When I started taking lessons from Helen, I knew nothing, ground zero. She was extremely patient, very supportive, and most of all made me free comfortable. She really cares and shares my excitement while making progress. This experience has changed my life, giving me confidence in the ballroom and also into my everyday life. I would definitely recommend Helen as a dance instructor, one of the best decisions I ever made. read more

Highly recommend Steppin' Out Dance Studios with Helen Andrade. During the Covid lockdown my lovely wife and I started trying to teach ourselves Swing[East/West/Western], Two-Step and Salsa. As things opened up we stopped our home lessons. I must say we were teaching ourselves home-surgery without a doctor. So for our 35th anniversary my wife gave us lessons at Petaluma's Stepping Out with Helen Andrade. We, through our lessons, landed on East Coast Swing to work on first. We showed her what we thought we knew and I'm sure it must have been painful to watch. Helen is very patient and with me she was a saint. It is very fun to get professional instruction and meet Helen. Her professionalism and musicology is superb. We both bought bonafide dance shoes and it makes a big difference to properly spin and move while honing our beginner and moving on to intermediate skills and also learn more dances. read more

Highly recommend Helen! I bought private dance lessons for my partner and I for Christmas and was not sure what to expect. Truthfully I was a bit nervous that my two left feet would never get it right and the instructor would say there as no hope for me LOL. Helen was great! She is very patient, runs through the steps as many times as you need to perfect the move and steps in to show you how. She pays attention to every move and jumps in to show you where you are "making it harder" and how to make changes so that the moves flow. She is an excellent teacher and we look forward to many more lessons and dancing the night away in perfect harmony. We have been out dancing and testing out the new moves and have been complimented on how well we dance together. Thank you Helen. read more

Helen was a fantastic instructor for us while we learned a dance for our wedding. She was patient and kind and very encouraging. She made us feel comfortable and the lessons were enjoyable. She even switched gears with us halfway through with grace when we realized my wedding gown was so big it wouldn't work with some of the dance moves we had selected. Would highly recommend! read more

Helen and Steppin' Out Dance Studios truly deserve 5 stars! Helen provided wedding dance lessons for my wife and I and we couldn't be happier with our experience. She helped us pick a song and develop a routine for our first dance by getting to know us and using her excellent professional judgement. She talked to us and listened to us throughout the process, always making sure that we were happy with the direction of our routine. She used her incredible dance intuition and knowledge to make sure that we pushed ourselves and progressed, but always at a comfortable pace. Every lesson was full of fun and satisfaction. We were extremely happy with our final routine and proud to show it off to our friends and family. We highly recommend Helen for lessons, routine development, and anything dance related! read more

Helen is not only an amazing dancer, but she's truly gifted at instruction. Dance is something that people don't put much time and effort into learning these days, but I hope with great instructors like Helen there will be a revival in interest! Whether a person is young or old, a natural or not, Helen's instructive style will help you learn, have fun and not feel like you have two left feet. read more

Helen helped my newly bride and I learn a routine for our first dance. Our wedding guest looked on in amazement as we tore up the dance floor. My wife and I love to dance now even more thanks to Helen. We just completed one of Helen's group Salsa dancing series and look forward to testing our new moves out the next time we go dancing. read more

I recently organized a series of private group dance lessons with Helen. It ended up being challenging trying to meet the scheduling needs of everyone but Helen worked hard to make it work for our group. She was very flexible and accommodating ! As for the lessons themselves, we all had a great time! Helen did a good job meeting the needs of the various skill levels. I definitely recommend Helen! On top of of being a great dance instructor she is a generous woman. I've had the pleasure of dancing with Helen on several different occasions as she has often volunteered her time to charitable auction events. read more

Steppin Out Dance Studios is by far the best dance studio in the area. Helen is truly a wonderful teacher as well as a professional who truly knows her stuff. We highly recommend Helen Andrade of Steppin' Out Dance Studios! Helen is a wonderful and patient instructor. My wife & I wanted to learn a special dance for our wedding reception. We didn't have any previous experience and Helen was perfect, even helping us with song selection. We only wish we would have planned better and spent two months with Helen rather than one (we crammed in 8 lessons in 4 weeks!). We could have used the extra time for practice and take off some of the pressure. 8 lessons for a special dance is definitely a must! Our dance, the Rumba, was a hit and we continue to practice our routine. We're looking forward to taking group lessons with her! read more

Helen is a gifted teacher and dancer. My wife and I started with private lessons, where she taught me how to lead. We have since taken her wonderful group classes, including the Fox Trot, Waltz, Nightclub Two-Step, Salsa, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, and the Jitterbug. Her knowledge of dance is in-depth, based on a lifetime of experience. Whether you are looking to dance just for fun, or want to take it up a level, we highly recommend Helen. read more

Helen Andrade of Steppin' Out Dance studios is a patient and excellent dance teacher. Her ability to show the dance steps from both the "leader's" perspective and the "follower's" perspective was extremely helpful when learning dance steps. I have enjoyed dancing for years and needed to overcome some bad habits (leading when I should be following). I learned that "following" is about trust, something I never thought about in all my years of dancing. Helen is truly a gifted teacher. I look forward to many more classes at Steppin' Out Dance studio. read more

My husband and I chose to do a special dance for our 30th anniversary reception and attended 4 private lessons with Helen. Within a week and a half we had learned enough to "perform" to Remember When! Helen was patient, fit us into her busy schedule, and calmly adjusted our moves so we were comfortable. We had a lot of fun, even when there were moments our feet and brains were not coordinating smoothly. With lots of practice at home, our guests absolutely loved our love song and we look forward to continuing lessons in the near future. I'd highly recommend using Steppin' Out Dance Studios for both fun and those special occasions. Thanks Helen, for believing we could pull this off. read more
