Such a pleasant ride! I called Bangor-Bay Harbor Express the day prior to my departure. Although no one answered, I got a text message instantly and sent an email to bangorbarharborexpress@gmail.com. I received a response within 5 minutes stating that he could take me to the airport. I received a few more emails that reassured me that Joseph would indeed be able to give me a ride! The morning of my departure, Joseph emailed me again to let me know he'd be there to pick me up at 9:30 am. He arrived a couple of minutes early, loaded my suitcase in his van, and drove me to the airport in time for my departure. Thank you for being so accommodating and reliable. I hope everyone else that uses your shuttle services has just as great of a time learning about Maine as I did. I loved hearing all the stories about your life here in Maine and all your encounters here. The local perspective is always the cherry on top! If you can help passengers figure out how to smuggle the blueberries on the airplanes - that would be super duper wonderful! :)

    I had a really disappointing experience this morning with Brunswick Taxi. I have a traumatic brain…read moreinjury (TBI), and I've worked really hard over the years on things like my speech and confidence in everyday interactions. Because of that, this situation hit me harder than it might otherwise. My driver (he was wearing a burgundy leather jacket, had a big mustache) made a comment that I "seemed sketchy" simply because I tried to use Apple Pay. That caught me completely off guard. If this were late at night, maybe I could understand a bit more caution--but this was a normal daytime ride, and I was clearly trying to pay for the trip. I wasn't acting suspicious or trying to avoid payment in any way. I was actually being friendly and conversational during the ride. He even mentioned he was having a boring Easter weekend, so I tried to engage and be polite. That's why the comment felt even more unnecessary and discouraging. On top of that, the driver didn't seem to know where we were going. At one point, he was about to take a turn in the opposite direction, which would have added time (and cost) to my fare. I didn't make a big deal out of it at the time, but it was frustrating--especially since this could have easily been avoided by just entering the address into a GPS. What made it more confusing was that when we arrived, he started chatting with a worker at the laundromat like he knew the area, which made the situation feel inconsistent. I understand that drivers may have had bad experiences in the past, but I don't think it's fair to label or ridicule someone based on how they choose to pay--especially in a world where digital payments are completely normal. As long as someone has the funds and intends to pay, that should be what matters. Honestly, the interaction left me feeling embarrassed and discouraged. After putting in a lot of effort to rebuild my confidence, this really set me back and ended up ruining my weekend. Because of this experience, I don't think I'll be using this service again.

Today a driver almost hit me going over into my lane so I honked the horn to let him know and as he moved over and I passed he leaned over and gave me the middle finger! Unfortunate that this is how the company is operating and employing.
