Horrible service, quality and experience. Andrew and Cameron assured me they had years of experience and would know of any issues by the end of the first day. I hadn't moved into my home yet and waited for them to complete even after they used my home as storage for their materials the week before and told me they had a more important job to complete in Orange County. Day by day I came to check on the project and was told all was well. After being delayed another day I told both Cameron and Andrew I needed to move my stuff Friday and they told me it was ok. I texted Cameron Friday morning and he told me everything would be done by 3PM.  Once I arrived to my home I noticed the floors looked horrible.  Come to find out Cameron knew that morning there was an issue and he never told me. Tanner the driver who dropped their equipment off the Friday before who I was told was their delivery boy and was not anyone I should be advised about their work from was working on my floors. They made it seem like you couldn't ask their workers anything while they got text of the site and were to advise. Which doesn't make since if the people actually doing the job can't be trusted to answer correctly.  Every day a new person was on the job. The photos are what they referred to as 90% complete. I would never recommend this company. Cameron even threaten to put a lien on my house. They have horrible customer service, are very late and unprofessional. Look at the other reviews they are right! I can't say enough positive things about these guys. Used them on a job in Venice Beach. Let me tell you, this was no normal job. My floor was uneven by 1 1/2", and that was in spots throughout the whole sales area. Met with with one of their reps to get a game plan. This was a project that had zero room for mistakes. Once we had a plan, I realized I didn't have enough time in the schedule to make it happen. When I notified them of the timing issue, they assured me they could make it work. And man did they ever. An estimated 10 day job, they completed in 4 days, working day and night to complete. An army of workers were sent out, and everyone worked harder than any other subs I've had on site. From start to finish, Stellar Surface impressed me with their hard work, communication, and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure I was happy with the finish product. I would NOT recommend using this company. We hired them to stain our driveway after we remodeled the outside of the house. It looked really nice after done and the workers did a good job. However, just after 3 months the paint started peeling off and any stains from just shoe prints or any other daily use of the driveway would stay and not come off with anything. We contacted the guy who came to give us the estimate and was in charge of the job to come look at it to see if they could fix it. We called him, left messages and sent him emails. Never heard back from him. Do not waste your money here and use a different company. read more

The workers were great, but as for the owner Andrew he did not follow through on his promises. The stain on my driveway started to fade within just a few months. He had guaranteed at least seven years before that would happen. When I asked for him to come back and fix the problem he continued to tell me he could not find the color we used. At this point in time we have still not gotten our driveway repaired. He came up with a bunch of excuses as to why it was fading. None of which he discussed before they put down the material. Before giving your hard earned money to this company, carefully read my review. This company is a master at getting your business, and providing you with the worst customer services once they have been paid. Let me explain. I had been looking several months for a company to stain my back patio, in fact several companies had come to look at the patio, but strongly about hiring a company who specialized in staining. The owner of the company came to look over the patio. He appeared to have a great deal of knowledge on the procedure and has great pictures of million dollar house he had serviced. My patio has only 1 coat of concrete paint, and it had no sealer on or under the paint (please remember this statement). The owner emailed me an estimate listing the price for paint removal, fixing the cracks and applying 2 coats of the stain. The price was very much over my budget, but I wanted to make it work because I thought his professionalism would meet my #1 standard, that is, if I have any concerns when the job is completed, they would be present, making sure my concerns would be addressed within a reasonable amount of time. Well needless to say, I was sadly disappointed. My husband has a friend who is a contractor and specializes in sandblasting. We decided to try and cut the price by hiring him to remove the paint. By using him we could cut the price and afford the stain application. The owner didn't recommend or like the idea of us removing the paint, but he agreed only if he "approved" the removal before apply the stain. I agreed to his demand; I took pictures of the patio once the paint was removed and sent them to his email. However, I never hard back from him, which left me to assume the removal of the paint was accomplished with his approval. On the day of our appointment. an employee showed up to apply the product. My husband asked him if the paint had been removed properly, he said, "you did a great job," adding, how nicely the stain would cover the patio. He also stated he was a little hesitant because most customers do not do such a good job at removing the paint. He put down two coats of the product and told us to contact the company if we see any missed spots after the stain completely dried. Well, here is where the pendulum swings in another direction. There were some missed spots, so I called to see if someone could come out to take a look at the patio and possibly put down an additional coat. It never happen! The owner was in New Zealand for 2 weeks, when he returned I was told he needed time to catch up and he would give me a call within the week. It never happen! I called again, I was told the field manager would call us; now I'm thinking why didn't the "field manager" do that when the owner was out of the country, I called again, the person who answered the phone asked us to send pictures of the patio, we did, the return phone call never happen. When I called back, I was told the owner had the flu and would call when he returned to work. It never happen, until we communicated the magic words, "Small Claims Court." When the owner finally called me back, he first wanted to reprimand me and my husband for calling his staff and bring up the possibility of Small Claims Court. Keep in mind, as a dissatisfied customer that is my legal right, especially when a large amount of my hard earned money in the form of a check was cashed within 2 days after the job was completed. Believe me when I tell you, this is the worst customer service I have ever encounter in my 30 years of owning a house. While continuing his rant and refusing to let me get a word in, he explained how this was my fault that the product did not cover due to a sealer not properly being removed from the concrete ~ now remember we never applied a sealer under or on top of the paint. Also if that was so, I agreed to pay for the paint removal if he felt it was not completed to satisfaction. As well, please remember his employee's comments, "you did a good job with removing the paint." I called for another coat and they gave me the run around and all kinds of excuses as to why my request was not going to happen. He never came to look at the patio, he called 4 weeks after my initial call, and he felt I should pay for the extra coat ~ when I paid for a full bucket that was not completely empty but loaded onto his employee's truck after the job was completed. I could go on and on, but I think you see what kind of people you would be dealing with if you contract them for anything. As I think about it, maybe my calls were ignored due to my residence costing less than his million dollar customers ..... read more

DO NOT use this company! We hired them to redo our floors because we had areas that the color had been removed by tape. They appeared very responsive, scheduled for a bid easily, and started work quickly. BEWARE, we asked the person who bid the project to duplicate what we already had, he bid the project, the work started, and during the process we kept telling the project manager that the floors weren't as smooth as they were before, and that they weren't as shiny. She just said, we will apply more sealer and burnish again, still no improvement. Then they tell us it will be another $1000 to apply a higher gloss sealer and burnish again. Then the manager comes out and says no, you will have to repay at a higher price to get the finish we want, we told them then and during the process that we wanted our floor to be the same as they were before they started. Then the owner comes out, rebids the project, and wants to charge more than the whole project was bid at initially, to complete just half. Our garage is left with a sticky residue, because they didn't finish burnishing, and they refuse to take responsibility for bidding it incorrectly at the beginning, refuse to take responsibility for when we voiced our concerns half way through the process, and have left us with a complete mess, that will cost us over $10,000 to correct. Stay away from them, you will regret hiring them. WE WILL LIKELY END UP IN COURT OVER THIS! read more

This is a mixed review. Praise for the employees who did the work in a courteous, professional and hard-working manner and criticism for one of the owners, whose concept of customer service leaves a lot to be desired. An unexpected accident led to a broken window and the owners agreed to pay for a replacement - so far so good. One of the owners then attempted to recoup the cost of the window by falsely claiming that the activity described in the invoice had been exceeded and that I now needed to pay more than what was agreed to - a blatant and inappropriate attempt to maintain an already generous profit margin. As a consequence I cannot recommend Stellar Surfaces despite the hard working employees. read more
