Not only are they ripping people off with many of their products that are marked up as much as 5x-8x (many are not), the owner and his and the other employee are more aggressive than used car salesmen. That's not hyperbole. Twice have I looked at something giving no indication I'd buy, and they're already ringing me up. Out of their many shameful practices, they flat out lie about things for no reason. It must be pathological. For example, they've told me if I don't buy certain products that they carry from an "authorized dealer" the warranty is void. Perhaps with some things, but not the items they were claiming. If they don't have a competing product, they'll lie and say they don't carry it because they're not good products, even dangerous, claiming exploding batteries on particular vaporizers they may not carry. Not true with the products I inquired about. New York is also a CBD state. Sure it's very overpriced (less than half price across the river for CBD) but when talking to an employee about the laws he lied to me (for no reason) claiming that CBD is nor federally classified as Schedule I, and neve has been. Complete lie. While it has no business being Schedule I, I don't appreciate being lied to especially for no reason. Myself and several of my friends will browse in there, and would like to support a local business, but not a willfully dishonest business. Go two doors down or go to Newburgh or better yet, shop online if you want to pay MSRP, and not MSRP plus their rent.

I browsed a display shelf of large bongs while waiting for the gentleman behind the counter to finish with a couple at the register. Beside the row of bongs was a T-Shirt that intrigued me. It featured in bold face letters: DEFEND NEW PALTZ and a picture of what I believed to be an automatic assault weapon under it. What message was I missing? The shirt made no sense to me. The counter man was ready for me. I pointed out the bong of my choosing. He carried it over to register. As I was reaching in to get my credit card, I casually asked him the meaning of the shirt. "I made that shirt" he announced with pride. I chuckled and said that I lucked out because he was the right guy to answer my question. What does the shirt mean? He mumbled something from under his mask that I couldn't make out. My ears have 72 years of hard rockin mileage on em, but I had a bad feeling about this guy and not wanting to patronize an establishment that sold merchandise promoting citizen militia or individual use of such weaponry. AND IN HIPPY DIPPY LOVE AND PEACE NEW PALTZ OF ALL PLACES. returned my credit card to my wallet and informed the gentleman that I had changed my mind and walked without further comment to the door. I do not recall the exact chain of events that unfolded over the next 20 -30 seconds. But I remember his summoning me back into the store and questioning me about why I chose not to do business in his establishment. In short order, things got heated. He threatened to "knock me unconscious" so we stepped outside where we exchanged parting expletives right there on Main Street. When I got back to the car, my wife who had been waiting patiently asked why I was so flustered. I told her what I just told you. Stopped at the next gas station and picked up $5 pipe, took it to Miniwaska and forgot as best I could about my LikWid experience. But mine is a troubled peace.
