Truly 5 service! Scott and Lori are a power team. Sometimes you can't believe an impeccable record but they truly deserve every star. We were a victim of a fraudulent tax return filing due to a security breach at another CPA group and therefore been spending the last 3 years trying to fix it and paid fees on fees to both IRS and CPAs to represent us. Now I feel so very relieved that we found Scott and Associates who are honest and trustworthy and who have invested in a high tech secure portal to guard sensitive documents. Communication is thorough and prompt. Filing is quick and secure. Cost is more than fair, in fact excellent for the degree of expertise provided. My only fear is that he'll retire before I do!! Scott is very professional and approachable when I meet with him in person for my tax appointment. He answers any questions I have and any documents I bring. He is passionate about educating his clients and tries his best to get the most out of your tax appointment. His wife, Lori, is sweet & personable and is the first person to greet you at the door. She is also the last person to complete tax appointment by going over the final tax paperwork and collecting service payment. FACTS: (And you be the judge) *Whe I first spoke to Scott about doing my taxes Mar 29th, I asked: Being that I am coming to do my taxes late, do you think you can still do them on time for the April 15th due date? He said YES. Great! I thought *April 1st I sent all my info to his office, Scott replied letting me know they got it and with some questions, I answered them that same day *April 2nd "I" send some questions of my own *April 3d, I sent another email asking if they had called me (As I was on a road trip and I saw and 805 number while driving), I told them I am on the rd but I CAN talk, perhaps set up a call at this point.....NO word *April 8th, I sent another email saying: Where are we with my taxes please? :) , I get I came late to the party! and back of your work line but as we spoke, this could make it in time...still? *April 9th, I sent a TEXT message asking what's going on? so his office called me and said: We have you schedule to work on your taxes Friday April 12th, you will get a call to go over them then. NEVER got that call :( *April 13th: I sent a another text message saying: I was to get a call yesterday, It is Saturday April 13th, am I to review my taxes in ONE day? So I get a call from his office "asking me questions about my taxes" 2 days before they are supposed to be filed!?? I told them at this point it would be better to file for an extension. The lady said: Ok we will file your extension and you are free to go with another accountant if you like. I said: (As I did not felt I had to start the process of interviewing accountants and did not feel right to have them do the filing of the extension and then "use somebody else"), so I told her: I am not saying I want somebody else, I am saying I don't want to be rushed to do this wrong and still like to have Scott finish them up. *April 15th I received an email from Scott letting me know the extension was filed, I replied: Ok great and ty, let me know when we can go over my taxes over the phone, I am available after tomorrow any time. *It is April 29th and I NEVER hard back from Scott himself since April 1st. Now I of course did see all these great reviews, so I went with him, but I also see now 2 with one star that were not done properly and noted under "not recommended" and removed from Yelp. We first had write offs during the 2019 tax season. We made an appointment with Scott and we were very nervous hoping we had all the paperwork we needed. Scott was very kind and considerate and gave us a list of things to bring. Amazing service prior to even our first appointment. We've gone back every year since. He answers and explains our taxes in a manner we can understand. Which is what we want. He exceeds our expectations every year. One year when we had to pay, a couple thousand dollars, he was able to explain to us why and how to prevent it in the future. And the next year .... Everything he told us to do we did and it worked.
