He assured me that lots of cars have plastic oil pans and it's nothing to worry about. So i pay him $700 to fix it. Turns out it didn't fix my leak, was leaking just as badly. So i brought it back to him, and what do you know? Hes explaining to me on the phone that it's because the plastic oil pan was warped. He did seem to feel sorry and give me a good deal on replacing the oil pan, so i spent another 500. He tried to say that fixing one oil leak can cause another, but the oil was clearly leaking from the oil pan the first time i brought it in. I even have obvious photos of it from before I ever brought it to him the first time. I shouldn't have let him convince me it was the sensor. Could he be right? Maybe. But I think the evidence leans towards he made a mistake. Which is fine, mistakes happen. But he could at least admit it.

Really enjoyed my experience with this dealership! I had…read morebeen looking for a specific Toyota for quite some time, and when I found one here, it was in a body shop, but they kept me very informed of when it would arrive at the dealership. They did not sell it out from under me (thank you Down The Road Motors!). When the vehicle was on the lot, the buying process was easy and they allowed me to get a private inspection--big plus! The mechanic that inspected my car said that the brakes were brand new, and the belts in great condition. He said it was a great little car and encouraged me heavily to buy it. He said he would've drove it round the country that day with full confidence. My new car did start making a belt noise a few days after purchase, and the mechanics at Down the Road Motors squeezed me right in to get my car fixed up and taken care of, no cost on me. Overall, my vehicle was a good value for what it is, however it does have cosmetic issues, mostly scratches and a leaky seal at the top, but that's what you get with an "as-is" used car. My only recommendation is to make sure you look over a car thoroughly to see if it's missing any seat heads, levers, etc--which should be done with any used car! I wasn't told about the things my car was missing so I had to look it over well, nothing that was missing made it worth not buying! I appreciate the kind and honest business here, hard to find at a used car dealer! Thanks again Down the Road Motors!

NEVER EVER BUY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS!!!! Bear's = Sleazy…read moreUsed Car Sales Stereotypes I bought a vehicle from them & they were wonderful during the sale but I have had to put $6,000 worth of repairs on a $6,000 car in the under 1 year I've owned it. The first major repair was within the first 1,000miles of owning it. I've called Bear's & gotten a different run around every time. The last time when I needed major engine work, I was told to own it for a year & then they could take it back & I would just lose very thing I had paid into it- worth it for all the trouble it's given me. Well it's almost a year so I called them (because it NOW also needs a whole new transmission) & the owner pretended he knew nothing about my vehicle & basically called me a liar, saying I had never called them before about the vehicle. Very rude & accused me of not knowing what I was talking about. Their cars are MONEY PITS & of VERY SHADY quality. Seems like they do quick fixes just to hold the car together long enough to sell it!
