I decided enough was enough and I would try the closest salon to me; the cat's meow. I have been regularly getting my hair cut here for around two years by Nicole. She's bleached, and dyed my hair vibrant colours. She made cuts appropriate for the length and my thick, wavy, huge amount of hair. (Including maintaining my pixie!) I have also had my nails done by Katie and Ashleigh. Both were done well and left me feeling like a million bucks! I can't gush about and recommend this salon enough. I am very sad to leave when I move out of Ottawa at the end of this summer.

I'm generally having hard times to trust people on this, since a lady has ruined my eyebrows once and it took a year to fix them.. So anways.. eyebrows are important and it changes your look. It was easy to make an appointment for the same day or next day. Paige did my Shellac gel manicure and it lasted about three weeks, until I had it removed. The gel looked so good at 2.5 weeks and that's never happened to me because they always chip or start to crack and peel within one week. I told her I wanted a neutral colour so we took a few nail polishes and tested them out first. She is patient, knows what she's doing, and her work speaks for itself. She also did eyebrow waxing and the shape is perfect and it was quick. I usually get threading because I find I get great results in the shape but I don't like the threading feeling. I'm getting a pedicure now. I'm sitting on an Adirondack chair, looking out the window, the salon smells lovely, it's quiet, there's relaxing music on, staff is friendly and the service is good! I will always come to this salon when I'm visiting Ottawa!!

It took an hour here because the staff member (Mary I believe) was so unskilled and poorly trained. She scraped the old shellac with so much force it was painful and she also ripped off half a nail, which is now damaged and sore. She also cut two of my cuticles, one of which is still very painful and red. Her shellac application was pretty messy and she filed my nails at odd angles. I regret leaving a tip because I feel like I rewarded her. I would avoid this place, or at least make sure you don't book with Mary.
