I saw Dr. Abel for sedation dentistry. I have been afraid of going to the dentist since I was a child due to a bad experience I had. I can not say enough good things about this dentist and the entire team. From my first phone call until my treatment was completed they made me feel comfortable. The care that they gave me was top notch. I had the opportunity to ask questions, and never felt rushed or judged. Totally different than past experiences. One of the things that I have always hated was that little hook instrument that they use to look for cavities. Well, guess what, I didn't have to deal with that. Dr. Abel has the coolest laser cavity detector. It's called a Diagnodent. It's a little laser light that shines on the tooth and can find even the earliest cavity. This is a bonus to me because if it's caught early, it's easier to treat. This laser cavity exam is completely painless and takes about 5 minutes. The other wonderful thing that I had done was an oral cancer screening with a machine called Velscope. My old dentist didn't have this device. It's a special fluorescent light that shows even the earliest signs of something abnormal. Again, a huge bonus. Having recently seen in the news what the actor Michael Douglas is going through with oral cancer, I'm happy to have a dentist with a life saving device like this. And last but not least, I had all of my dental work done while I was asleep. Completely asleep. I woke up and it was done. For someone as afraid as I am, this is WONDERFUL. Thanks so much Dr. Abel. This is without a doubt the best dentist I have ever been to. I had not been to the dentist in about 5 years. I got referred to Dr. Abel by my medical doctor at the Mount Kisco Medical Group. Dr. Abel treats him and his family too. ( and apparently many of the other docs choose him). Anyway, I am just now finishing up my care with Dr. Abel. My smile looks amazing. Before I would try to avoid social situations because I was actually embarrassed by how awful my teeth looked. Now I can smile again and they look fantastic. They actually feel good too, and now I have Fresh Breath as well. That is something that I have not had for years and that really embarrassed me to. But this terrific office never judged me. They just took really good care of me. All of the girls who work here are terrific too! They go out of their way to make you comfortable. They have a cool little coffee brewer in the office and even offer to make my coffee for me at every visit. I'm so glad that I found this office and took that first step and got my treatment started. Now in what seems like no time at all, I can smile again and have a lot more confidence. This was an amazing office. The staff was great and the doctor really gets it. I have always hated my teeth. Dr. Abel did Invisalign for me to straighten out my lower crowded teeth. We then did Lumineers on the top 10 teeth. I now have a PERFECT smile, and I love it. Thanks so much Dr. Abel. I can finally feel good about myself. What an amazing experience I had in this office. First of all, Dr. Abel took about 30 minutes just to talk to me and get to know me. I then had the most thorough exam I've ever had. This is the best dentist I've ever been to. I needed dental implants due to a terrible accident. and Dr. Abel was wonderful. I was never without teeth. I am getting married in February and have been super self conscious about my crooked teeth, and also scared. Dr. Abel fixed my teeth and made me feel very comfortable while doing it.
