Very friendly staff and definitely one of the better dentists in the Sevier County area.

Volunteer makes it an easier experience for both child and parent. Due to COVID, they have you call upon arrival, share your parking spot number, and wait in your car. When they are ready for you, the hygienist comes out to get you. They are currently (Feb 2022) requiring masks for those inside as well. Once inside, they weigh your kiddo (not sure why?) and bring them back to the exam room. Most X-rays and the cleaning and exam will be done in the same room. It has a child-sized dental chair and a TV mounted to the ceiling for the kids to watch Disney while their mouth is examined. The only time my son left was to get the 360 x-ray done of his mouth. The hygienist and dentist, Dr. Valerie, are great at explaining what they will be doing, patient, and have a calming demeanor that can put even the most nervous, wiggly offspring at ease. The trip to the treasure box doesn't hurt with easing the nerves, either! ;-)

So she only got to sit up on a bench while they manually brushed her teeth instead of actually letting her sit in the dentist regular chair. She got a floride treatment also. But they were demanding that she pay her co- pay up front or they were going to refuse service to any of the grandchildren that I brought there. I explained to them that I didn't know she had a " copay" & so i told them to go ahead and treat her without the Xrays. They were refusing to clean my granddaughter and grandson's teeth without Xrays done first. So we spoke to the manager after i was told to leave and reschedule the appointment after i drove an hour and a half to get there. The manager okayed the services to be performed and decided to bill their parents for the copay to be paid before their next visits/ soon.the grandchildren finally got their Xrays and teeth cleaned with a floride treatment before we left.i was then asked if they were going to come back to see them again or go somewhere else?

So your kids will need cavities filled and your kids will not have clean teeth. I took my 14 year old to my hygienist for a cleaning and he came out and talked to me about how dirty her teeth were and I the last time she had her teeth cleaned. I told him every 6 months. He did not believe me and he had to remove tartar from under her gums. He explained that her gums would be tender. I immediately pulled my kids out of this office and transferred all my kids to the office I go to for them to get their teeth cleaned and am pro active to keep my kids from getting cavities. My 19 year old has cavities thanks to this place because they saw her to age 18 and just polished her teeth. Never cleaned them properly. My 9 year old has cavities and silver fillings on her back teeth because of this place. Thankfully my three year old is going to go to a pediatric dentist with hygienist to properly have clean teeth and gums. If you want to be proactive remove your kids from this office and find a good pediatric dentist. All the paint on their walls, toys, balloons, tvs on their ceilings, and nice chairs is not worth it. They do not clean your kids teeth. Ask the girls if they are a hygienist they will say no just a polisher. I give this place zero stars.

They are professional. There has never been an issue with me going back with him to get procedures done. The dentist takes time to explain exactly what they are going to do before they start. With that surprise showing on my face I said, "that's not what we discussed. No teeth should have been extracted." The dentist abruptly cut me off with, "we have a signed treatment plan" and left the room. Shortly afterwards the receptionist returned to discuss the mix up. A proposed treatment plan different than the one we had signed and paid for somehow ended up in the dentists agenda. I understand that mistakes are inevitable, but I can't understand this level of negligence with no preventive system of checks and balances. Moreover, while after an off handed attempt at blaming us for the mishap by asking questions and discussing all possible scenarios months ago, they did eventually apologize and offer to reimburse the additional funds paid for services not received. However, both the dentist and receptionist were far too defensive and I just don't feel they sincerely regret what has happened. We're home now and I feel just terrible about all of this. We made every attempt and would have spared no expense to get the best possible dental care for our daughter. And yet, here we are with a confused little girl, unnecessarily dealing with perhaps 6 months or a year of eating without front teeth. Perhaps I should have insisted that a parent be allowed to witness the procedure or, well, I don't even know what else to say. This is the worst experience I've had with a medical professional and it happened to my little girl. All this aside, the procedure was at the Kingsport location. The environment was nice, the efforts to entertain and engage the children were great. The staff was quite friendly, until there was a problem. Everything was on point aside from the one thing that mattered.

I always checked their teeth and they are well taken care of. My daughter texted me after her visit there and said that she was given over $2000.00 treatment plan for her daughters restorative work needed. I asked her to get the X-rays and send them to the dentist where I work. The X-rays reveal very small, what we call in our office, enamel only decay ,in a few of the back teeth (baby teeth she would loose soon) , which we would never fill. The decay is barely through the surface of enamel and not to a point you would rush in and fill. One of the primary (baby) teeth was marked to have a stainless steel crown!! This tooth had no enamel decay , nothing at all wrong with the tooth!! I not only got one opinion from my dentist but another dentist in my area. They both said this was very very unnecessary treatment. I even wondered if the X-rays had gotten mixed up with another patient. But the X-rays that they sent were her X-rays. This was to be done in two sessions with nitrous . As the dentist in this office sat and explained to my daughter all the treatment needed and the areas of so called decay, my granddaughter sat there and wept. She takes pride in keeping her teeth very clean and was proud each time I examined them to tell her they were so well taken care of. My daughter would have had this treatment done (without knowing) because she wouldn't want her to have decay or pain in future and would want her teeth taken care of. If she had not had other opinions or anyone to ask this office would have taken advantage of this young family who struggle to pay bills like most other young families. I can't imagine any of these dentists in this practice doing this treatment on their own children. It makes me very sad that there are dentist out there who would do this to others and this is exactly what makes people skeptical of any field whether medical or dental or mechanics for your cars. The trust is diminished with this kind of treatment. I have never written a bad review for anything and I hated to do it. But I also hated not to because of those who may be taken advantage of. We are to treat others in the way we would want to be treated ourselves. Update: they now go to a fabulous dentist and my Granddaughter remains to be cavity free.
