Then this firm, who we never chose to do business with in the first place, got a garnishment of our state tax return and have taken our entire state tax return for over 20 years, adding up to well over $5,000. They still claim that we owe them $3,000 after carefully adding enough fees and interest to overcome the "payments" gained through our tax returns. We're much more financially stable today and paying it off to get them off our backs, but this firm has extracted well over 500% of the original debt over the lifespan of our interaction. It's unethical bottom-feeding behavior and I would be ashamed to be a leech working for such a scummy firm.
