Not sure if this is Thursdays only, but after 7pm they have $1 bowling and $3 shoes, which was a great deal - we bowled 3 strings, so for about 2+ hours of entertainment I only spent $6 ($3 for shoes + $3 for three games). I'd come back here again when in the area, I've tried a few of the Troy bowling places and this one is about the same if not better. They have a snack bar area with drinks and food too, if you get hungry/thirsty, and I think they have a bowling league you can join, as well.

Lou, after watching me warm up with one of my current solids, kindly recommended that I would be better off with a polished ball to match my speed/rev rate, and suggested I would be better off with the new Storm IQ Tour 30 instead. I reluctantly tried it out, and then I didn't want to put it down. It blew everything else away! I soon ended up going back to purchase the IQ30. The way Lou approached the details of the ball layout and drilling was beyond any fitting I had previously experienced, and he gave me the best fitting and most consistent ball I own. I have since started getting my other balls re-fitted and drilled at MDB, as they no longer feel right in comparison to my sweet IQ30. After being cooped up for months, and stuff reopened due to the pandemic, I needed to get out and do something besides go to the grocery store. My date suggested we come here, since we still can't eat out or do other fun activities. Walking in, I was pleasantly surprised at how well maintained this place was. Why? Because not all bowling alleys are created equal. This one falls into the category of "nice" because I didn't feel like I needed a tetanus shot when leaving. There's plenty to see and do here, including video games, a bar with food, and current technology for the scoring screens. Seating areas at the lanes were newer and in good shape, along with a nice selection of balls to choose from. I didn't get a chance to check out the bathrooms, but the staff here was really professional, friendly and wearing polo shirts. I like that. It made me feel like they actually take their job seriously and not a bunch of underpaid teenagers who don't actually care. Our game was fun, and the prices can't be beat. For two sets of shoes and one game, it was a whopping $15. NICE! We would have played more games but decided one game was enough for us. Also, staff was decent about encouraging people to keep their masks on. While we were waiting for our initial check in, another bowler came up to ask a question and the staff motioned politely for him to put his mask over his nose. The guest complied and it made me feel better. Overall, this place is pretty nice and I would easily drive here again to bowl in a heartbeat for all of the reasons listed above. No stinky outdated alleys, drink options (even though it's not open due to covid) friendly staff and great prices. Thank you Universal, you really did make a good impression on me and my date!

One of the musicians performing that night -- a person actively generating the atmosphere this establishment was selling -- handed us a free drink ticket. Lovely. A nice gesture from a nice human being. Our server arrives. We order. We mention the ticket. She says she has to make another drink first and will be right back. She was not right back. She was gone for twenty minutes. We know this because we spent those twenty minutes sitting there like two abandoned houseplants, eventually flagging her down ourselves, because apparently at this bar the customer is responsible for locating the staff. And when she finally returned? She refused the ticket. The reason: the band had left. I want everyone reading this to sit with that. The ticket was valid when we presented it. It became invalid during a delay she created, for a reason entirely outside our control, and she then delivered that news to us as though we had done something wrong. She ran out the clock and then cited the clock. This is not a small thing. This is a bar that will make a promise, take twenty minutes to not honor it, and then explain that the promise expired while you were waiting for the person who was supposed to honor it. If they'll do that over one beer, imagine what happens when something actually goes wrong -- a wrong charge, a bad tab, a real problem. The drink was worth about six dollars. The reputation was worth more. They chose the six dollars. Go literally anywhere else. If I could rate this lower than one star I would.
