The host a Primo had to call him for us when we became panicked and he answered that call right away. Very stressful after a very nice dinner, which was ruined by this. Never responded to my calls, he did eventually pick us up at 11:15 and claimed he doesn't answer the phone while driving or take rides after 11 because he's made enough money by then. It's possible he came from his house, in which case he could have picked up my call. We told him we would need a ride later back to our hotel and he acknowledged that when dropping us off. He DOES NOT schedule pickups, fine, but answer the call until 11, it was a two minute ride back into Rockland. (not Camden as I said prior, but the rest of the facts stand.)

Even when you first meet her it's like visiting an old friend. My husband and I came last year in October and stayed here for an anniversary trip. The campsites were spacious and private and the trees large and beautiful. The outdoor showers were his favorite part. Everything is clean and tidy. Ducktrap Kayak has a really sparse website, but don't let that fool you--they know what they're doing. Rental prices are very reasonable, and they will either help you strap the kayaks to your car or pick you up and drop you off at your convenience. The guy we spoke with was super knowledgable and suggested we kayak around Lake Megunticook (rather than in the ocean), which ended up being a fabulous choice. Even in early June, the water was warm enough to swim in, and there are several 'islands' where you can dock your kayak and stop for a bite to eat or a swim. We started early, so it felt like we had the lake to ourselves! Before he pushed us off, the owner gave us a rundown of how to work the kayaks and some tips for having a great trip. Be sure to check this place out! Definitely makes for a great morning/day of fun!

I really wanted to like this campground. Two of us were planning to stay for one night and booked a…read moresite ahead of time. We were told that our site was on the water and filled out all our information. I was very pleased that they were able to accommodate our stay on such short notice, but when we went to check in on the day of our stay, they told us the site we had rented was already rented and put us in another site about a quarter-mile from the water, and didn't give us any discount or even apologize about this. We then looked at the information sheet we had filled out and they had deliberately written over our reservation and switched it. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this campground to anyone after this terrible experience, especially knowing there are much nicer facilities nearby.
