My daughter has attended Stepping Stone Plum Creek since she was 3 months old. As a first time mom, I can tell you there was nothing more unnerving to me, at the time, than trying to select a daycare. We visited a few, but were ultimately impressed most by the tour, teachers, and facility at Stepping Stone Plum Creek. Now, 12 months later, I couldn't be happier with our choice. I won't pretend like every day is exactly perfect*. I won't say that communication is 100% on point all the time*. I won't tell you that she doesn't come home with the occasional bump, or bruise*. I will tell you though that the directors and teachers here have more love for my child than I would ever expect from an unrelated person. They legitimately want the best for her and all of the other children there. They are excited to see the children and miss them when they are gone. They are excited to teach them new things and they recall random events that happen throughout each day to fill you in on when you come to pick up. Not because they have to, but because they hold a legitimate interest in your child and they want to share that with you. I've kept meaning to write a review, but hadn't felt totally compelled to until recent events. When word of the "pandemic" started circulating, this group was ahead of the curve on implementing all of the necessary safety measures. They kept up with everything that was being asked of them, in order to keep our children safe and keep the doors open, so those of us operating in essential businesses could still perform our duties. There was almost constant written and verbal communication with the parents and a definite feeling of "as soon as we know something, you'll know something," that allows for a great deal of comfort in a situation like this. Even as the Mayor of Kyle decided to shut down daycare facilities, this group was quick to find accommodations and make arrangements for us to attend sister schools, outside of the city (we attended the Stepping Stone at Brodie.) Having only ever attended the Plum Creek location, I was (admittedly,) over the top nervous and anxious about taking my child to another location. All of those feelings completely subsided though as we walked up for our first day there and were greeted by people from Plum Creek. Ms. Kristi, Ms. Priscilla, and Ms. Kayla maintained a near constant presence there, which put me completely at ease. They knew how difficult it would be for the children if there had not been any familiar faces and they took that into consideration when making their plans for how to handle this. I can say, I had daily child care during a pandemic and hardly worried about it any more than any other day of a normal week. That's more than I ever could have asked for. Daycare is an extension of your family and I can't imagine ever going anywhere other than Stepping Stone at Plum Creek. *If you expect any child care facility to be 100% perfect 100% of the time, I think you are grossly underestimating what child care is and should quite possibly consider staying home with your child/children. To that end, if you do, I wish you the best of luck being solely responsible for having perfect days, as it's probably not as easy as you think. I've watched my child fall down in my own home, so it's quite unreasonable to think it shouldn't happen elsewhere. read more

My little one went to this center from 6 weeks old to 18 months old, in total 3 classroom age groups. In each class we had several different experiences which I will explain. The center had cameras but the parents cannot view them at all. The baby room 6week-11months We had a great experience in this room. A few issues that happened but quick reactions and fixes. I was mostly happy with the care in this room. Child started walking/crawling early. 10months-12months This classroom from my understanding was used to help transition into the bigger toddler room and adjust to more of a schedule that wasn't in the baby room. The bad part was this room was hardly open for whatever reason so the transition wasn't apple to happen. Again shoes not enforced. (This caused runny noses and could never keep clear) 12months-18months This is when all the issues started to happen. Bites happen so wasn't surprised when it did happen. But the first one happened before even moving to this classroom but on a visit in the classroom. When this happened it started the behavior that my child started biting. I am never for this behavior but this kind of behavior never happened at home so I couldn't stop it. The school rather segregate a child in a high chair for hours everyday instead of showing boundaries and teaching. They would send child home which was a reward so again boundaries never taught. On top of this issue of not wanting to set boundaries and encourage healthy behaviors with sharing with friends, they would always remove pants and shoes. I would pick up with my child in just a onesie. They were so worried about what problems were going on with my child that when something happened to my child they never knew and I had to ask several times for an incident report that would come days later and didn't know if it was the full truth. Due to these issues I wanted to move centers. I moved the center closer to my job. They only gave my child a week calling him a problem due to all the unhealthy boundaries set by this center. I find it strange that now I have been to a whole new daycare all together and have camera access that I do not see the issues that this daycare said were occurring. My child hasn't had any incidents reports and now that pants and shoes are being enforced there isn't anymore runny nose. Now that my child isn't locked up in a high chair, they are ready to close for the day instead of wanting to play (which should have been happening during the day) read more

My son started at Stepping Stone - Plum Creek when he was 7 months old. He's just over a year old now, and we have loved our experience. He is currently in Ms. Jennifer and Mrs. Desiree's Gigabyte class and I could not be more grateful for them loving my baby so well when I can't be around. My much-to-busy-to-be-super-affectionate son literally runs into Mrs. Desiree's arms every morning and gives Ms. Jenn at least 5 hugs before we leave in the afternoon. They always make sure that I'm apprised of everything going on in my son's day, good or bad. They keep me feeling connected with pictures throughout the day in the Tadpole app and anecdotes about his adventures when I pick him up. They have always meticulously documented any bump or bruise that he has and I have never had any concern about his safety or their oversight. I'm so glad he is with people that care about him, are dedicated to teaching him to be a good little human, and always celebrate his milestones with me-- whether it is getting in a good nap, finally eating his lunches, or learning to communicate some of his needs with sign language. We are both already so sad about transitioning out of their classroom (I'd love for them to move up with him!), but have had such wonderful experiences with so many other teachers throughout the school. Teachers that aren't in his classroom greet him in the morning and say goodbye to him by name. The principal, Ms. Priscilla, gives me updates about his progress and I believe is always operating with his best interest in mind. I am excited for my son to partake in the all the activities that are offered as he gets older and gives him the foundation to love school moving forward. read more

My family took a big step moving away from our family support into the city in pursuit of career advancement last fall. The scariest part of it all was that our son, Beckham, would have to begin his first ever public daycare/school relatively quickly as we both had to begin work. Our research and commitment to finding the absolute perfect place where the staff/teachers would look after him as if he were their own ended here at Stepping Stone in Plum Creek. Ms. Priscilla made our initial visit and tour absolutely seamless and worry free as we took Beckham into what would end up being his favorite place to be! Since day 1 at the school Mrs. Lyndsey has absolutely been everything that we prayed for in a guardian away from home for our son. Beckham has not only learned so much in his short time here, but he also talks very highly of the teachers and we can tell when we are at the school events, or picking him up that the staff's attention and priority are the children! I would recommend her and all the teachers at this location to ANYBODY. When we first decided we were going to put our son in daycare at 13 weeks old we were so nervous! After touring a few schools, we enrolled our son in Stepping Stone. It wasn't easy in the beginning, but we have been blown away by the amazing teachers and the friendships we've built. Ms. Connie in the infant room, is truly an angel. Dealing with a first time, sad mom who is nervous to leave her son can't be easy Ms. Connie made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions. We were bummed when our son moved up classes, but we knew it was time. Since moving up, Mrs. Desiree and Ms. Jennifer have done more than we could ask for! In the last couple months he's learned to feed himself, crawl, clap, wave, etc. Our son has learned so much and loves to be at school. We are very grateful and appreciative for Mrs. Desiree and Ms. Jennifer! So many teachers at Stepping Stone have impacted us positively (Kaitlyn, Kayla, Courtney) and we are so grateful to know our son is in good hands. The principal, Mrs. Priscilla, has been great at hearing our concerns and offering solutions. She makes an effort to get to know you and that truly goes a long way. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Stepping Stone School. From the moment we enrolled our child, we have felt confident that she is in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. The staff is truly exceptional--kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child's growth and well-being. It is clear that the teachers go above and beyond every day. They create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where children feel comfortable, encouraged, and excited to learn. My daughter has not only developed academically, but also socially and emotionally, and I credit so much of that to the care and dedication of this team. Communication with parents is consistent and thoughtful, which gives us great peace of mind. We always feel informed and included in our child's day-to-day experiences. Choosing a childcare center is one of the most important decisions a parent can make, and I am so grateful we found this one. I've written a review about the school - 5 stars, by the way, but I wanted to specifically call out Mrs. Lyndsey. She is the primary Pre-K teacher at the Plum Creek location and an absolute force of nature. In a few short months our son went from consistently telling us he had 'played' at school, to telling us the specific things he had learned and done that day. He always comes home excited to tell us what they had done, and being able to engage him in this way has been absolutely invaluable, and 100% the influence of Mrs. Lyndsey and her teaching. You can tell she loves each and everyone of the the kids, and is a Mama herself. She also goes the extra mile by sending home homework for not only my son, but his 3 year old sister as well who loves to learn alongside brother. I'm looking forward to when Mrs. Lyndsey is her teacher, too! We are so thankful for her, and feel confident our little man will stride into Kinder next year not only ready to go, but ahead of his peers thanks to her! read more

Stepping Stone Plum Creek has been the best place for my daughter. At 2 1/2 she went from staying at home full-time to jumping right into full-time daycare. It was a HUGE transition for her. The staff took her in like she was one of their own. Ms. Kayla was her first teacher, and she was great at helping her transition. Ms. Lyndsey is her current teacher, and I can not say enough great things about her. She has helped my daughter with everything from potty training to helping her with her vocabulary. She provides a variety of learning activities for the kids. My daughter went from not wanting us to leave her at school, to now not wanting to leave with us when we pick her up. My son started at Stepping Stone shortly after turning 2. He is now 4.5, and we started our daughter when she was just shy of a year old, she is now 2.5. Our children THRIVE at Stepping Stone Plum Creek. They have passed through many teachers in their times, but one thing has always been consistent; They are happy, well taken care of, and the team has done a tremendous job ensuring the health and safety of my little people. I have never felt uneasy leaving my children in their capable care, and a special shoutout to Mrs. Micayla for doing what we could not - Getting our son Tristen to be excited about the potty! He's now fully potty trained, and we attribute that almost 100% to her diligence and care. read more

We've been going to Stepping Stone Plum Creek for a little over three years now. We starting with my first child at three months and now we have two kiddos there, a baby and toddler. I have always felt confident that my babies are being taken care of. During COVID, they have taken all precautions and been super careful, which I truly appreciate. There's been some management chances around three months ago and I've noticed a huge improvement in communication. I feel informed on my kids' daily activities, struggles or successes. We love the teachers and feel they sincerely care for our children. They are really helping with potty training, which is awesome. We are very happy with the care they provide! read more

My daughter went through a big transformation when we moved from Leander to Kyle last year. Leaving behind all she knew, first house, friends, neighbors and a great school. I was so scared that we wouldn't find another great school. We started going to Stepping Stone in January this year and it was the best decision we could have made. In 5 months she has learned and grown so much! We owe it all to her amazing teachers for teaching her everything she has learned. Stepping Stone (especially this location) is THE perfect source of education and structure for children. Their daily routine involves more than just children running around and playing with toys. The teachers emphasize specific educational needs, and tailor their approach to accommodate each child. The communication between the teachers and parents is respectable, informative, and always within a timely manner. The facility is always clean and feels welcoming. Overall this is hands down the best route for developing children and I would highly recommend Stepping Stone School - Plum Creek to anyone! read more

The bottom line is: it's so hard, no matter what parent you are, to let someone else watch your child. I personally came from another child care facility and notice a difference in my daughter immediately. She doesn't even say bye that often because she is so excited to be there...tears. Lets be real, no matter what place you bring your child there will always be things that need to be addressed here and there. Pracilla is quick to resolve the issue and they don't happen again. My daughter is about to complete her time with Stepping Stone Plum Creek. She is 11 and has been at this location since she was 4yrs old! We went through PreK graduation and now in the after school program. Mrs. Lyndsey the Campus Principal ,who was the prek teacher,and Mrs. Lorena the Assistant are wonderful! They also do swim lessons in the summer time and my daughter loves Ms. Ashlyn the lifeguard! Stepping Stone paved the way for my daughter's public education and she thrived in elementary because of them! I cannot thank them enough! read more

When my wife and I had to return to work after the birth of our child, we were VERY anxious about leaving our baby with someone else. Thankfully the staff of Stepping Stone is so wonderful and caring. My 3.5 year old attended SS since she was 6 months old. She thrives at this school and has had so many amazing teachers. Ms Brittane and Ms Lindsey were amazing principals and communicators. Her teachers truly care and I loved the detailed updates I would get through them face to face and in the app. Highly recommend SS Plum Creek. Her teachers, Ms. Laura and Ms. Lyndsey, are really great with the students and the kids really enjoy the lessons they are learning with these two.
