Pit stop for breakfast on the way to Ruidoso. Interesting place. It was very silent when we got there. Music would help the vibe. We had to ask if they were open. We had the breakfast panini (scrambled eggs, cheese and spinach) on sourdough bread. Also croissants and bagels with cream cheese.
Stellar Coffee was an absolute must-stop for us--and not just for the alien nostalgia (though Roswell fully leans into it, and I love that). The second you walk in, you know this is the coffee spot in town. The music, lighting, people, and overall energy made it clear why it was packed. Aliens everywhere, local art and curiosities lining the walls, and that effortlessly cool, eclectic vibe where you don't know where to look first--but in the best way. The food and drink held up just as well. Coffee and teas were solid, with a local tea vendor on site doing samples and selling loose-leaf blends, which was such a great touch. I had a vegan hummus salad that was genuinely good, plus some food bites, while my husband loved his burrito. I also stumbled upon handmade origami earrings (cranes and roses!) that I was obsessed with, along with books, swag, and random treasures--at one point I picked up a Japanese art book I would've bought instantly if it had been for sale. And just when you think you've seen it all, the space keeps going: a wine lounge in the back, a roasting operation, more rooms to explore. Huge credit to the staff--only a handful of employees holding down a nonstop crowd, all with great energy. If you're passing through New Mexico, even if Roswell is slightly out of the way, Stellar Coffee is absolutely worth the stop. The hidden wine lounge with speakeasy vibes is named Interstellar - SO CUTE !!
Support local when you can. I love going to local coffee shops and cafes when in smaller towns. Found this place as I was driving down Main Street. Pulled over to get a coffee before long shift. Super cute and clean. Young girl at counter was very friendly and nice when I took a little extra time trying to figure out what I wanted. On the large board behind the counter was the special drinks and food for the month of February. I decided to get a chocolate cherry iced latte with white chocolate instead of milk or dark. I also got the white chocolate strawberry scone. The scone came warmed , it was so good I should have gotten 2 of them. My iced drink was good, even with swapping out of white chocolate it was tasty but a bit on the sweet side. They also have milk alternatives, I got oatmilk. I like that they use paper cups to help with the over use of plastic cups and not a lot of places to recycle them.
As soon as we walked in the employees just looked at us without greeting us until I said hello first, they seemed moody and ready to go home. The chairs were already on the tables and the place was dark, even though they still had an hour until closing, so it didn't feel welcoming or inviting at all. I decided not to order anything because of the atmosphere but my husband ordered a coffee and a meal, and they told him it had to be to go because they were closing soon (in one hour). The coffee was terrible, and the "meal" was basically a cold piece of bread with unmelted cheese.
Will edit after I have the food and drink but the service is poor. The area is cute, there's music, it looks quaint and could possibly pull way more in via the good reviews but would just be great if there was actual customer service. Makes things more enjoyable. You can hate your job but seriously??? If there was more of a sarcastic name and the vibe was to be controlled by aliens that would make sense. But for the prices... not so sure it's worth it. It looks really cute in person and in photos. Just disappointed. Staff is not helpful or happy. Maybe they don't get paid enough? I don't know. The drink I had was good the blueberry lemon muffin my daughter had was very dense.
Unfortunately I was really disappointed with this place. It was so cute on the inside and I was pretty excited as it smelled nice and the place was busy. But when I got my chai tea latte I just about choked on something's in my drink. Very hard brown things and on top of that my drink was not good tasting and had a very strange aftertaste. As if they didn't use real milk or something. Very sad. The smoothie was also quite hard to drink as it too had a strange taste to it.
Stopped here after walking the shops downtown. I was happy to see a coffee shop! The cappuccino was ok and my niece got an apple juice. She's a kid but she said "the foam scares me, but I give it 3 out of 5 stars. Also it's WARM". It was freshly juiced and I don't think she was expecting that. I tasted it and it wasn't bad. There was ice in it I think she was supposed to stir it and did not. The staff was really nice and they do have free wifi. Nice quiet place !
This coffee shop was very cute! It's conveniently located right down town with everything else. I tried the earl gray tea cookies and a Golden Milk special tea drink. Both were delicious. The cashier looked at me like I was an idiot when I ordered though because she must have been new and didn't realize there were specials posted on a board behind her.
A very good coffee spot with a fun, eclectic atmosphere that was not pretentious in any way. The clerks at the counter were polite, but they were staring at their phones and I had to greet them in order to get their attention. The coffee was very rich and hearty, but they didn't leave room for cream as I had asked them to. I ordered the green chili turkey panini and it was very flavorful and topped with very fresh veggies. I was a little disappointed that it was advertised as "oven roasted" turkey, but was actually just turkey lunch meat. Still, a very good sandwich that was well prepared and was served very quickly. I also had a great banana muffin that was even better because they heated it up! Great place to grab a nice breakfast/brunch if you are in Roswell.
It shouldn't take 10 minutes to make 3 drinks when you only 2 customers are waiting. The barista was mostly staring off into space during our visit (no pun intended) and didn't seem very happy to be serving customers. However, the drinks were okay!
Really nice coffee ship with a nice selection of coffee, tea, and other beverages plus a nice food menu. Check out the back of the shop for extra seating and a local art display. There are also lots of board games for your entertainment. The baristas were nice and singing and joking while they turned out delicious drinks. I got the special Black Bear iced latte and it was excellent. You could actually taste the coffee! My companion got caramel latte and it similarly was not overly sweet. Highly recommend stopping here when you're in Roswell!

We popped in on our way through Roswell from a recommendation from a stranger in Ruidoso. They were right! I got the iced vanilla chai and it was rich and creamy. We indulged with one of their fresh cinnamon rolls to. Yum! Service was excellent. read more

We stopped in to get a quick bite to eat and a couple coffees. I had a dark chocolate mocha while my partner had a white chocolate mocha. We both really wanted to like the white mocha but it just wasn't to our preference. The dark chocolate was delicious, though! I would definitely get it again. For food we had a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel and also on a croissant. Both were very tasty. The staff was also super sweet to our two pups! I loved that the inside was dog friendly! read more

Okay, I come from the land of coffee shops (that is, Rhode Island, the east coast equivalent of Portland, OR), and I was not expecting greatness. In fact, I was imagining Stellar to be like Out of this World, which was the only other coffee shop besides Starbucks and the Hastings coffee shop (RIP bookstore coffee shop) to exist for many years in our downtown area. Unfortunately, I didn't think Out of this World was out of this world, so when I walked into Stellar I was not expecting a packed house. I was not expecting tables and couches and artwork on the walls and baked goods in the display case, nor an array of fancy coffees, or a special "chocolate raspberry tea" latte. I was pleasantly surprised by all! I didn't realize my tea would be a latte, so I'm not sure what they have in terms of milk substitutions (I didn't ask), but I'm hoping/guessing they have options. I loved the chocolate raspberry tea. While we were there, a man was at a nearby table working on some art, which I thought was nice. There were people on laptops and a lot of people socializing. I would definitely go there to do some writing if I still lived in roswell! (They even have some outdoor seating.) I will be back! read more

Coffee was delicious, bagels fresh, baristas friendly and they had a water bowl out for our pup and even made him a pupaccino! Their list of special drinks was very fun too. They have sitting inside and a nice patio with ceiling fans out front. read more

We love finding good coffee stops on any trip and Stellar Coffee didn't disappoint! About a block from the UFO museum and plenty of souvenir shops around. We got two iced vanilla lattes and a blueberry scone. There was a little bit of a wait, but that didn't bother us. It seems like a very popular place and we will definitely return if we're ever back in the area. read more

We are on a road trip from LA to Austin and stopped off in Roswell for the night. In the morning we wandered in for a late breakfast before hitting the road on our final leg of the trip and we are so glad we did. The staff was super friendly and they allow dogs INSIDE -- not easy to find and so greatly appreciated in the colder Winter months! The vanilla chai latte was so smooth and creamy and the breakfast burrito hit the spot! Definitely give this local spot a try! read more

Super friendly barista. Great tasting coffee. Dog friendly! Since we travel with our dog EVERYWHERE - this was great. They look like they are doing some construction so I was a little bummed to see the tools and such from out. But mostly it was cute, friendly, and again GOOD COFFEE. Also had their breakfast. Yummy stuff read more

So delicious! Exactly what we needed after walking around Roswell all day. We got an iced latte with vanilla bean and coconut half sweet as recommended by the cashier. The shop is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. Super adorable and the treats looked fabulous! Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area! read more

I'm sure many others have said something similar, but I have to say it anyway, "Stellar Coffee is simply STELLAR." We travel quite a bit and are always in the mood for some good morning coffee or espresso. The majority of places are either so-so or a big disappointment, but not Stellar. My first impression, as I walked through the door, was that this place was clean and comfortable, like a great place to settle in for a cup of coffee. The woman at the register was friendly, helpful, and patient while explaining the food ordering method. The other woman working was equally lovely. I felt like they were genuinely happy to see us. There are breakfast and lunch items on the menu. I don't know if there is a different menu for the evening, but what I saw on the menu would work just fine for dinner, too. You can order one of their preset menu items or totally customize a meal. My husband had a breakfast sandwich and enjoyed it. I customized a breakfast sandwich by switching out the bun for greens. It was freshly made and delicious! The next time we go through Roswell, we'll be stopping at Stellar! read more

Great coffee steps away from the Alien Zone and International UFO museum. A very comfortable interior with not just one but two full size sofas and plenty of seating. The atmosphere is quiet and the baristas are very friendly and welcoming. The coffee has good flavor but is a bit weak for my tastes...easily solved with an additional shot of espresso. We had the FLAT WHITE and the AMERICANO, which were both good. There are multiple beautiful art pieces hanging on the wall you can buy, and if you wander past the bathrooms there is a store on the right that sells incense, bags, and more. Lots of people seem to come here, camp out and do some work or just enjoy being here. This is a great place for either. read more

This shop is spacious, allows indoor seating and has wifi so you can sit down and read or do work while you have your coffee! My partner and I stopped in for a coffee and breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the tasty drinks (I got a flat white, he got a cappuccino) and the food selection (I got a veggie scramble, he got the breakfast burrito). This is a reasonably priced coffee shop with really great tasting espresso. The drinks were around $4, the food was around $5 per item. read more
Stopped by here while in a venture for work. Perfectly located super close to where i needed to be it made the cut after a quick browse of my handy dandy yelp app. I can have coffee all day, and after spending the morning driving down from albuquerque, another coffee, cold, sounded wonderful. The digs are chill, definitely encompass the coffee shop vibe. Truth be told, I saw these egg cups on their page on the app and wanted those! They were no where to be found on their menu! Sadness swept over me. I quickly thought of the espresso i would be sipping and it subsided. I settled with a breakfast croissant sandwich with bacon. I ordered it to go so i could get back to work. My caffeinated drink came out just right, and the sandwich hit the spot. Service was friendly, not the somewhat typical pretentious barista that you sometimes come across. The next time I'm back in Roswell I'll come by and ask about those egg cups! Perhaps they'll make them for me? read more

Cute coffee shop with a awesome menu. We got the Santa and caramel brulee iced lattes. Didn't care much for the caramel brûlée latte, but the special Santa one was amazing. They also do offer dairy alternatives. No gluten free goods unfortunately. read more
