I have never written a review before, but I think this is warranted. I used them last year for Homecoming and was happy with my purchase. Not today. I walked in the store on Wednesday before Homecoming and ordered corsage and boutonniere. I told the lady white flowers with Royal Blue ribbon. I asked her what other flowers than roses are there. She just said there are a lot. So, being I am not an expert on flowers, I said then let's just stay with roses. I go to pick up today and I get daisies!!! I was shocked. Who puts daisies in a corsage? I said it was supposed to be roses. The lady said that was not what was written. I told her exactly how the conversation went and I told her I said roses. She already started to get short with me. She asked if I wanted her to add the small off-white roses to the daisies or remake. I said remake. I came back an hour later. The result was even more frustrating. Small off- white roses. She said that's all she had. I kept trying to speak with her to express what I was picturing in my head. NOW, while doing this, I was being respectful of her business. I let at least three other customers get their orders and waited to have the discussion so people were not waiting for me. I didn't have to do that but it's not their fault and they also have places to get to. Every time I tried to speak, she would interrupt, which made me more frustrated. I did keep my composure. At one point she said to me, "You are just complaining, not giving solutions." What???? I am not a florist. I don't know what solutions there are. I thought that was her job. I told her to add one more tiny rose to fill the boutonniere. She wanted to charge me. She eventually added the one rose. After it was done, I wanted to have a conversation, stating she never gave me a chance to complete my thought process to even come up with a solution.... and I couldn't even get that out without her interrupting. I was civil, almost whispering as to not cause a scene with the other customers. She was beyond rude. She kept saying that was how it was written, not owning the fact that they got the order wrong. That is not how customer service works. I was beyond respectful, allowing people to go ahead of me, keeping my voice down, trying to have a conversation. She was not. I feel bad for my son and his girlfriend with what they will have for each other today. Florists should be prepared for potential issues that arise. They were not. read more

First of all: Gorgeous flowers. Beautiful work, exactly what we wanted for my dad's funeral. Unfortunately, even with weeks and weeks of notice, plus calling three times the morning of, they did not get delivered in time. We spent over $1500 on these and they were clearly not a priority. We made it very clear that the church was only able to accept deliveries until noon on the day. We said, they must arrive before noon. The person taking the order assured us that they would be delivered before noon. We called at 10:00. Yes, we were told, they would get there at 11:30. Cutting it a little close, but okay. Then 11:30 came and went: no flowers. 11:45, we called again. The woman on the phone told my sister that the church was open until 4:30 because they called the church secretary and she told them so, so it was okay to deliver them later. We were standing right next to the church secretary and she said she'd received no such call. She graciously allowed us to stay and kept the church open for us, even though she had commitments. At noon my sister called again, they yelled at her for being rude, and said, this time, that the church's google hours had them listed as open until 4:30. My sister started crying and said, "Why are you being mean to me? It's my dad's funeral!" The truck rolled up at 12:05. My stepmother, mourning my dead dad, mind you, asked, "What happened?" The driver snapped back at her, "You weren't my only delivery this morning." It was an awful experience on top of an already sad and stressful time. We asked for a refund or a discount and they refused. If it doesn't matter when your flowers get there, get these guys. If you care about customer service and following instructions and not getting gaslit when you're mourning your dead parent, choose another option. read more

Pretty much the worst thing you could receive on Valentine's Day are flowers that are dead and broken... I'm not exactly sure how a florist would be so okay presenting these to someone... extremely disappointed and upsetting. I've called and no one answered. I just hope my husband receives a full refund. Update: they got back to us and gave him a refund. However, I know someone else personally (who lives further away from the shop) who also had flowers delivered with no issue. Condition of the flowers aside, when I removed them from the delivery wrapping multiple flowers weren't even in the vase... stems were cut abruptly in random places so even if they were delivered alive the arraignment would have still looked really bad. Not sure how my experience turned out so terribly. read more

Extremely disappointed in my corsage and boutonnière that I picked up today for my son's homecoming. The arrangement for both is super small and there is barely anything to it. For spending almost $60 on both it is not at all what it should be or I was lead to believe when I picked it up. I used their photos on their website to decide to order here and that was a mistake! Between those photos and what I was told when I ordered is not at all what I got. His friend ordered from there as well and got something completely different that looked much fuller and better then what we got. I won't be back to order from there in the future. read more

I ordered some flowers for my sister for her birthday, she just moved to the area from out of state and I wanted to celebrate her birthday from afar. Unfortunately she fell the day of delivery on the ice and broke her leg, she barely got in the house! So when the delivery came she couldn't even make it to the door and her husband wasn't home yet to help her. I promise the story gets better, the delivery person actually got ahold of my sister and said he would deliver them the next day when she had help opening the door. Very disappointed in my $75 floral arrangement. Called on a Sat at 11 am to see if a delivery was possible that day for a friend who canceled her own birthday travel plans because her Dad is sick. She herself just had cancer surgery and radiation. The florist only does one delivery time a day, which I missed. When I said Monday would work, the salesperson said they would make something extra special for my friend, given her unfortunate circumstances and the fact they couldn't deliver that day. That sounded great and I appreciated the enthusiasm. I asked her to use whatever flowers were the freshest and design what they liked based on that (that tactic has always worked for me in the past when ordering flowers from other shops). Imagine my disappointment and embarrassment when my friend sent me the photo. Ironically, she is the daughter of a florist, which I forgot. I found out how great this flower shop was years ago by accident. I went to a different florist in Prior Lake to have a consultation for flowers for my wedding. That florist sat me down with a book of pictures and walked away, not offering ANY help or advice with my wedding plans. I walked out of that flower shop and went right over to Stems and Vines to see if they provided better service. They did! They sat down WITH me, walked me through options that would be in season and which would suit my plans the best. They even put together a mock bouquet so that I could see what they were describing to me and approve the design. It was terrific, and my flowers were beautiful on my wedding day! Since then, I made the mistake (once) of ordering a bouquet from an online flower delivery service, thinking it would be easier/cheaper/faster. None of those things were true. The cost from the online flower retailer was the same, the flowers that I ordered were not actually the ones delivered, and the delivery didn't get there until about 8:00pm, well after the intended recipient of the flowers had gone home for the day. I was SO upset, and the online retailer customer service was terrible to work with regarding all of the issues. Don't make my mistake of using the online flower shops! Shop local instead! We went back to Stems and Vines when we needed flowers for my son's funeral, and they were very easy to work with. I was a total mess trying to get through the order process. They were patient and understanding about my grief, and the flowers delivered were beautiful and exactly what I had hoped for. They have made me a customer for life! read more

Love this little shop. I like to go in just to rest my eyes, but it's even better when I need something. The staff is so helpful and the supply is great. If they don't have what I want, and that actually happened once, they will get it within a few days and call me to let me know. I ordered purple tulips for my mom on the 12th of February to be delivered on Valentines day. They were delivered at 8:15 pm when she was getting ready for bed. They looked nothing like the picture on the website!! The flowers were very, very, very cold and hanging limp over the side of the vase instead of standing tall and pretty! The picture showed a big pretty bow tied around the vase and my moms arrangement arrived with just a single ribbon wrapped tight around the vase. Very disappointing and embarrassing!!! read more

I contacted Stems and Vines just a couple of months before my wedding, when the florist I'd hired stopped returns calls/emails. Stems and Vines were more than happy to help me and to take on my wedding on such short notice. They were incredibly helpful and helped me to feel like my wedding mattered. They were incredibly responsive and I was suprised at how affordable their quote was. Stems and Vines even went out of their way to do little things for me- like tie ribbon on my vases because they knew how busy I was in the final days before the wedding.
