We were dreading our first dance, so we knew we needed professional help. Working with Erin ended up being one of the most fun parts of preparing for our wedding! Erin had no problem working with us despite our complete lack of dance experience. She listened to our song choice and made it happen. She patiently taught us foundational partner dance moves, then helped us create our first dance from there. Our dance blew our guests away! Learning fun moves like lifts and dips was honestly so much fun. Erin also helped me create a special family dance with my parents and sister. We couldn't recommend her more! read more

We had an absolute blast learning our first dance with Erin! We didn't have any partner dancing experience before doing our lesson, but Erin was very helpful in teaching us the basics and putting together a dance that made us look great! We got many compliments on our dance at our reception! read more

We are so thankful that we found Erin to help us with our first dance! It was one of the highlights of the wedding that our family and guests still talk about! We were nervous about it since my husband and I had little to no dance experience, but she made us feel so comfortable and confident - from teaching us basic ballroom steps to choreographing our very own personalized dance with a few dips and lifts. We had so much fun in every class and practicing in between. It was such a fun couple activity that brought us even closer. And now we have our very own choreographed dance that we can do every anniversary :) If you're thinking about getting a choreographer or deciding between a few, we would without a doubt recommend Erin! And if I had known that she also choreographs Indian Sangeet dances, we would've worked with her on our sangeet dance too! Thank you Erin!! read more

Erin helped my wife and I craft our first dance together, and we could not have been happier!! We came into our first meeting with her having no clue what we were going to do and she choreographed a dance that ended up being simply amazing, a true highlight of the wedding. Not only was the end product fantastic, we also had a lot of fun getting there. In the stressful period leading up to the wedding, the dance lessons were a great way to let off some steam and have fun. Please do and your partner a favor and sign up for a course with Erin if you want help planning a perfect first wedding dance! read more

We booked our dance classes with Erin a little short notice, but she was able to fit us in before our wedding! We weren't really sure what we were getting into. We thought we would just learn a few basic moves. Little did we know Erin would choreograph a personalized dance for us! We were able to learn it within a few classes, and because she sent us a video from class, we were able to practice at home so that we were fully confident on our wedding day. We had so much. It was actually my now husband's favorite wedding planning activity that we did! We highly recommend working with Erin. She has great energy and is super knowledgable and talented. Thank you Erin! read more

Erin was great!!! I've had dance experience, but my now husband did not. She made us feel very comfortable, she is easy to talk to, and was very patient with us (specifically my husband, haha!). Learning with Erin was so much fun! You can suggest moves/styles you want to incorporate to your wedding dance and she will make it work! I like how our first session with her was learning the basics first before trying to come up with a choreography. Oh! And she does the choreography on the spot, which I thought was super cool! After learning the whole dance, it was beautiful! Worth every penny and was definitely a hit at our wedding! 10/10 recommend doing a choreographed wedding dance and 10/10 recommend Erin!! read more

We worked with Erin to create a custom dance for our wedding in June, and it was a fantastic experience! We ended up doing the Wowza package because we wanted to create a dance that started as a slower/more traditional dance, but then change songs mid-way to something more fun/funky/upbeat. Erin was incredibly helpful, encouraging, upbeat and fun to work with from start to finish. At the beginning, we weren't sure what kind of dance we wanted, and Erin asked questions to get to know us, understand what we were generally going for, and then helped guide us in figuring out the approach to our dance. Throughout the process Erin would suggest trying various dance moves and then coach us through them, and through that process we created a very unique, custom dance that both of us were excited about. Erin also had practical suggestions for the wedding day itself, which were very helpful. Our dance on our wedding day went beautifully, and all of our family and friends loved it. The entire process was collaborative and fun, and we highly recommend working with Erin. read more

We're really happy and thankful for Erin's help as we were preparing our first dance together. My partner and I are not dancers, let alone felt comfortable coordinating an effort here. Luckily we met Erin during a wedding fair and did a consultation and she walked us through the steps and what we'd need to do and her packages. We picked a relatively short song (about 2.5 minutes) so we went with the standard (basic) package, including five lessons and our video recordings to practice further at home. In short, it was perfect for what we intended and as the package is named, it was lovely. We don't have our video or photos done yet but will share them when we can. We were able to feel comfortable dancing a short choreographed number in front of our closest friends and family and really enjoyed working with Erin through our lessons. We definitely encourage you to heed her advice and let her dynamically adjust and create your dances together. When we faltered, she coached us to improve and honestly kindled a spark in a hobby my partner and I didn't know we had! If you're looking for a lovely wedding first dance, or really any sort of choreography, definitely speak with Erin - she'll make you look great and have a great event. read more

Erin played an incredibly special part in our wedding which made one of the most memorable moments of the entire day, our first dance! It was an absolute delight and a breeze working with Erin. She helped create a fully customized first dance that my wife and I were not only comfortable performing, but was fully tailored to our ability as dancers (which also grew through Erin's super-valuable lessons). Throughout the entire experience, we were always excited and eager for our next session - it NEVER felt like a chore and always felt like one step closer to building the PERFECT dance that embodied who we are individually, and collectively as a couple. Erin is an absolute pro and it was so fun working with her. She listened to every random idea we threw at her and provided insight to help us decide how our dance would be set up (I.e. based on the difficulty of the move, the space we had to dance, location, guest view, etc). I'd eagerly work with Erin again for any future dance needs and would HIGHLY recommend Erin to any couples seeking dance lessons for their special day or any special occasion (or just to have fun!) We're so grateful we found Erin - our first dance was a top highlight of our wedding and we absolutely could not have done it without her. Her help was invaluable and I cannot sing her praises highly enough. With gratitude and appreciation, Jordan read more

My husband and I met Erin through our wedding planner and we couldn't have been more thrilled!! Erin is a visionary who really tailors her work to you and your partner based on the energy she feels flow from you, so her lessons and instructions come naturally and feel very organic. My husband and I are not pros whatsoever but with Erin's help we killed it on the dance floor for our first dance and just felt like one with each other, as if nobody else was there while we went with our own flow. Our dance was a beautiful artistic reflection of our relationship and we are SO grateful to have been guided to Erin! read more

Erin is an amazing dance instructor and human being. I am incredibly awkward and have minimal dance experience. My partner and I went to Erin seeking wedding dance lessons. Within 5 lessons, we made significant progress! She was so comforting, understanding, and created a psychologically safe space for me to feel more comfortable and pull off my wedding dance. I would recommend more than 5 lessons in general as we procrastinated and crammed. And I would also recommend working with Erin to train for your wedding dance! She offers other dance styles that I plan to pursue in the future as well! read more

We LOVED working with Erin. We were looking for someone who could help us coordinate a dance that was authentic, fun, and most importantly, more interesting than us swaying repeatedly for 3 minutes :) My partner had experience dancing, but I had next to none. Erin was such a blast to work with. She is passionate about dance but she maintained a laid-back approach. Erin was genuinely invested in the success of the dance she coordinated for us, but was sensitive to our comfort levels and checked in with us along the way to make sure the process was fun. We were very please with the dance we did! I would definitely recommend couples of any experience level work with Erin! read more

Working with Erin of Steps to Love Wedding Dances was the best choice we could make. We wanted to create a unique first dance, mixing a blend of ballroom and funky/pop dance styles. Erin fully embraced our idea and ran with it - which is why our first dance ended up being so special! Erin was incredibly creative and offered a unique learning experience - she not only taught us the basics of ballroom dance, but curated all the choreography along with us to make us feel like an integral part of the process. From the start she clearly explained waltz basics, and helped us become comfortable with partner dancing (we felt like we were part of a professional dance class!). She took time to make sure we felt comfortable with the moves and answered our (often repeat) questions each week. For the funky/pop portion, she encouraged us to let loose and really out our creative sides - again, Erin made sure we were integrated in the choreography process and felt like we added our unique touches to it. We had such a blast working with her to put the whole thing together!! Most importantly, Erin brought out the inner dancer from within each of us; my husband, who had no prior dance experience, was nervous at first, but truly blossomed and unleashed his inner dancer, which was incredible to see and experience. Our journey with Erin to our first dance was so memorable because it was so fun and we created something together - for all those wondering whether to invest in their first dance, this is your sign to do so!! Erin is so professional, fun, and will make you realize what a great dancer you are. Our first dance is something we will never forget, and we will have this unique choreography as part of our relationship forever. We have Erin to thank for helping us create & learn it, and for making this such a memorable part of our big day - we are so grateful to have worked with her and cannot recommend Steps to Love Wedding Dances enough to all couples!!! read more

Erin was really great at working with us on a short time frame to come up with a dance that we were comfortable with to do at our wedding :). We went through several options, and she paid close attention to what we wanted and what we liked. Erin is absolutely AMAZING!!! Hiring her for our first dance was one of our best wedding decisions! We knew we didn't know a thing about dancing and were so glad that we ended up going with Erin. She is very patient and talented! Our first dance is comprised of 3 songs, all of varying tempos, but Erin was able to create a cohesive dance that we were both comfortable with and impressed by! It was amazing to see how my fiance and I could do moves we never imagined to be doing, all because of Erin's teachings . I wish I could be a guest at our wedding, to see our dance! I highly, highly, highly recommend hiring Erin! The lessons are totally worth the cost, so please include them in your wedding budget. Do not skimp out on having a memorable first dance! Further, we had the most fun during our dance practices! They truly gave us a break from the chaos of planning, and really allowed us to be in the moment, which we thoroughly appreciated. Thank you, Erin, for everything !!! read more

If you are on the fence about dance lessons for your first dance - 100% take the plunge with Erin! We had five lessons with Erin to create our first dance routine. Our first dance on the big day went amazing and above all else - was so much fun (some of our favorite photos came from our dance!!) Neither of us had any dance experience and we are also excited to have so many cool, new moves in our back pockets for all dance floors in the years to come. Thank you, Erin for helping us make our big day so memorable. read more

We had a great time working with Erin on our first dance! She goes beyond the role of an instructor, and you can tell she is truly an artist. She was extremely creative in her choreography and created a memorable dance that we had fun practicing and performing. We were relative novices when we began working with her but felt confident after 6 sessions. She worked within our skill level while pushing us to do more than we initially thought we could. We would highly recommend taking a break from wedding planning to take classes with Erin! read more

Erin was SUCH an incredible dance teacher and lead me and my husband to having the most wonderful first dance, truly a dream! From the very beginning, she communicated with us clearly to understand what we were looking to get out of working together. I am a dancer however I've never partner danced before, so we wanted to really understand the fundamentals and she truly excelled at that! Not only did we get a beautiful first dance choreo, but we now have lasting technique that has enabled us to go out dancing together and knowing what we are doing ^_^. The choreography process was very smooth, there was amazing collaboration between the vision we had as well as her highly professional choreography choices, our guests adored it :D. Each lesson we came out of it more and more confident leading up to our big day. We couldn't have been happier hiring Erin and I highly recommend her for any of your dance needs!! Thanks so so much again for everything Erin! read more

Erin is a fantastic dance teacher. She created a wonderful first dance for my wife and I based on our song and helped us learn it quickly and with joy! I never thought in a million years that I'd be happy to dance in front of a crowd and proud of the outcome; Erin got us there. My wife and I came to Erin for dance lessons about a month before our wedding. We had pretty much zero dance experience at this point and didn't know what to expect. Erin set us at ease by taking the time to ask thoughtful questions and getting to know us as a couple. She then provided us with some basic drills to get us up to speed quickly.Over the course of 5 lessons, Erin provided excellent feedback and worked with us to choreograph a routine that was fun for us, fun for the audience, and within our abilities. She records each session at the end so we can watch afterwards to help us fine-tuning our routine. Thanks to her instruction, we had a wonderful first dance that got a lot of compliments. Even better than a great first dance, Erin showed us how much fun dancing together can be. Thank you, Erin! read more

I am glad that I took a leap of faith 6 months ago! Erin is the reason I am a better dancer, she gave me the tools to go on the dance floor with more confidence and freedom. We would make up moves on the fly or follow dance videos on YouTube. She helped me prepare for a Smino and Gunna concert awhile ago; that night was so much fun. I am forever grateful she's awesome. read more

My daughter needed some audition prep for a high school musical so I searched on Yelp to find an instructor. That's how I found Erin. After some back and forth through text we were able to firm up a time for my daughter's lesson. Erin was pretty thorough about dance lesson schedule and costs. She also informed us of location. Note that our location was at a church so not a traditional dance studio. For us the location worked fine as it was conveniently located. However, if you need a traditional dance studio you might want to discuss location with Erin in case she has other locations. We ended up going with two lessons. Initially we thought maybe three but given the audition material/choreography and schedules, we ended up deciding on two. One thing I would recommend is that if you are bringing a kid/student, make sure that they get hydrated and have bathroom breaks in advance. Otherwise you use some of your lesson time for that. The first lesson was used for the basics and the second lesson was used for the specific choreography for the audition. My daughter felt pretty comfortable with the audition material after the second lesson. As Erin pointed out, confidence is a big part of the audition. Erin was able to help with that as well as with the technical requirements of the choreography. We haven't hear back yet whether my daughter will be getting a spot in the musical, there was also acting and vocal auditions as well. We were happy with the help we got from Erin. I would highlight that if you do a package deal with Erin there is a discount but you need to let her know on the day of the first lesson. Because we waited to decide on the package deal we were no longer eligible for the discount. Erin really stayed in front of us on the scheduling and made an effort to try and get my daughter in before the audition. She also had us video some parts of the choreography, which we found particularly helpful. read more

I can't say enough great things about Erin! She's an incredibly experienced dancer with a strong ability to teach all different types of dance students. From ballet to two-stepping to swing to hip hop to choreographing couples' first dances for their wedding... she's versatile and can do it all extremely well. For over 6 months, I've been learning many different types of dance from Erin during our one-on-one private dance sessions, and I plan to continue learning from her with no end in sight. She is an upbeat, kind, and genuine person and makes every lesson as fun as it is instructive. If you want private dance lessons, look no further - Erin's your gal! read more

Highly highly recommend!!! We went to Erin to help us choreograph our wedding dance and she went above and beyond to make our dance incredibly personal, special, and crazy fun. She was super responsive and accommodating for scheduling and was always a ton of fun to work with. She is incredibly talented, passionate about dancing and dance instruction, professional, and creative. Our friends and family can't stop talking about our dance. read more

Everything about this experience was wonderful. My wife and I met Erin locally in SF (wedding in Tahoe), where we had scheduled a full day of learning & dancing. Rather than having the dance mapped out from the moment we arrived, she had us go through some movements, ask about what sorts of elements we were interested in, and the dance came together organically throughout the day. As we slowly got better, she incorporated videos to help us improve more, and sent us home with them to practice! A week after, but only a week before the ceremony, we met up again. We showed the progress we'd made (she provided videos with and without instruction so we could practice from home) and we made some final tweaks and adjustments. Moving beyond the experience and the dance itself (which was a hit!!!), Erin was a patient teacher and clearly was invested in getting to know us as a couple, not just teaching us a dance. She asked us how we met, what we loved about one another, what sort of connection we had with our venue site, etc. This added to the experience and made it not just hiring another vendor, but something to remember. Not to mention, we now know some dance fundamentals that we've already busted out again!! read more

Our daughter had been a gymnast in the past and wanted to explore ballet and dance. Erin was really incredible at giving her a rapid diagnostic, helping her to accelerate through the first stages of dance, and providing great recommendations on what her long term path might look like. I would highly recommend her for anyone who has a child who is looking to explore dance. read more

I came to Erin with a crazy idea and Erin made it happen! My friends and I wanted to surprise my best friend with a flashmob during her wedding. With 5 weeks to go, I still had not found a choreographer I could trust. And then I found Erin. As we talked through the essentials (the song, dance experience, practice logistics etc.), I knew I was in good hands. Erin was prepared with recommendations and together we shaped a game plan. Dancing is not my forte, so I was nervous when we met for the first time to practice. But after a fun 45 mn practice session I left feeling confident about the steps and excited to see it all come to life with the rest of the group. Now, there was a HUGE logistical challenge: most folks participating in the flashmob had to learn Erin's steps remotely... so what did Erin do? She made a video with a breakdown of the choreography! Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q81D_Iy1gyM. So, if you have a crazy idea, reach out to Erin - she'll make it happen! read more

Erin is an incredible teacher, who approaches her students with a true desire to help them achieve their goals. Whether you're trying to learn swing dance or social dance, elements of Latin dance and beyond (all of which my wife and I have been working on with her for nearly a year now and will continue to do for as long as she'll have us!), Erin has it covered. She infuses her knowledge as a professional dancer into each lesson. Her enthusiasm goes hand in hand with her encouragement, and both add to the fun she will lead you through.
