Tv not working . No front desk on sight to call

Absolutely Horrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs I would give negative stars if I could. This place is absolutely disgusting. When I walked into the room, there was throw up splattered on the wall -- clearly no real cleaning had been done. The jacuzzi tub was completely unusable: full of cracks, rusted over, and barely functioning. The TV didn't work at all, which made things even worse. There's no staff on site -- if you have an issue, you're supposed to text a number. I texted immediately, even sent pictures of the mess, and no one ever got back to me. Zero customer service. And for the outrageous price (over $200 a night!), there's no parking available on site. You either have to drive around searching for street parking and keep feeding the meters, or park two blocks away in a public parking garage and walk back to the hotel. This place feels like an overpriced, run-down motel. Definitely not worth it. Extremely disappointing and honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I will never stay here again and I absolutely do not recommend it to anyone.

Prime Rib

Wow! I have to start by highlighting the incredible hospitality at the Sterling Hotel. The staff were so diligent and attentive--Scout, Abby, and PK the bartender were especially friendly. Being pregnant, I truly appreciated how Scout went above and beyond to assist me. The Chef's passion for his craft really shines through--the food was outstanding. His au jus and horseradish sauce were absolutely spectacular. I wish I could come back to dine for the prime ribs! Thank you, Wedgewood/Sterling Hotel, for an unforgettable night. 10/10 would recommend

We stayed here for our 16th wedding anniversary; just for a little one-night getaway. We booked through Expedia, paying $160.84. The pictures are pretty good at depicting the cuteness and charm ... HOWEVER: * There were cracks in our huge jacuzzi tub, rendering it unusable. No way was I going to try to soak in that using those jets. (Room 203) * There was good water pressure; HOWEVER, the hot water never got hot! Seriously! We let the hot water run a little longer, never even turned on the cold water, and our showers were still lukewarm. No thanks. * The pillows and blankets were decent; HOWEVER, our bed was a little saggy. It wasn't horrible and we probably would have gotten a good night's sleep; HOWEVER ... * Every time our heater kicked on throughout the night, we heard a rattling in the vent! I can't even count how many times I woke up thanks to that annoying rattle. * See in the check-in paperwork how it says, "The Sterling Hotel parking voucher is only for the Memorial Parking Garage ... for a fee of $16 of one-time use which covers a 24-hour period." Then it says, "The Sterling Hotel does not offer free parking validations or vouchers at any parking destinations at this time." When we checked in, we both remember being told about the $16 parking voucher. When we checked out, we were told they do not give out vouchers, at all. When I questioned their paperwork, we were told, "Yeah, I know, it's false ... The general manager does not like to change paperwork." (Yes, quote, unquote). We paid $17.50 at the garage. We never asked for any free parking, just to save $1.50. Not a huge savings, but it's still the principle of what they have advertised versus what was actually offered. Hm ... * The Continental Breakfast was exactly that, consisting of oatmeal, English muffins, bagels, fruit, coffee, tea, and juice. Nothing extravagant. Very simple. * We didn't really have to interact with any of the staff, but those we did see in passing were very friendly. * Location: Not too bad; centrally located to a lot of restaurants, boutiques, and bars. We Lyfted all night. Overall, I WOULD NOT recommend staying here, especially for $160 per night!

This review is just for the ballroom facilities that my professional association rented for a special awards dinner. This was my first time in the old Sterling/Chanterelle building since it changed hands years ago. The main dining/ballroom is quite beautiful and is a ~great~ place for a large group dinner event in the downtown area. High ceilings and a very spacious space for an elegant dinner or other celebration...the Sterling is a place to consider if you're looking for someplace to hold a large reception. For those who don't want to deal with the tribulations of finding downtown parking, the light rail station at 12th and H is only one block away.

2:00 am and the lights won't turn off. The switch is broken and we can't get the lights to turn off. Lights flickering all night.

warning!!Read all the other reviews!! I wish I did. Horrible experience. Old hotel with flickering lights in the room. Room lights go on and off all throughout the night. As you can see there is no assistance. No one to call. No one at the front desk. Just a rundown ghetto hotel. We thought we got a good deal but there is a reason it was so cheap. Horrible night. Don't expect anyone around. I'm still in disbelief this happened. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

I've stayed here before many years ago and the hotel went through a recent remodel a few years back. With the remodel, it is very nice looking inside with the bar now at the center of the atrium. The king suite is also very spacious and very comforting. Can't beat the river view as well as overlooking the Tower Bridge and the A's ballpark across the river. Upon check-in, received a complimentary bag with candy bars and a bag of chips. One thing missing in the snack center was ice cream LOL I was looking for some Haagen-Dazs dark chocolate bar haha Other Embassy Suites typically have it either for purchase or complimentary. Overall great experience with friendly and accommodating staff. The staff were also holding a Halloween decor contest. I voted for #2 as there were only 2 entries at the time Lol

The person checking us in explained that they were sold out the night before which was the reason rooms weren't ready. I call BS as checkout is 11:00. Rooms should be ready by 3:30 period. Our room didn't end up being ready until 4:15. Besides that ridiculousness we had a great stay. I'm a big fan of The Embassy Suites product overall. Being a family of five it works out great. You can't beat the bigger room, free breakfast, free happy hour, and indoor pool/hot tub. Location is great right by the river. Very convenient to Old Town Sacramento, Downtown Sacramento, and right acroos the bridge from Sutter Health Park. Room was typical Embassy Suites Room with separate living room with pull out couch and bedroom. Room was very clean and appeared to be recently renovated. Enjoyed a dip in the hot tub as well. It was indoor along with the pool. Due to timing didn't get to take advantage of the free happy hour. Enjoyed the free breakfast in the morning. Many hot and cold items as well as made to ordet omelets which is amazing. I enjoyed my omelet. Will continue to stay at Embassy Suites Properties. They definitely need to make sure rooms are ready in a timely fashion.

The restaurant and bar are great too--I definitely recommend trying them if you get a chance. I especially want to recognize Dwayne at the front desk. He was wonderful at check-in, and I appreciated how discreetly he shared our room information. For safety, I don't like when hotel staff announce room numbers out loud. He simply told us our floor and handed us the key with the room number written on it. That detail matters to me. Later, my feet were hurting so badly from my heels that I was walking without shoes. Dwayne noticed and ran to the front door to bring me slippers. It was such a kind, thoughtful gesture, and I wanted to make sure he got recognition for it. They have you sign a receipt after the meal and you take it to the front desk so they can take it off your bill. When we arrived at 3pm, they said the room was clean, but hadn't been inspected and they would text me in 10min when it's done. Fast forward an hour later, and no text came through. We checked in with the front desk and their apology was that they forgot to let us know... The front desk agent didn't go through any of the hotel amenities or benefits as part of the Edit. 2) Room itself is nice and shower is enormous, but no bathtub which seems like a missed opportunity. 3) Social hour (5-6pm) is fun with generous pours of local wines, beer, cocktails and mocktails. Pool is popular and they provide sunscreen, which is a nice touch. No hot tub. Also, they are quite strict that it's only for hotel guests as there is someone guarding the entrance. 4) The only on-site hotel restaurant, Revival, is 21+, which is discouraging for families. I woke up with 2 very sore fingers on my right hand. I reported to desk (only 1 staff working solo). She did give me an ice pack and a wrap. She did apologize. She asked me what she could do. That's odd to me, I've been in customer service over 45 years, I never asked a customer "what can I do?" for bad service or experience s...just make it better. I told her have someone go remove the nightstand so the next guest doesn't get injured. I went back to room to record how severely unbalanced the table was. A HK Supv (Myneli) was very kind but also unsure came by, I told her take it out PLEASE. It's a handicap room to make it easier for those of us with disabilities, not to make it unsafe or uncomfortable! She removed it as I requested. The front desk agent, said she was going to make an incident report and a manager would contact me, I never heard from anyone. That was 5 days ago. The front desk agent said she would put some points on my honors account, never happened. I also reported that I left my breakfast passes on the same dresser I placed the tip (not 2gether) the tip and passes were gone. The front desk did replace them, thank you. I also chose this location because it had an outside hot tub near the pool but was disappointed to see CAUTION tape like a crime scene. No access. PLEASE update repairs so we have accurate info when booking! I opted for a hot bath (dirty tub, I had to clean. See photos) There was also long hairs on the soap & shampoo bottles. I always travel with clorox wipes BUT why do we have to spend so much money and still have to sanitize a room? I still leave a cash tip daily because im sure they work hard & are most likely low wages. It's the right thing to do. Lastly the decor in the room was off.
