His vehicles are always clean and he's always on time. John's service is top notch. I had to get out of Alabama on short notice once for a 5 AM flight. I called John last minute and he said "no problem, I'll be outside your hotel at 3:45". John is a nice guy and gives great advice on local restaurants, shopping and local attractions. John communicates often and monitors the flights coming into BHM airport. He knew about one of my flight delays before I did! Please consider calling John at BJs Transportation Services if you're in the Birmingham area and need a ride!

I had arranged a family member to pick her up. Due to an emergency, that fell through. The tournament was being held in a rough part of town, so blindly calling for an Uber or a cab was not an option. I opted to find a well reviewed company on Yelp and coordinate a safe pick up. I called Over the Mountain. Within fifteen minutes, I had a picture of the driver, and a group text with the company owner, the driver, and my daughter started. OTM picked her up right on time and got her to destination safely. Thank you Over The Mountain for helping out a parent in need. So as much as I have dogged YC (deservedly so IMO) in the past, I have to right this review. I…read morerecently moved back to Bham after being away for a couple of years and used YC for the first time this morning. Admittedly I only did so because it was my only option to airport at 4am. My experience was nothing short of superb. I booked in advance using app and apprehensive about whether taxi would show up and how I was going to have to scramble to make my flight. Boy was I wrong. The app alerted me when taxi was dispatched, and again when taxi arrived. Driver was 5 minutes early, extremely courteous and got me to the airport with ease. I was able to use a credit card (huge for business traveler that has to expense everything) without any groaning from the driver. Simply used the built in credit card swiper in the back and I was on my way! Extremely impressed about the vast improvement I saw with YC. [EDITED]: as soon as I heap praise on YC, back to old shenanigans. Pre ordered taxi for this morning to catch flight. Cab was "assigned" to me but didn't show up, no call and never made any progress towards my location according to YC's Uber-like tracker. Had to cancel and order Uber that was prompt like always so still made my flight despite taxi gaffe. Gave YC a chance again, was initially impressed but I'm done. Strictly Uber for me from now on.

Alina was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the trip. She even took photos for us, which made the experience feel even more special and memorable. She also truly saved the evening--after taking us to dinner, the restaurant turned out to be a bust, and we thought we'd have to head back to the hotel and figure something out. Without hesitation, she said, "I got you," and took us to Hattie B's Hot Chicken, which ended up being the perfect choice. Birmingham is a smaller city so this was the only MAJOR event going on that day. My boyfriend and I were so hot and decided to call it a night and call a cab. We asked to be picked up at Moe's BBQ, there is only one location in the downtown area and the operator had no clue where we were talking about. You should probably learn the area before becoming a dispatcher. So on the day of a MAJOR event in Birmingham I find it extremely unacceptable they had no cab to pick us up. Also, we left way before the event was even over so it's not like a ton of the attendees were looking for cabs simultaneously. As a result we walked two miles home risking our safety because of this incompetent company. If zero stars were an option, they deserve that.
