He answered all of our questions, even shared some research studies about the procedure. Not 5 stars a because it's at least 45 minute wait after your appointment time for follow up. The annual follow up appointments with Dr. Zaffos are always brief & productive, but because of the wait, we'd be lucky to be out of there in 1.5 hours. The typical time we spent there is 2 hours, with 5-10minutes of the actual doctor visit.

It seems that that complaint usually requires additionally testing, although it didn't the day I was there. The doctor was hesitant to answer any questions for fear of getting off schedule, but he did want to talk about lasik and contact lenses. He finally told me that I will need surgery for some growths on both eyes.

I went to local ER (live 45 miles from Ft. Worth), and the dr. there got hold of Dr. Hajovsky who agreed to meet me at his office even though they were closed. Without any nurses, he spent 2 hours with procedures to stop further damage and help start to mend. Wednesday was the surgery, and a follow up the next day. To this day surgeons in his field of ophthalmology comment on his amazing work and cannot believe I had the surgery so long ago. They always assume that the surgery was done in the not so distant past because of Dr. Granek's advanced technique. He doesn't have the best bedside manner but who cares? The man is a genius who routinely operates on preemies. My friend who took me to my post-surgical appointments and I would joke that he is from another planet. :) Anyway, who remembers the Physician that operated on her 18 years ago? Exactly. I wanted to adjust apt. to get a later time. Wasn't happening. Person who answered phone said first-time patients always get early times. I asked what the reason for that was and she said, "that's the policy". I said, "that's not a reason". So, she promptly started to argue with me by saying that is a reason. After a few back-and-forth statements, I figured it out that I didn't want to do business with an outfit that treated unknown and NEW customers this way. So, I cancelled on the spot and have contacted my regular doc for another referral. Glaucoma Associates of Texas..."you're receptionist/scheduler sucks".
