shots but still followed the strict timeline.  Steven and Josh work in a perfect tandem. We got our wedding video back in less than 3 months!  The edits and transitions were flawless and my fiancé and I loved every minute of it.  Hiring Steven and Higher City Wedding Films is easily the best decision you can make for your wedding.  Steven treats you like family! read more

It's been 1 year and 4 months since our wedding. I am so happy that my husband and I went with Steven . He did a phenomenal job capturing our moments on our wedding day. He even added a surprise drone shots on our highlight video. Not only he was very easy to work with, but he is such a genuine person and would love to work with him again. He made me feel comfortable and myself while he was taking those shots. He did an amazing job over all. He did so good that until this day, when going back watching our wedding videos , I always find myself reminiscing on our wedding day and crying. He gave us the videos very quick. Thank you Steven for helping us capture our once in a lifetime moments read more

Steven did a photo shot for my Food Blog recently and I absolutely loved working with him! I had seen his work on Instagram and fell in love with the way he captured moments. And I wanted that for my blog! When we were discussing my vision for the photos, Steven was very organized and professional. We jumped back ideas and devised a plan for the shot day. After the meeting, I felt confident that he knew exactly what I wanted! Side note: the shot was supposed to just be me...but on the day of the shot, my toddler niece wanted to take part, and Steven was so accommodating and understanding!! The shoot yielded beautiful shots that show action shots and still shots of my little niece and myself making two of my recipes! I didn't realize how meaningful these shots would be to me. Photos that were meant simply to be for my blog, now hold sentimental moments with my niece that I will treasure forever as well! Steven is unbelievably easy to work with, both in setting up the shoot, the day of! He is very responsive over text and email, and provided my photos way ahead of schedule. He even sent some amazing actions shots for my Instagram, that was completely unexpected surprise! Steven is really kind, friendly and my 3-year old niece was immediately comfortable with him around! I couldn't recommend Steven enough! read more

My wife and I feel extremely fortunate to have had Steven and his team be our photographer/videographer for our wedding. From our engagement photo shoot to our wedding day, Steven was very attentive throughout our wedding planning and really made us feel confident and comfortable. He arrived before our scheduled time for our engagement photo shoot to scout the area and get the best shots. We chose one of our engagement photos for our wedding invitations and we got a great amount of comments complimenting such a beautiful invitation! On the wedding day, Steven was punctual and really made my wife and I feel comfortable and confident throughout the day. He really captured the right moments and details for the photographs and film. I will admit when we began planning our wedding and budgeting we said we wouldn't have a videographer. That was until we met Steven, and let me tell you I am so glad we did. The day of he was fantastic! I honestly don't even remember seeing him and his team because they were that good. Steven took the time to ask what was important to us and what we really wanted to see. As of yet we haven't seen anything so I am just reviewing on the day of, but I can not wait to see the finished product! So glad we ended up having Steven be a part of our wedding! read more

This past November I got to marry my best friend! I was on a hunt for a photographer and also someone who can do video so we could have both as memories to look back on! I was referred to Randy from R&R photography and asked him if he knew of anyone or had any packages with video/film recording for the wedding, And luckily he did! I didn't get to meet Steven until the day of the wedding, but he made sure and called about a week or so before so that we could touch base and he wanted make sure everything was set and ready to go they way I wanted. He's very open minded and a GREAT person to work with. He's fun and has lots of ideas! My husband and I definitely had an amazing time working with him. Now onto our wedding video.. We LOVED it!! It's not your regular video you have family members record on a camcorder. Our video lays our whole day out from the start of our wedding day into the reception, because that's what we asked for. And Steven did exactly that! I am so happy how everything turned out and so glad we picked out this team to do our wedding!! Thanks again so much Steven you are such an amazing person!! We cannot thank Steven and his team enough. We found Steven after he filmed my cousins wedding. After seeing the amazing work he did for my cousins wedding, we knew we had to met up with Steven. During the first consultation, he really took the time to get to know us. Steven asked us questions about the proposal, how we met, the bridal party, and any special moments we wanted him to capture. He showed us other examples of wedding films he recently did since we had already seen my cousins. He has great attention to detail and is really friendly. We immediately knew he would do an amazing job of capturing our big day. Through out the wedding planning he was constantly checking in on us. Steven helped create a day of timeline. He actually helped us find our wedding photographer. He was in contact with the photographer he referred us to, which was great so they would both be on the same page when it came to capturing our big day. We just got our wedding videos and we couldn't be happier. Our highlight video was everything we imaged and so much more. We can't stop watching it. We can't wait to show all our family and friends. Short version: One of the best decisions we made! How Steven and his team captured the essence of our day is beyond words; the beauty of our venue, the overjoy and emotion between our large families, the laughter and happiness of our guests, and of course the friendship, love, and silliness of us. We are forever grateful! The details: We were completely on the fence about hiring a videographer for our wedding. A cousin of mine suggested we look into Higher City Wedding Films since he personally knew Steven and had good things to say about him. After a few emails and still being uncertain, Steven and had a call via facetime. The biggest relief is that he was the absolute opposite of a pushy, wedding sales person. Throughout our hour + conversation, he was very genuine, a great listener and even gave me some other ideas and personal touches for our wedding we had completely over looked! We decided to go for it. Since we lived farther away from Steven, we didn't meet him until the day of the wedding. He had never shot at our venue, but clearly took the time to scope everything out be making great suggestions. He was absolutely a dream to work with. Him and my photographer had never worked together, but you would NEVER have known it. Everything went extremely smoothly... we had 19 people in our wedding party and 6 kids involved... it was no easy task. The best part, we were definitely ecstatic that neither of us remember having a video camera in our faces the whole day! With that being said, we couldn't wait to see what was captured. We were absolutely blown away by the work Steven and his team did. EVERYTHING I had talked to him about months before was taken into account and beautifully put together. Many joyous tears were shed watching it ... and continue to be every time we show it! Steven and his team captured what is the best day of our life and really let us relive the 'high' of it all again. We couldn't have asked/expected anything better! read more

I found Steven through my friend who used him for her wedding, and I'm so happy we made the last minute decision to book with him! Steven took time to learn the parts of our wedding that were important to us, took time to get to know us as a couple prior to the big day - and caught every beautiful moment in such a special and unique way. We received the final package in a beautiful box, the flash drive in the form of a heart shaped key, he is so detail orientated and it shows in every piece he captured - we especially love the highlight film! We are happy to have our wedding on film, it is nice to have more than just photos to remember our wedding day and to be able to look back at it with family and friends. Thank you soooo much for all of your work in capturing our wedding day! read more

A couple of months before our wedding, we finally decided that we wanted a videographer and needed to find someone ASAP. Luckily for us, my procrastination didn't backfire and Steven was available - we are so happy to have found him. We had been on the fence about whether a videographer would be necessary, but now that our wedding is over and we see the results, we know that we made the right choice. Living on the East Coast while trying to plan a wedding on the West Coast was definitely a trying experience, complete with its share of headaches and firedrills. However, distance wasn't an issue with Steven and he quickly worked on putting us at ease. He arranged a Skype meeting with us ahead of time and took notes on the wedding details and our preferences and requests. He made sure that we felt comfortable with him prior to the big day and regularly communicated with us. He shared his ideas with us and the passion he has for his work really shined through. Steven's wife Alyssa came to assist on the day of the wedding. They are both so sweet and easy to get along with. They were able to film so many of the special moments we had throughout the wedding day. Believe me, you're too busy on your wedding day to absorb everything so it's pretty incredible seeing it beautifully captured on video. The video brought (happy) tears to my eyes and we will always cherish it. read more

We cannot thank Steven and his Higher City Films team enough! We found Steven after searching and reading reviews on numerous wedding videographers for our wedding on Monterey. After initially contacting Steven, he set up time to "meet" with my husband and I through FaceTime due to where we lived. During the 1-hour meeting, Steven took the time to learn about the both of us and asked questions on what we expect and envision our wedding videos to be like. He was very thorough and extremely professional. He was very quick on providing us a rough schedule of what the day would look like, and sent us a few wedding films he produced recently. Both my husband and I were confident with hiring Higher City Films after our encounters with Steven. Through-out our planning process (from around September 2016 to our wedding in late May 2017), Steven checked-in with us regularly to make sure that we have everything we needed. The day before our wedding, Steven took on himself and made a trip to our venue and met up with us at our rehearsal. We just got our videos last week, and could not wait to share with our family and friends. They are exactly what we imagined and much more. So again, THANK YOU HIGHER CITY FILMS! read more

If it was possible to give Steven and Higher City Wedding Films 100 Stars, we would. Our experience was flawless from start to finish.
