As new patients, my oldest was able to be seen the same day I called to see if they were accepting new patients. The atmosphere was so inviting to both parents and kids. The bright colors, play area, movie playing, coffee/tea bar, water bottles, and friendly staff made the experience well worth my 5 star rating. While my oldest was being seen, the youngest was able to continue to play. This helped me be able to focus on my oldest needs. This was important because we didn't have an understanding as to why some of his teeth were discolored. Well, we finally got answers! Answers we could understand and images/paperwork to take home with us. What made it better, as we were checking out a cancellation for the next day happened and they offered us that slot for my youngest. So we saw them again with the same great service and care. Now that they have had their initial appointments, from here on out they will be able to be seen on the same day at the same time. Just one more way to make Mommin' easier.

My kids have zero fight about going to the dentist. And they get all sorts of kid nonsense when they leave. Stickers, a little prize, sometimes a balloon. It's like going to the circus - and because of this, they associate the dentist with all good things. And they get to watch a kids movie on the ceiling while they get their cleaning! The staff are understanding of any weird quirks my kids might have and listen to me and talk to me like I'm part of my child's care team.

The young lady at the front checkin desk was very friendly, helpful and polite. Checkin was a breeze; I had some questions & brief changed to make and they were taken care of immediately. Spotless facility, games and iPads for children to play with, clean stocked restroom and the parents relaxation room is top notch; coffee, tea, soft music and massage chairs. Wonderful experience! Everything went great Dr. Dodds and her staff were all very comforting to a very anxious little boy. A few weeks, Aiden showed me a photo he had taken of Dr. Dodds while he had been in the operating room and he said "Best dentist EVER!" It really was a pleasant experience for both mom and son.

A couple of days later her gum started swelling and they wouldn't schedule another appointment to check it, they just proscribed her an antibiotic. 4 days after that she woke up with a fever and her lips and face was swollen. They refused to help, even after her primary doctor said the infection absolutely could not wait because it could be very dangerous. I asked for a stronger antibiotic and they said she would be perfectly fine. I asked what they could do because she was in horrible pain, and she responded with "the only thing I can do is sympathize with you". As a mother I would NEVER take my children back to someone who does not care about their safety and health. I'm very thankful for the new dentist that we found. DO NOT take your children here.

His office told me the cost would be $40, but then billed me for $120 more and would not budge on the cost despite numerous conversations. Then they billed my insurance $100 for the visit to fix the filling. We waited 20 minutes after the appointment time for the filling and had to listen to a young girl screaming the entire time in the room nextdoor. Some more soundproofing would be beneficial, as this is traumatic. Dr. Clark is a very communicative dentist, but he is always in a rush and spent only five minutes in the room doing the filling. There is no privacy in the main area where cleanings are done. Each of the four chairs in the open area has a blaring television on. The administrative staff displays poor decision making (scheduling three cleanings at the same time and deciding to put the 10-month-old baby last, when we did not show up last). I finally decided to leave his practice after talking numerous times with Dr. Clark's wife, who is the office manager, about a billing dispute. She told me if my insurance paid some amount in addition to what they had already paid, that she would reduce my bill, but when they did so she refused to reduce my bill. Their billing person, Alexis, is condescending and rude and unfortunately, the office manager was dishonest. I mentioned to a friend that I was changing dentists and she told me that she had gone to Dr. Clark and left for the same type of reasons. She drives 30 minutes now, to Lake Jeanette and loves them.

All four of us have been thrilled with the move. The transition was made easy. They facilitated the transfer of our dental records, and set appointments that worked with our challenging schedules (two high schoolers, and two full-time working parents). Appointment reminders are sent by text, and email. The staff is wonderful...Amy, Renee, Kim, to name a few. The office is also extremely clean, and has the modern equipment and technologies. It also has easy parking. During my first visit, I asked Dr. Nunn about mouthpieces to prevent snoring. We set up a follow-up appointment where she created molds of my teeth to customize a mouthpiece that gently moves my lower jaw forward to open my airway. Last night I had the first snore-free night I have had in decades! I can't say enough good things about this practice!!

So upset child, eye rolls and attitude galore from Dr. Clark. As Dr. Clark places the metal band around my child's tooth states "see this mom since we are doing a filling and not the crown this is causing extra pressure on his tooth and if we did the other I would be done by now" or "I'm only trying to advocate for the child" which is my job as a parent. It is his job to provide me with the best medical choices for the child and my job as the parent is to then choose what is best for my son from his options. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion after this encounter we took new xrays there. I was told by Dr. Clark my child had broken teeth under gumline... this was false and the 2nd dentist explained the x-ray and teeth are fine. The number of cavities had decreased by 4. And the number of crowns needed went from 12 to only needing 4. Truly makes me wonder about the filling we had done with him. Also by my research he used to work in facility in Winston-Salem but at his new location reviews aren't following him.

Everyone is very welcoming, and Dr. Hartzell's "bed side" manor is unbeatable, and he's never suggested unnecessary upsells like past dentists I've visited.
