There is an entrance to the lift which takes you to the lobby direct from the parking level, seems to be a pretty standard thing with most new hotel I have experienced in Germany. The hotel is easy on the eye but be warned at the time of writing this there was a lot of building works in the area so views maybe restricted! My room was nice and tidy with all the amenities you expect in a modern hotel. The wet room shower was clean and everything worked as you would expect. I guess in the summer my room suffers from a lot of sun light as it came equipped with an electric external blind! The bed was comfy although I never understand the two duvet thing!! The restaurant/bar is not the biggest but is nicely laid out with casual seating areas along with more formal dining areas. They have a wide range of cocktails and an extensive menu. The meals were a good portion size and definitely hit the spot. As you would expect the staff were all multi lingual, friendly and helpful. I'm told it's location is ideal to walk into the old town, I didn't have time to see if this was true but if it is that's another plus point.

The hotel does not have an elevator, but they will help with luggage if you wish. Our room was on the 3rd floor, but my husband and I did not mind the walk up with our carry-on bags. We were pleasantly surprised with our room. It was quite large, with lovely views from the windows, updated bathroom, and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever had. Even though it was January, my husband and I still enjoyed walking the grounds, enjoying the vineyards, courtyard, gardens, pond, and statuary. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast buffet was definitely plentiful, with a wide variety of both hot and cold offerings. We only stayed one night here due to other obligations, but I wish that we could have stayed longer. If we have opportunity to travel to Germany again, we hope we can stay at Schloss Edesheim once again!

The rooms are a great size and the free breakfast is wonderful. The dining area is very quiet and pleasant. Great memories at this place. I would recommend this B&B type hotel to all of my friends and family and when I go back to Heidelberg this place will be my local accommodations spot. I highly recommend it! Free wifi too :)

The Belvedere restaurant on the premises is quite elegant, I had dinner there twice. The neighborhood is home to many of the wealthy and upscale residents of Bruschal. This hotel has a modest front, but spacious interior. I was put in the "historical wing" of the hotel, with limited access by lift, but no worry, there are young staff with strong arms to help me with my suitcase :-). Soon after checking in, I received a visit from their guest relations manager, who brought a large bottle of mineral water, a small box of chocolates and a coupon for drinks at their bar. She also booked the airport shuttle for me - well, basically one can trouble her for any needs. The room itself, I believe, is newly renovated, with crispy clean bedding, soft, fluffy and shining white towels (very important for yours truly). If you don't mind walking, exit the hotel, turn right, and you can easily walk to the old town, to either climb up to the castle (by cable car) or wander across the old bridge to tread the "Philosopher's Walk". And you'd basically pass by dozens of restaurants, cafes, bakeries, creameries ... one won't ever go hungry! I booked my room with breakfast. It's a decent sized buffet, with every possible option for a Western breakfast - cold cuts, hot dishes, soft boiled eggs (one should eat it out of the cute egg cup provided nearby), salads, muesli, fruits, desserts, and lots and lots of breads, with packets of butter and individually jarred condiments (peanut butter, jam, honey, etc). There is a wide range of leafy tea selection, as well as juices and other drinks. One can also order a-la-carte omelets, French toast and Shakshouka etc., at no extra charge. I've been to many 5-star hotels, and this one truly deserves its star rating!

The location is right across from the Seergarten bus stop and a shopping center with some restaurants and a 24hour grocery store which is convenient. It's rather hot here in summer, so we cranked our air conditioning up. One room's AC didn't work as well, and staff promptly added a room fan as soon as we told concierge. We signed up for free online before booking to be an IHG Rewards member, and this got us two rooms on the Rewards member floor and a 10% discount at hotel restaurants. Housekeeping also does a pretty good job. I don't believe they change bedsheets daily, they make the bed and do change the towels. The rooms have nice little touches like a pillow spray and ear plugs to help you sleep, a pillow "menu" if you want different firmness levels or extra pillows, several international outlets by the room desk, lots of international news channels in different languages, bath robes you can use at the pool, and complimentary small chocolates and two small bottles of still water that are replenished each day. There is also a small fridge and hot water kettle (tea, instant coffee, hot chocolate, small biscuits). The indoor pool is nice to use as well. It's not very deep at all, roughly 4.5 feet deep the entire length. They have locker rooms where you can shower or change. Pool towels are free and you can get cocktails for 4,5€ at the small bar section. Use of the sauna/steam room is extra. This is also the area where you can get a massage (though the room looked small). Pool area could use some touch ups (new cloth for the cushioned seating for example). The rooms and general hotel looks a little dated, but service and cleanliness is generally good.
