Thankfully, I got a second opinion from Dave's Master Floor Care. Dave carefully inspected the entire floor and explained that refinishing was possible -- and he delivered outstanding results with good value. Dave is thorough and an excellent communicator. He explained the types of wear on my floors and outlined his refinishing strategy step by step. With little room for error on this type of flooring, I appreciated his clear approach -- there's no "undo" button with refinishing! Dave also has tools I've never seen before -- it felt like he had a gadget for every challenge that came up. Plus, he's been doing this for years, so he knows how different stains and woods react. He provided a consultation for my indoor floors, but then I had him also look at my garage floor and he said he was able to do the work I was looking for, which is what I will be reviewing here today. I had a few cracks in my garage floor and was looking to Epoxy it to protect it for the winter. Dave explained to me his process and how it differs from the competition which helps keep his cost low. The best part about Dave was that he stuck to the quote he gave me, with no surprises or additional ask for money, and he started when he said he would, got the job done quick, and finished when he said he would - anyone who has worked with contractors before knows this is a rarity! I love how it looks and how it flows seamlessly from the Living Room/Dining Room space to the Kitchen and even in to the small bathroom. I have been walking on the floors barefoot since they were installed. The installer did a good job on the thresholds. Both the kind that lead to an outside door and the difference in the color of the plank into the bathroom space. The Owner Tina was great to work with. Until you are looking for a destination, you may not realize how close or where it is. Working in St Paul we have easily driven past Seestedt's a few hundred times going to work or Saints games. Anyhow we are considering remodeling our bathroom and based on my Yelpsearch, Seestedt's had some very solid reviews. Being that they are local and family owned are other key factors that we support. I had already done some research on their website to see what they had in stock. When we arrived we were greeted by Garrett and Clare. Garrett showed us to the area where they had their vinyl plank flooring. Seestedt's has carpet, vinyl plank and wood flooring and more. Garrett was very helpful answering our questions and explaining the benefits and different types of flooring we were looking for. We also learned that Seestedt's is in a historical building as we were shown the cut room where they used to cut the carpet decades ago. We were able to get a better idea of the colors we would like as this trip was more of information and check out the styles before we make our purchase. Seested's is also in the process of moving to a new location off of 94 and I believe White Bear Ave. They should be in their new location sometime between the end of this year or early 2019. A couple of times, as it is often the case, the project required some extra costs due to the unforseen conditions of the door and the fan we purchased. Jose was very transparent in describing the reasons of the additional costs and updated our contract immediately both times. At each step we knew what we were paying for why. Based on our experience, this is not something to be taken for granted. The final job was absolutely high quality.
