Almost all the furniture in our home is from Steinhafels. We have been shopping and buying for over 10 years. Even on the occasion when we weren't entirely satisfied with the product they have always been exceptional at making us satisfied with updates or a different product. Salespeople are attentive without being pushy, delivery and installation are always top notch. Highly recommended. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! Bought a 4000.00 couch last year. We explained to the sales lady that we had a dog and needed pet coverage. She sold us the warranty with full coverage. Any damage for any reason is covered. Called to use the warranty due to a damaged cushion. Was told to call the warranty company, Serveco, they would cover it. Was told on the phone by Steinhafels to make sure we tell Serveco it was a single incident with a dog, not accumulation over weeks. We told Steinhafels we had a full warranty, they again said don't tell Serveco it was over weeks but one incident. Called Serveco. They asked for photos. We sent photos. They responded with that they weren't covering the damage because it's accumulation of pet damage not a single incident. I repeatedly asked for a manager to call me to discuss. Weeks later worth of asking the manager called and said we were not covered for pet damage and they wouldn't do anything. Now all of a sudden we aren't covered but we were before? So we call steinhafels and explain to them. We're now told that the salesperson sold us the wrong warranty and no one was covering our damage. It's up to us to pay for it. Complete garbage. They sold us a useless warranty and will not honor it even though their salesperson screwed up. This couple hundred dollar fix is going to cost them thousands in furniture we were going to spend there next month. Well go to Ashley's instead. I would also agree with some of these reviews this place is awful I have had my couches for 10 months and my photos look the same as some of the photos here. I paid $9,000 for these and I also bought the warranty I called had someone come out and they told me this was due to wear we hardly use these couches and I will post the photos so you can see how good of shape everything is I think all they want to do is sell you the item and then not take account when something goes wrong. From our salesperson- who made inappropriate comments about women's hormones- to the lies to get us to buy- to the wrong amount being charged ( $200 over the receipt) to the NO response when I emailed customer service and Andrew Steinhafel, the current CEO- this remains unresolved. Do not buy anything from this store. I bought a sectional sofa in February of 2025. 2 out of the 3 motorized chairs broke in October of 2025. The service technician came out on November 7th, 2025 and said that the motor and switch went out on one and the switch broke on the other one. We only used the center chair 2-3 times before it broke.the technician ordered the parts and I was told that it takes between 8-12 weeks just to get the replacement parts and then a new repair visit will need to be scheduled. It's going on 12 weeks and I still don't have a working couch. read more

Absolutely horrible experience with this company. We purchased several pieces for our home, including a leather sofa, which ran around $1800. We have a cat and a dog so we purchased the VIP pet insurance on the sofa. We also ordered an expensive Danish-type leather chair with an ottoman and after 2 years, nearly all the leather finish has come off and it looks like hell. Of course, they don't care as we didn't buy the warranty for that one. However, the sofa is another story--we paid extra for the VIP pet plus protection warranty and when I first turned in some scratches our cat made, they told me the scratches were not deep enough and to contact them when they were. We had more scratches, I contacted them for that, and because the entire sofa began sagging into the floor it became painful to sit on. It took about two months to get anyone to look at it and when a tech finally came out, he said the sofa needed to be replaced. He was supposed to contact us in 2 to 3 days--never got back to us. Meanwhile, I contacted Steinhafels and they were supposed to contact the company, they did, but nothing happened. I had to file a complaint with the BBB to finally get someone to tell us that they were ordering new foam cores for the sofa, but nothing about the scratches. Finally, after contacting Steinhafels and VIP warranty company at least a dozen times, we were told they won't fix the scratches or replace the sofa because the scratches occurred over more than one day! We have a number of pieces we plan to purchase for our home, but you can bet Steinhafels with their rip-off warranty will not be on our list of furniture stores. Today they are sending someone to replace the cushions, which are attached to the sofa and replacing only the seat covers--meanwhile the rest of the sofa is scratched. Every single piece of furniture we have purchased from Steinhafels in the past 3 years has been horrible. Well Serve Pro WAS supposed to come today. I canceled all our plans as they refused to give me a time so i had to leave the whole day open and then they did not bother to come. We have been waiting over 6 months and they canceled today and rescheduled. This is UNACCEPTABLE TREATMENT My husband called back the store owner several times, left a message, no return call ***12/21/24 update. After speaking with Bill Schulz, the customer service manager we can confidently say to never buy another item from Steinhafels. He admitted that the salespeople can lie to you, tell you anything to sell the product and the warranty, all the while knowing that they will not stand behind their products. We were repeatedly lied to by Steinhafels and by VIP insurance. I have never witnessed a business run so poorly as this one. No communication, poor service. Five employees sitting at the front desk stare at us as we walk in, and I can only assume that no one wanted to help us because we are young. A nice woman named Toni helped us pick out our sofa and after going through the whole process, let us know that we could pick up the furniture at certain times. My husband comes on a Wednesday after work and tried to pick up the first item. The power went out and the door won't open, so he asks if they could just open the doors with the chains - they tell him "it doesn't have any". If that's the actual case, that's a safety issue, first of all. So my husband makes his way back home and they call him 30 minutes later to say he can pick up the items. We make a second trip back out to which we can only pick up one item at a time because they can't stack things, but "you can do it if you want". We say we'll be back for the second item. We drop everything off at home and head back to the store. I know they close at 7 so I CALL THE STORE to let them know, and they say they'll let the warehouse team know we'll be a few minutes late. Fast forward to 7:02, my husband and I are knocking on the door to the warehouse and everyone has left for the evening. That's fine, but if I had known, I wouldn't have made my THIRD TRIP out to this place. Everybody is nice and pleasant until they have your money. Do not recommend. read more

Knowledgeable, personable, relatable, helpful and most importantly, genuine. He really understood the assignment as they say. I had a few requirements on what I was looking for and he hit them out of the park! I walked in to browse and walked out with a delivery order and it truly was because Ben was THAT awesome! Really enjoy shopping at the Steinhafels stores. I think their salespeople are friendly and knowledgeable. They have a large selection of quality pieces in all price ranges. I also noticed that this location occasionally has clearance pieces in the back in case you're looking for a couple odds & ends. I have only shopped here during Covid times as we recently moved to the area, but I can imagine that before Covid, their customer appreciation amenities were great. I see a big refreshment area that I can only assume was once stocked with snacks and sodas for the weary furniture shopper. I would have loved that and I hope it comes back post-Covid. I purchased a couch and love seat (special order Lazy Boy) from the Kenosha Steinhafels. The love seat came, but was ordered incorrectly by the rep. They were kind enough to try to fix it and ordered a new love seat. The new love seat came on Sunday, but the delivery people broke it even before it came off the truck. We refused delivery and they took the original piece back. So no love seat. Needless to say, we asked to have a manager call us. One called us from the store on Sunday, but he told us there isn't anything he can do as it is the warehouse people who make the big decisions. We asked him if another manager who could help us could give us a call. He said he would request a manager to give us a call. Monday- no call and nobody reached out from Steinhafels. We called them and we got the same story. Because it is a special order item, they will repair it, but they will not order a new piece, even though they broke it. We, again, asked for a manager to call us. Tuesday- no call. I spoke to different customer service reps, and we could not get the same story as to why we have not received a call. The only story we got was that they have a process and they will repair the piece, which they broke. Even the sales rep has not given a call back. So, we are out a piece and out the money. We called the cc company to file a dispute. The bottom line is they DO NOT have customer service and they do not care. It is a shame that customer service has deteriorated. I can't give negative stars as they deserve, so one will have to suffice. Place an order for a couch and we are told it is in stock and we can pick it up on the 6th. The 6th rolls around and the website has changed to a month later. Called to inquire what happened and what we are supposed to do without a couch for a month and I was given two different answers from two different people in less than 30 minutes. One person states that the couch was in stock and that it must have been damaged out so they had to restock it and the manufacturer is the reason for the slow down. When asked if there was a chance at a partial refund or credit towards something new for the inconvenience we were told no. We called back to inquire if we could at least have free or at least discounted delivery since this whole thing was planned when we would have a truck and help with moving it and we were told that the couch has never been in stock (that means two people at the store lied previously or this person was lying). So now we have the option of either canceling the order or waiting until whenever the manufacturer gets the items we were promised ready. $3,000 and we can't even get a promised date or any friendly helpful assistance from this store. Does anybody know what the next steps are? I have been dealing with an issue with my recliner. Since April 2025 , I have yet to have it fixed, they ordered the part. So they said, then they tell me it takes approximately 12 to 13 weeks to get here. Then they'll send someone out. Jake called me yesterday at 4:25 PM. I don't know why he called me because I didn't get anywhere with him. He promised to call me back the following day. Well, today is the day it is 4:23 PM. And I haven't heard anything from steinhafels, I called spoke to Russ. He said that Jake was unavailable right now and that he would give him the message. I've been trying to get a message to somebody ever since April . I also purchased a warranty with my furniture. When I spoke with jake yesterday, I told him of my frustration. I have spoken to so many people. I've started to write things down. And who I spoke with and when. It doesn't seem that anybody cares that steinhafels, what you're going through? She wanted to try Steinhafels (against my recommendation), and we met Mary and inquired about sales prices and online sales. Smug as the day is long, my friend left the store appalled at the entire experience. I purchased a Leather reclining sofa, loveseat, and recliner with a warranty about 1 year ago. I have had nothing but problems 3 months after I received it. It is brown in color and every seat on all the items started coming off I reached out to Steinhafels 3 months after this happened and went round and round until they sent someone out and was told they don't cover that problem. I wish I could give this place a 0 star review. I purchased my brand new (NOT clearance or floor model) power sofa less than two years ago and i already need to replace it. The cushions are so flat it's like sitting on a bench. I also noticed within 7 months of being in my home that the fabric was already showing a lot of wear, and there was a lot of pilling and thinning. It was still a new piece so I hoped Steinhafels would be willing to help, however I was sorely mistaken. When I reached out to inquire what could be done, their customer service team said that this was obviously damage done by me or a pet, and that it wasn't covered under warranty. I can guarantee that nothing was done on the sofa other than sitting. I did not have a pet either and I live alone. Only until I got fussy and acted like a Karen was I able to get Steinhafels to budge. They said they would replace the casings and cushioning at their "courtesy". Service tech did a great job at making it look new, that I will say. However, the pilling fabric, thinning upholstery, and poor cushion support quickly reappeared in the replacement parts. I reached out again letting them know how disappointed I was, however I was met with a nasty response of "we did this out of courtesy so you'll have to pay for the next set of replacement parts." How inconsiderate and just flat out ridiculous. I'm not paying for any parts, let alone ones I already knew were going to be garbage in a matter of months. I'm in fact never spending another dime at this sorry excuse for a furniture retailer ever again. I would trust a Bob's or IKEA sofa over another Steinhafels sofa, and that's saying a lot. What makes it even worse is how their customer service would not accept any responsibility for this poor quality, defective item that was sold to me. Just Letting Anyone Know Who Is Thinking About Purchasing Any Furniture From Steinhafels To Beware. In Our Experience Their Product Is Garbage And They Refuse To Stand Behind What They Sell. We Purchased A Sofa Recliner A Few Years Ago Along With The Protection Plan. January 13, 2023 One Of The Seats Decided It Wouldn't Go Back Into The "Stationery Position" After Reclining. They Finally Came Out And Let Us Know They Would Be Repairing The Item (Lucky Us). The Parts Came In May And Finally June 17, 2023 5 Months After Original Claim Was Filed It Was Repaired We Went In To The Store On More Then One Occasion And Spoke To The Manager Drew Schroeder (Who No Longer Is The Manager) He Was Very Little Help (His Replacement Karen Stanley Was Not Much Better) He Told Us They No Longer Use Guardsman As Their Third Party To Fix Or Repair Their Merchandise. I would give zero stars if I could. My husband and I came here to look at the Avocado mattress which I had already done my research on, he just wanted to see it in person. The sales person convinced us to just purchase from there, that we would get it right away. We also decided to purchase 2 sets of the Avocado pillows which added up to be another 500 dollars. What I didn't know was that he ordered us queen size pillows when we had ordered a king size mattress and failed to tell us that. When delivered, I realized they were wrong size and called same day. We were then told by the sales person that queen size was all they had and we were stuck with them. Who sells someone queen size pillows for a king size mattress?? The furniture we purchased is Daniels Amish and the quality is superb. Order came in about a week sooner than expected, which was a wonderful surprise. Delivery staff was friendly and thorough. Terrible place would not send a dog there. First time shopper, purchased a couch for $3500. Within 60 days couch is on sale for $1200 less. Told by store staff that we were beyond 30 days of purchase and they would do nothing per their "policy". Tried the GM for the Kenosha store and got same run around by Crystal Erickson who would escalate and have a higher up manager call me back for a credit. No one called... so sent emails and multiple calls to customer support who said no exception to policy and would not escalat. So advise: BUYER BEWARE!!! We purchased a patio table set from them a few years ago. It has about 6 tiles on the top and several got broke this last Fall. I contacted steinhafels and they said, not their issue, that I need to find the mfg and deal with them. Well, that patio mfg is out-of-business so my expensive patio set is now useless. Point is that Steinhafels doesn't stand behind the products they sell or. apparently, don't allows use strong reputable companies. Based on this why not buy on the internet as you will probably get better service, much less cost (there mark-up is crazy) and not need to deal with salespeople (commissioned sales people that focus in on getting $$$) and poor management read more

On 4/6 I purchased a coffee table & 2 end tables. Keith helped me who was very pleasant to deal with during the purchase & selection on the items I purchased. Upon checking out I was going to pick up the items but for some reason on Wed. the pick up location wasn't open or there are no pick ups that day. We then shifted to a delivery option. keith did say the items are shipped in boxes but did not explain to me there would be some assembly required. He did say there is a free delivery option at curbside where they will place the items at your door or inside your garage but at no time was what I am now finding out which is referred to your premier delivery service ever explained to me. At no time was it offered to me for me to decide if I wanted it or to decline the option. Not knowing my full delivery options I had the item just dropped off. Upon delivery the driver said to me you have 2 days to exam your items & if you have a issue just notify the store. Once the items were delivered I then discovered I had some assembly to do which I didn't mind doing. It did take me 4 hours to assemble everything. Upon assembling the items & cleaning them with furniture polish I discovered the coffee table is cracked on one side & has scratches in several places. One of the end tables is damaged in the corner. So I made it into your store yesterday around dinner time & spoke to Keith about what had happened with the items I purchased. He then spoke to Bob who is not customer friendly at all nor did he offer any solution to my concern. He never once apologized for any inconvenience I experienced. Once Keith spoke to him he turned in the chair he was sitting in, leaned back in the chair, & said you got the service you asked for. I explained to him at no times were any options for delivery ever fully explained to me. He said it again with no compassion to what I wanted or was asking for. I was asking for the replacement items to be delivered, assembled & damaged ones taken away at no charge. I feel because it was never explained to me properly that some type of consideration can be worked out to accomodate me on the delivery fee. Now that the damaged items are built I can not lift them as i live alone & I dont have a truck to bring them back to you. Had the items not come to me damaged we would not be dealing with this. Its not my fault the items are damaged. Not to mention Bob was very condescending to me & did not treat Kieth very professionally in front of me. His only response was you got what you paid for & you now have to pay 150.00. It was the way he said it & the fact he never apologized is very up setting & disappointing. I don't feel its right to try to up sell a upset customer after expressing a concern. I hoping you are willing to do the right thing in this case & turn a upset customer into a happy one. read more

We have had a terrible time to get service and response from Steinhafels. We purchased almost $20k in furnishings and you would think we could get the repair parts for a table that was damaged in the first order in February of this year. It is now September and they still won't respond with when the new parts will be in, keep getting the runaround. Dan States General Manager Steinhafels Furniture Superstore Completely RUDE and despicable. I came in upset but calm. As their delivery guys never showed. I asked to speak to the manager, as the man my friend (for whom the furniture was being delivered) spoke with told her he WAS the manager when she called to see where the furniture was that I'd been waiting all day to receive. This man, Dan States, said he was the manager and what could he do for me. Shaking his head and whole body with attitude as he said this. I had brought my dog in to show that no one had come and knocked on the door or she would have barked like crazy. He notices the dog and gets even more hostile if that's possible and just demands I take the dog out or he's calling the police. I say go ahead. I just brought her in to demonstrate how she would have behaved if they drivers had knocked. No one called me on my phone that the salesman, Dale, took down since I was to be the one accepting it for Sherry. I got Sherry on the phone since he told me he hadn't spoken to anyone. Didn't know her order even. I said, great. Now you're lying. As I was under the impression that Sherry had spoken to the manager since the DELIVERY manager said he WAS the manager. I find this out after the general manager speaks with Sherry. She is completely calm. Unlike me as I'm upset by now because this "manager" is speaking so disrespectfully to me the whole time. She tells him that the gentleman she spoke with said he WAS the manager. And instead of apologizing for any mix up...Dan States says..well, he IS the manager. The DELIVERY manager. The other employees are trying to look up the order. This "manager" doesn't care that the dog would have barked if they'd knocked because they have pictures proving they came. He obviously doesn't care about her business cause he said he'd cancel it when SHE came in. Her salesperson came up during and said he put the phone numbers under the delivery instructions just like I'd said. So I want to know why no one called me as we'd given my number since I was going to be waiting for the delivery for her. He does not care. Sherry says a few things to him. I take the dog out because the point had been proven and my friend wanted to talk to him further. I come back and tell him he was very rude and terrible at customer service. That I've been in customer service for YEARS and this is NOT how you treat customers that are upset. To which he replied...talking over me, mind you...And acknowledging that he did so as he CONTINUED to do so...that at a certain point you just have to be rude. That you are allowed to talk over the customer when I point out he's talking over me and not listening to me. And then I finally got out what I'd been TRYING to say...that I DO know how you should treat upset, angry customers. That you LISTEN TO THEM WITHOUT INTERRUPTING to let them get their upset out. And then you try to find a solution to the problem. I told him he'd been rude right from the beginning. There was no at a certain point. With an attitude of condensation and bobbing his head and body from side to side. And no. I don't think he has cerebral palsy or anything because it was just when he wanted to be extra rude that he did that. He didn't seem like he heard me at all because he was just too busy ignoring me. I told him I had her authority to cancel the order and she's told me to do so. He refused and said he wouldn't cancel the order until Sherry V P came into the store herself. I called my friend to let her talk to him again without the dog. He asked what she wanted him to do and she said she just wanted to cancel the order. And not be charged any fees or anything. He agreed. Didn't try to do anything (obviously he never cared about her business -$3000+ - or my future business - I had been going to get a huge clock art piece, a table and probably furniture for my new place here as well.) Great General Manager you have here at the Kenosha store. He said something pithy as I left. To which I replied that he was extremely rude and his behavior was disgusting. Of course, he snapped back something further condescending as he couldn't let a mere woman have the last word. Despicable. And no. I do not know if he is misogynistic or not. But it sure appeared so as he didn't want to help me at all even from the beginning. Just because I was understandably upset with waiting around all day for nothing. Do not go here. Ever. Because god forbid if you have problems with them, THEY DON'T CARE AT ALL! They don't want to help figure out a solution or sooth a rightfully upset customer. At. All. Just like typical customer service nowadays where there are no apologies or accountability, let alone solutions. Do not shop here! Ordered couches March 2019- Broken since delivered. STILL NOT FIXED. We ordered a grey which is considered "special order" therefore Steinhafels will not take ANY responsibility, because the manufacture won't reimburse them. At what point does the retailer have to take care of the customer? They are ONLY concerned about covering their $. 4 Managers - 3 service calls (they picked up the couches & brought them back 3 days later parts were not in)- 19 MONTHS & Our couches are literally sloped in the center. Bought a leather loveseat recliner and 2 sofa recliners and have had nothing but problems with them. Within weeks the loveseat recliner broke so they sent someone out to fix it instead of replacing it. Then shortly after they fixed it the other recliners frame bent. Again, instead of replacing it they sent someone to fix it, after waiting for months for the backorder part to come in it was fixed(still not the same as before it broke). Now 3 months later and the the other recliner is broke again. I contact Steinhafels again and since it's now been over a year they are telling me there is nothing they can do. I just got a couch delivered today choose free delivery. I guess when you choose free delivery because you spent enough on the furniture piece it means that they can leave you with a damaged item that they damaged while they delivered it. The delivery person was supposed to deliver my couch to my garage and rather than pull in my alley he chose to go along the side of my house in which this is where he tore the bottom of my couch. I did not yell at him but I just had him leave my couch in my backyard considering he almost took out some solar lights along the way. I did ask him to put the couch back on the delivery truck before trying to get it through my side gate in which he replied "I don't have the time". I called customer service and essentially had to schedule a time for someone to come fix my couch (mind you I ordered the couch in March). Customer Service was just as "fantastic" as the delivery man, essentially they will no longer allow couches to be free delivery because it is too difficult for one person to do. It would have been nice if they communicated that when I purchased the couch. This company used to have great service but now Steinhafels is just another cheap company. Save your money and go elsewhere they are a HUGE disappointment and headache. Not worth you hard earned money or your time. read more

I am very disappointed in Steinhafels. My husband and I visited Steinhafels three times within three weeks before deciding on the purchases for our new home. When we informed the sales associate we were ready to make our purchases, he assisted us by scanning the five items and entering them into the computer system. I am extremely confused why my husbands two Steinhafels cards were unable to be accessed in the system however, they show up on his credit report. Why would he need to sign up for a THIRD Steinhafel's credit card with no word of apology or explanation from the manager who assisted the sales associate? To further explain disappointment with Steinhafels, when the two dressers we spent $550 on arrived via delivery they were not assembled. In addition, why did we spend $550 on two dressers that come with completely worthless instructions andparts that don't fit together properly, and with drawers that don't come out with ease? I have never been so disappointed with a "quality furniture" store before. UPDATE The patio set we purchased at the same time as the dressers has already chipped after less than one year. They need to fix this mess. And go by their word with customers being 100% happy. As well with the mattress return. Because it didn't state no where thst we had to purchase another mattress protector. When the insurance company from Bedgear sent us a brand new one. Purchased a Marty Manual Reclining Loveseat which was delivered on 1/7/20. However, I didn't return to my apartment until Saturday, 1/11/20. I always sit on the right side to crotchet. However, this couch has such bulky armrests (not a complaint), it was difficult to crotchet on that side. On Monday, January 13, 2020, I sat on the left side & the manual recliner button didn't work. By Wednesday, Bob was there to check it out. He flipped the couch way over & put some latch together & Voila. Thank you for making it look so easy Bob. Much appreciated. This is quick service. I would highly recommend any Steinhafels location for your next furniture purchase. (I shopped Kenosha WI & Vernon Hills IL stores). They are superior in the industry at every level. read more

They give u a shorter time as to when your furniture will come in to make a sale. Still waiting for a Dec 5th, 2020 delivery on a recliner to come in!! I totally would of been ok with the truth considering the current backup on EVERYTHING these days. Stop lying to your customers. Our furniture hasn't arrived from a March order! Customer service has no idea when our order will arrive . They are saying maybe JULY ! That's months away . Saleswoman told us the chairs were in stock . Customer service rep hung up on me and told me managers Do Not take phone calls about orders that have not come in . Rude . Used to love this store .
