Most everybody knows that I was in a skilled nursing rehabilitation center the last 5 months. Well…read moreI'm no longer there right this minute I am at Parkview hospital on randallia. I fell at the rehabilitation center yesterday evening and laid on the floor for 30 minutes before I called 911 because nobody was answering the call light and would not answer the regular phone when I call their number to let them know I needed help. So I am now admitted to the hospital and waiting for an opening at another rehabilitation center to be open. Tuesday this week I did not get dinner until 10 minutes after 10:00 p.m. Wednesday I was left on the toilet for 47 minutes being the first day that I actually even was taken to the bathroom to use the restroom. And in that 47 minutes I called their main number two different times to let them know that I needed help. I spoke to somebody those two times and they said somebody was coming. I had also pulled the emergency light in the restroom. Yesterday morning I did not receive breakfast at all. Some of the staff were great but I do not recommend ever taking a family member to summit City nursing rehabilitation. The business manager Bree is wonderful. The activity director Audrey is amazing. All the activity staff were amazing very kind loving and compassionate They supported me when mom died. And also supported me when I struggled with being in this situation I was in for 5 months. A few of the nurses were amazing and a few of the CNAs are top notch but unfortunately a lot of the staff does not give a s*** and management does not give a s***. The social worker Jenna never did her job correctly that helped me. I thought I was so blessed and grateful for them taking me to see my mom before she passed away. Even though she was 4 hours away. But that does not give them the right to mistreat the patient just because you do something nice for them. And it doesn't mean that my grievances should be just thrown in the trash and never taken care of. I was injured by the staff trying to stand me up and pivot me to the bed because they had placed too big of a hoyer pad under me that the machine would not lift me up out of my chair. This is when I wasn't able to walk I wasn't even standing yet in therapy by myself. They dropped me and my leg went completely behind me and it irritated the arthritis in my knee so bad that it swelled up and I'm still having issues with it. And it was 5 weeks ago. The PT and OT therapy staff was amazing however their boss Momita needs her head checked because she canceled my therapy because I supposedly plateaued and was not making any progress. So the wellness lady was working with me. I was not able to stand by myself yet or walk or get out of bed or get myself dressed, but the boss still canceled my PT and OT. It was not my insurance it was summit City nursing rehabilitation therapy director who made that call. However the wellness lady worked with me and she was able to get me strong enough to get them to start my therapy back up and I was able to stand up on my own, transfer in and out of bed, and also transfer to the toilet, and car!!! Oh and the icing on the cake I left this morning telling them I would be back I was just going to go somewhere and be right back. They had the audacity to touch my stuff and throw it all in trash bags. I had somebody picking up my stuff around 11:00 p.m. before I ever told them I was not coming back. And they lost several items of clothing.

I absolutely love Terri at Healthy Expectations. She helped me get my life back!! When I arrived at…read moreTerri's office a year ago, I was so defeated and feeling terrible. I had been on a long two year road of several needed surgeries that had caused nerve damage to my pelvic area. I had a hypertonic pelvis due to the stress and all my pain. I ended up seeing a doctor in Chicago that recommended Terri who she felt was the best therapist in Fort Wayne. I had been to Steppin up for a few weeks when I was referred by my Dr here in town but they really didn't do much for me. The knowledge at Steppin Up just wasn't there. Steppin Up versus Healthy Expectations was night and day! On the first day I met Terri, I really couldn't do much of anything . Sitting and walking was hard to do. I just felt terrible and very depressed. Over time she taught me skills on how to release and stretch my hips and pelvic area. Calm my flared nerves that caused me so much pain. Terri taught me ways to breath to relax my tense muscles. I stayed dedicated to seeing Terri twice a week along with my Dr in Chicago. I did all the homework Terri gave me to do and listened to her calm words of advice. After seeing Terri for almost a year, I am almost pain free. I have started doing things I used to enjoy and slowly feel my life is returning back to normal. It's so important to have a good physical therapist that understands the process of healing, patience that is needed to fully heal and pushes you. Dealing with pelvic issues and nerve damage isn't fun or a topic you want to share with the world. I want to share how important it is to take action if you feel something is wrong. Terri is not only a pelvic therapist but deals with other issues in the body. I will be forever grateful to Terri! I absolutely would not be where I am today without her. I would highly recommend Healthy Expectations!!

I would give Kingston Care negative stars if it were an option, so don't let my one star fool you…read more My mom has been there a week and I have been there 12 hours a day caring for her because we all know there are never enough CNAs to care for all the patients. This morning my 90-year-old mom was let alone on the toilet at 7:30 a.m. half cleaned up, poop on everything and the CNA never returned. She got herself back to bed and had to walk through poop all over the floor. I arrived at 9 with her breakfast to find her a mess. No one answered the call light. I walked the halls asking for help. Finally I went to therapy and had to reschedule her OT and clean her up, get her dressed, and clean up the room myself. I requested an administrator meet with me to discuss my experience and I expected them to speak with me and help me. Instead they wouldn't let me speak and only wanted my mom to speak and she didn't know who they were or why they were there. She's hearing impaired and didn't know what they were saying. One didn't like that I was angry and wanted to speak, and was so patronizing and condescending. I was even more upset after the interaction with the staff I asked to help me. I was told my tone was unprofessionally and if I kept it I would be asked to leave and escorted out if I returned. My tone is much stronger now and I hope my mom is alive when I go back to get her out of that place. Please do not put anyone you love in this place.
