    Happy pain free patient

I have suffered for years from pain in my lower back radiating down my legs. Yesterday, Dr. Kramer addressed this problem using a technique (under twilight anesthesia) . I am happy to report that this morning I woke without any pain for the first time in years. I would recommend Dr. Sten Kramer to anyone with chronic back problems or any type of orthopedic issues.

I don't normally do reviews, but after my second appt with Dr Kramer, I was so impressed with his positive attitude and approach to my care. 2.5 years ago I had a motorcycle accident that required L1-L3 fusion to stabilize my spine. After years of living in chronic pain every day, Dr Kramer was recommended by a close friend. Dr Kramer spent time walking me through my MRI and CT scan in detail and came up with a positive approach to treating my symptoms and help give me a better outlook on life. ***update: if I could give 10 stars I would. After working with Sten for almost 11 months and trying several procedures to isolate the root cause of my back pain...and battling with insurance for a "nerve ablation" procedure, I am happy to report that my pain is almost completely gone and i could not be more thankful for the work he and his staff have done. I see a lot of frustrated reviews about wait time and his staff. All I can say is that it's worth the wait, and his staff is amazing!!!***

Over the last 20 years of participating in extreme sports Kramer Orthopedics have treated me for numerous injuries with 100% positive results. Recently Dr. Sten treated me for carpal tunnel syndrome without requiring surgery. I would highly recommend them.

Dr. Rose received me with a warm smile, listened carefully to my concerns, examined and x-rayed my hand, identified the issue, and provided detailed options. The minor surgery went very well, and at all times I felt that Dr. Rose and his team cared, listened, and made me feel I was under excellent care. The team is professional and caring. The orthopedic center has all the expert resources and equipment necessary to expedite diagnosis and determine procedure. The entire team at this orthopedic center in Newport Beach provides comprehensive services - so that all-in- one feeling - is truly welcomed; avoiding having to run around town for each orthopedic issue. I shall return should I need further medical attention and definitely recommend Dr. Rose and his team of specialists.

Review for Dr. Rose's Office/front desk not Dr. Rose as I was unable to meet with him…read more I was a new patient with an 8:15 AM appointment. My daughter and I arrived at 8a.m, checked in and was asked to complete my online forms which I completed in 5 minutes. I let her know I was done and she said the other staff member would get me set up. We waited in the lobby for 50 minutes. During that time, every other patient who walked in after us was called back within five minutes. Eventually, I approached the front desk to ask when I'd be seen, only to be told they were waiting on me to complete the new patient forms. I had actually filled them out right when I arrived and notified the staff, but apparently, there was a lack of communication. Because of the delay, I had to leave without being seen--despite being in constant pain and having scheduled this appointment a month in advance. I also had my daughter's appointment scheduled right after mine, which we had to cancel as well. I requested my ID and insurance card back and left disappointed. Dr. Rose clearly has a very busy practice, but it's frustrating when poor administrative coordination prevents patients from receiving care--especially those who arrive on time and are in need. A suggestion for the front desk staff: If you're holding a patient's ID and insurance card, and they're expected to complete online forms, check in with them after a few minutes. A quick confirmation could avoid unnecessary delays like this one. It was very disheartening to watch every other patient be seen while I sat there unknowingly overlooked. I took time off work. Unfortunately, I'll need to find another orthopedic specialist. I had high hopes for this visit, but I left feeling dismissed and upset.

Attempted to make an appointment with a physician I had seen in the past and he was unavailable…read more Dr Michael Eng was referred to instead. As a medical professional of 28 years, I understand the difference in personality and opinions that doctors can have. Dr Eng was positively awful. He was cocky, arrogant and condescending. He made little eye contact, was defensive and his bedside manner was non existent. His unprofessionalism in critiquing his colleague was beyond off putting. He lacked compassion and the ability to listen and understand. I fully understand that doctors have different personalities, opinions and styles, but I am so unsettled by him. It was a waste of the copay. I am just shocked that Hoag would employ a person of this demeanor . This is a time where I wished AI would have scribed the visit. I would love for a colleague to review. He appears very inexperienced and green in medicine. It will take a lot to make him a successful physician. UPDATE( 2 weeks later)...no follow up from office manager when requested. I guess this is just standard practice there. Had second opinion at other major medical center and was told that upon review of my MRI, they were shocked at the lack of advice that was given to me by Michael Eng,MD.
